  1. Good Day Everyone, I started some work on the cab, polished the paint a bit, but didn’t go overly crazy with it, as I don’t want a show truck gloss finish but more of a fleet look. I installed the cab glass which was a lot of test fitting and trimming. I put on the decals and think it turned out all right. I think I will add a IFTA sticker and a couple fuel tax stickers on the sleeper compartment storage door.
  2. Thank You! Unfortunately I didn’t take enough pictures of the engine. But I used this article From Dutch Model Truck club on Fotki,https://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm05_jan_1991_cummi/. Hopefully this helps and there is all kinds of reference material on there for model trucks.
  3. Good Evening, Progress update. Chassis is about complete, just have a little more light weathering to do. Started on the interior,
  4. Thanks for the replies. That's a great idea. I have a few of those Molotow pens, fine tip and a couple thicker tips. I'm going to try that route this weekend, seems like it would be easier than trimming out all that bare metal foil.
  5. Good Evening All, Just looking for advice or suggestions on chroming a grill on my big rig model. I have a 1/25 scale Mack ultraliner where the grill is cast into the model. On a Mack ultraliner the only thing that is chrome is the outline of the grill, the horizontal bars across, and the word MACK in the center. I primed the truck and masked off the grill on the color coat. I then bare metal foiled the whole grill and tried a thinned black wash and I didn't liked how it turned out, it ended up dulling some of the chrome where I had to wipe paint off( Tamiya flat black acrylic) and didn't really cover well. I spent 2 hours tonight painstakingly removing the foil so I can start fresh. My next thought is to paint the whole grill black then apply bare metal foil to raised portions only and trim so I can have the black background. Any thoughts or suggestions? The first picture below is a 1:1 ultraliner and the second picture is my 1/25 cab for comparison.
  6. That truck looks superb! Great job and well done.
  7. Thank You, on some of my intake and exhaust piping, I've started using aluminum tubing. With a little finesse it can be manipulated into certain curves and bends.
  8. Did alittle more on my International this weekend and we finally have a rolling chassis. I scratch built a support for the shift rod that mounts on the intercooler that somehow walked away somewhere lol. So I have to build another for the shift rod. Once that's done then battery box sits on cross members above transmission and remaining wire goes to battery box. Once everything is in place I'm probably going to weather the immediate engine area alittle more. The last picture is my fifth wheel with a trick for you guys, I use permatex ultra black gasket maker, just dab some on and use a bottle cap and smear, looks convincing enough for fifth wheel grease and drys so there is no mess.
  9. Thanks Brian, Tan and brown is what I'm going to paint it, the very few photos I found, I do see a tan dash on the late model 457's and the interior is very similar to the f model Macks of that year with a variation of the dashboard on a Brockway.
  10. Thanks, every brock I've seen had a green interior also and some later ones had tan, I did drive a 1976 Brockway 761 Roll off back in 2000 and it had a mack cab with a tan interior. Never been in a Brockway cabover. That mixer in the picture is a neat looking Brockway, if I recall, someone on this form built that exact same truck with the AITM cab conversion and challenge mixer and it was very well built and detailed.
  11. Thanks for that link. The brochures were greàt about giving specs for truck but no interior photos. I did find what I was looking for under the Overdrive magazine files on that site. The May 1971 issue had a whole feature on Brockway cabover trucks and the redesign of the dashboard from steel to the modern style like in my resin conversion. The pictures are black and white, but it shows a lighter color dash with woodgrain panels for gauges and switches etc. So I would assume it would be tan like a f model Mack. That's what I'm going to run with being I'm building a fleet truck. Thanks again for that site, lots of great info
  12. Good Evening, Question for truck modelers that have built Brockway's or are knowledgeable about Brockway's in general. I have a 457 cabover Aitm resin conversion. Just wondering what the interior color would be. Mine has the later model dashboard. Being Brockway used the Mack F model cab I am assuming the early interiors would be green like the Mack b model, dm, and r with the steel dash, and the late dash would be tan like the macks of the 80's or the Brockway 700 series conventionals that used Mack cabs. Any info would be appreciated or reference pictures of a later model interior of a Brockway cab over. Not much for images with a Google search.
  13. Very Cool, I have the Revell Peterbilt in my collection to be built. I'll be watching, I like how you point out fit issues and things to watch for when assembling or modifications to make it better.
  14. Very nice cabs, I've purchased one, Nice detail. Easy cleanup, couldn't be happier. Great to deal with.
  15. Your bus looks amazing!, It's even got the big sun visor for the driver, fans, trash can, very nice detail work!
  16. Good Evening All, Still plugging away on the International, between my work, my childrens baseball, and the 1/25 Mack ultraliner I'm trying to finish, progress is slow but steady. I'm still working on detailing the engine, but did manage to shoot some color on the cab. I used Allis Chalmers orange, left over from when I restored my tractor. Overall I'm happy with the paint, have a little bit of orange peel on the roof, but nothing polishing compound can't fix. Being this is a enamel paint, this cab can sit for a month to gas out while I continue with the build. Enjoy
