Ordering from Jimmy Flintstone
Tim W. SoCal replied to Hondamatic's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've ordered directly from Jimmy Flintstone's web site twice in the last couple of months. Other than the order confirmation at the time of submission, I received no correspondence, order just arrived about 3 weeks later. I am going to place a rather large order from him in the near future and will not hesitate to order from him in the future. -

GREAT job! It is bitchen' to see a person of your age interested in cars and our hobby!... Now, go out and learn how to drive a stick- shift manual transmission!... ???

I'd bet that if you photographed that car setting in top of a flat-cut tree stump a lot of people would think it was helicoptered to the top of a monument rock in the Utah or Arizona desert...

Welcome to the community, DJ. "I 'm finding that I really enjoy the journey more than the destination, in as much as kits go. So you'll probably see a hundred mock-ups or projects under construction, along with a bunch of ideas bouncing off the walls, but don't hold your breath waiting for a completed build." Your mock-ups and ideas can inspire the rest of us, so don't hesitate to add them to the "On The Workbench" section of the forum.

Without knowing it, :Michael "Mozzi" Moskov has been silently and relentlessly twisting my arm! I mean, if you're gonna have ONE kit on the bench, and the basics are the same kit, why not have TWO??? Model Car World purchase
Tim W. SoCal replied to crssfr's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
This last weekend (Memorial Day 2024) I placed on order for some paint from MCW. I didn't expect them to ship until after June 10, but they shipped Tuesday, May 28. Granted, these are all detail paints and not OE body colors that may need to be custom mixed, but again, I didn't expect them to fill and ship my order so quickly. GREAT service! -
I'm in!

Chopped '32 Ford Tudor Sedan Highboy. The beginning!...
Tim W. SoCal replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That is a GREAT idea, Mozzi! I do have a couple of the new release '32 Roadsters in my stash and I REALLY like the look of the fatter tires on the rear, plus this version fits my personal tastes more closely if I were building this as a 1:1 car. Thank you! BTW, the chassis will be the same black as the body... -
Please let us know how your spoon tests turn out. Your choice of wheels and tires, IMNSHO, is MUCH better than those supplied in the kit, but then again, that was the 90s!... I bought this kit when it was originally release about 30 years ago and don't think I've ever peeled the plastic wrap from the box. It is packed up in storage with the rest of my long term stash. You're making me want to go dig it out and see what I can do with it, especially with the HUGE selection of aftermarket wheels and tires to choose from. Thank you for the inspiration!...

Welcome to the community, Zack. You'll find a LOT of inspiration here. I'll offer you a detailing tip... DON'T use sewing thread for spark plug wires like we did in the 60s and 70s!...
