How about some Re-Introductions?
George Bojaciuk replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
OK...my name is George S. Bojaciuk. Gregg sometimes recognizes me...at times weeks later. I use a middle initial because I shared the name w/my dad and he didn't have a middle initial. I've dabbled a little in model cars. I've written a few articles for Model Cars, Plastic Fanatic, Car Modeler, Scale Auto and Fine Scale Model. I also had a book out, "Building and Detailing Scale Model Musclecars". I also co-authored the column, "Four Barrels, Four Speeds and Horsepower" and "Runnin' at Redline", with my good friend, Tom Buesgen. I was a Respiratory Therapist for almost 20 years until fate changed my destiny. About 10 years ago, I went to work for The Franklin Mint as a Design Manager. I paid obscene money to guys like Lyle Willits for color study models and concepts. When I lost my job doing so, my wife could not have the operation so she could play the accordion in a marching band. ...I digress... I left FM when I saw things in decline, to start my own business, GSB Design Concepts and did work for Bradford Exchange, RSC Collectibles, Danbury Mint and GMP. I had GMP as an exclusive client for the last few years. Last year they ended their contract and I had to rebuild my business. It took almost a full year to reorganize and just get back to a point I was at 6 years ago. I decided to produce my own product under the Scale Accents brand name. My first venture is a 1:24th Garage facade, Esler's Garage. I'm pretty excited about this. Since this venture takes time and money, I did take on a FT job at a place I worked at 30 years ago. I'm now back at S&W Race Cars selling race cars parts. I also hope to do the old Speed Shop I worked at, as a display. With doing my own thing and working FT, there isn't much time left over for much else. I do belong to Silent Traffic Model Car Club, but my attendance has been spoiled by my Friday night work schedule. They've sent me a few delinquency notices. In all my free time, I'm also restoring a '69 Chevelle SS396. It's a numbers matching, 4 speed bench, 375 hp car. I hope to finally get her running this year! -
Here are a couple of shots of Esler's Garage. The first shot is pretty much how it will be advertized for sale. The sign still needs a little work but it's about there. The second shot is with a few things I had laying around the shop. It came alive quickly.

Hi Guys!
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm alive and well! Jason, thanks for the very kind words! I'm doing the final deco and hope to have the corrections in by next week. I'm hoping for a Summer release. My plan is to do many different scenes that accent a model, not overpower it. -
Hi Guys!
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dimensions will be 10" x 10" x 28" roughly. When I finish working on it, I'll post final shots. -
Just wanted to update you on the progress of my own product, Esler's Garage. I just got a first painted sample from China and thought I'd share it with you. Remember, this is their first attempt to try to do what I would do. Needless to say, I already have a bunch of corrections planned. There is more weathering to be done as well as more detailing. The roof will go to a steel look and the pumps and building itself will have deco. I'm attaching 2 pics, one as it arrived and one with a very quick cut and paste. I'm only making 125 pcs and I'm looking to keep the cost around $100 with a cap of $150. This all depends what my final cost will be yet. The garage will include two detailed figures and it lights up under the canopy.

Personal Update
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, these will be complete. Pretty much open the box, assemble the large pieces and canopy, add batteries and switch on the lights. You do catch on grasshopper...the seated guy is Rich Esler, owner of the real station and the talkative guy is my neighbor Bill. I am in need of action figures for future projects and you will be getting a call. Should my people get in touch with your people? -
Many of you have been emailing asking how I've been doing...in a word, fine. I appreciate all the emails and concerns. Diecast consulting has dried up this year with no consults since December. The Toy industry on a whole is down. I did take on a PT job with a place I worked at 30 years ago, S&W Race Cars. It' really been a lot of fun and just this week I accepted a FT slot. This being said, I'm still going forward with my own product line called, "Scale Accents". These will be limited runs of model displays for diecast or plastic cars. in 1:24th scale (larger scales later). I just recently rec'd pics of my prototype that is currently in development. This is Esler's Garage. It will be limited to 125 pcs. For a first shot it's coming along nicely. This will be 23"L x 10"W x 10"D. Two figures will be included and it does light up under the canopy. I'm also hoping to keep the price reasonable around a "C" note. It will fit 3 cars. I am taking reservations for this now. No deposit is required to get one reserved. A second project wil be the Speed Shop I worked at. On another front, my website is cooking along and hope to have the final maintenace done and pics uploaded. I have no clue what to do so I have someone doing it for me. I've had a lot of encouragement from my wife and friends and things are finally starting to take shape. If you'd like to see the website: gsbdesignconcepts.com If you'd like to see S&W go to: swracecars.com It's been a busy and hectic few months and it's starting to all fall in place. With the job, at least I don't have to rely on my product as my sole source of income. Thanks again for the emails and PMs!

