Perry's http://www.perrysresin.com has Altered bodies. I hear Fremont http://www.fremontracing.com/ is closing at the end of the year and they have some altereds as well. I've not built an altered but I think the Winged Express is a good start, although i'll let the vast knowledge here confirm/deny.

Good job for a first time. Great job actually. As 'Gow' said above, the mix is important. Randy at Perry's says when blending his resin, he stirs the mix 50 times clockwise and 50 times counterclockwise before pouring to ensure a thorough blend.

I assume Fred made the decal for the most common car, which would be Thompson. Just going by what Dan said. I don't have the decal sheet in front of me [Cady #021] The Hooper 'xp' car was a one off run for the L.A. 3 hour, IIRC. I'll create my own 119 XP for this build.