My 6 year relationship with GMP has come to an end. I felt that this forum needed to hear this from me, personally. Over the past 6 years I’ve openly, and without any reservations, shared all of my knowledge and expertise with their entire team. They should now be equipped with the tools and ability to take the company wherever they want to go in the future. My last project submission was PC’s Garage Diorama. When I started my own consult business, GSB Design Concepts, I was writing, building and doing consult work for multiple clients. I went “exclusive†with GMP 3 years ago and gave up a great deal by doing so. I gave up other clients, subject matter variety and precious free time to write and build for myself. It’s now my hope to re-establish a new multiple client list and get back to my original goals and plans. Possibly even look into a new and different venture which would include a website. I would like to extend my warm and sincere thanks to all my friends at this site for all the kind words, support and encouragement over the years. These kind words meant more than you will ever know. I’ve also made many personal friends thru this site, who will obviously, continue to be my friends. My support and my participation on this site will surely continue. Thanks to all once again! George

photo displays?
George Bojaciuk replied to jhwelch5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know if I ever showed you this piece I did years ago. While at FM, they were trying to do a garage diorama. The project was pretty much dead after many attempts to get the right feel. So, I offered to give it a stab. This is what I brought in. The car was my friends DM model of his actual car. They really liked the garage and it became a program, the Corvette Diorama. They wanted it in a shadow box and wanted me to tear this apart and put it in the box. I told them I'd make another one-and I did. -
GMP Wheel/Tire sets
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very Nice! I had a '93 40th Coupe. Sold it and bought the Chevelle. You should have seen the look on my wife's face when she saw the Chevelle in the garage! -

GMP Wheel/Tire sets
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They are available thru GMP. www.gmpdiecast.com Go to the products page then look under accessories. They have a bunch of 1:18th wheel and tire sets and this one. If you want your local supplier to carry them, have them give the sales guys at GMP a call on Monday. This is the first set and if this goes well there are a lot more that can be done. If you have ever lettered a set of tires you'll know that even the pre-printed tires alone are worth the price of admission. -
GMP Wheel/Tire sets

Thanks Gregg....just noticed that. Guess I can't bug you anymore for not knowing me! LOL! It was fun while it lasted. I know you might be saying that these wheels and tires look great in the package but what do they look like on a model?...here they are mocked up on a Revell Bullitt. -

sent... -
For years I've been trying to convince a diecast mfg to do wheel and tire sets. Reasons mainly being selfish, since I'm having trouble seeing to paint the white letters. GMP has finally come thru with their first set of Shelby wheels and tires in 1:24th. I sent Gregg the pic because for some reason I can't post a pic here (password protected or something). If you'd like to see them shoot me an email and I'll send you the pic. Retail will be $9.95. If someone would post the pic here, that would be great! Thanks!

Who would you like to meet?

If I were you John, I'd get two forms of ID from Peterson. -
Who would you like to meet?
George Bojaciuk replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow! I'm touched. My wife says that a lot, too. Hey, anytime you are in the PA area, call and stop by. Unless you prove to be a whacko, the door is always open. Peterson has had an open invite for over a year now....I guess he's afraid he'll never leave my shop. That or my talk about Ben Hur on DVD has him scared. I've met some petty cool people thru this hobby and thru my work. The best story I have is when I just went to Barrett-Jackson. Tom Long, owner of GMP was talking to an older guy and he interrupted his conversation to greet me. I had just arrived and his wife picked me up at the airport. He gave me a big "man-hug" and then introduced me to the older guy.....I ###### near died...his name was Parnelli Jones. PS...when I talk to Gregg he doesn't know who I am until two weeks later. As for Jarius...I think the thought process stopped after the word "built"! -
GMP Wheel sets
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Bill. This seems to be the only place I have issues with posting. I'm excited that GMP has finally done the wheel and tire set. I've been trying to get this done since my FM days. -
GMP Wheel sets
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have trouble getting pics to show up here -
Well....here ya' go: G2400102 is the part number and the sets are due in August. The first set is the '67 Shelby set. Retail will be set for $9.95 for a set of 4. These wheels are detailed and tires tampo printed with Goodyear. Many of you have been asking me and GMP for these and if the initial response and sales are good, expect to see most any 24th program GMP puts out yield a wheel and tire set for the builder. I'll also see that Gregg gets a set. In addition, GMP has also reduced their garage mechanic set into 1:24th. These should also be available around the same time. If these do well, there will be more, also. Persistence pays off.

Need some help....
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the input! It is appreciated. -
...wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I recently picked up the Perry's Resin '80's Malibu Coupe (a 6 year quest!). I also have a F&F resin Malibu Wagon. The Perry's car came with a flat hood and the F&F has a ZL-1 hood. I'd like to get a second ZL-1 hood for my coupe. I tried emailing someone who was supposed to carry the new F&F line and never got a response. Any help is appreciated.

GMP Wheel sets
George Bojaciuk replied to George Bojaciuk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I presented the wheel and tire selection to GMP and we'll see where it goes. I'll let you all know when I hear something definitive. The Sprint car tire sets may be available as GMP did do a series of older cars. I had a car a while back and the tires were pretty nice. I'm also looking to keep the suggested price under $10 per set of 4.
