  1. If I did try to convert impala or 69 gto I would not do boot cover. Just make folded down top (try to anyway ). I've seen old built 65s but not a kit. Every one I have found is a scout 2. Think mine was 800b very close to old bronco but more "bulby" front fenders.
  2. Damn that looks nice. I'm still trying to get that detail level and realism.
  3. They are scout 2. As far as I know no one makes any car I owned as a kid, although I could cut/sand/modify.but I'm no where near that ability. 67 tempest, 69 gto convertable, 65 impala convertible, 67 scout, 67 Buick special wagon(I'm not even sure it existed, reg always flagged and the over rode it) it didn't have roof windows
  4. Brad, all I can say is INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC JOB !
  5. Thanks Jeff, me too. I wish they made the original scout.i had a 68 pickup and I loved it.
  6. Sydney, I'm working on my wire skills. I like to make my own stuff, it's just a matter of laying properly
  7. You're correct Dan. I ran out of rust wash,so I took the pics . I just gave it a black wash coat. I'll post the results with rust coat
  8. Thanks Dave. I did model trains for a while. I made "mud" for ditches, etc and it turns out kinda red(wish I remember the recipe) plus the steel wool/ vinegar mix.
  9. Thanks all. Yep I took pics before I "rusted up" the underside. Making up some more steel wool and vinegar and a little more black wash.
  10. BEAUTIFUL! I hope to build one of your quality. I learned to drive in 67 tempest. Just posted my bronco, a few more practices (cut doors, trunk, wires, hoses, tin foil chrome, etc) on cheaper test subjects before I do.
  11. NOW THAT IS PURTY !
  12. Really nice detail. How did you do flags/chrome and the battery caps ? I have a hard time doing JUST the caps ?
  13. Not competition quality but, the BEST KIT I have ever had and the best quality job I have ever done. Everything fit PERFECTLY. Again, I'm looking for honest critiques and suggestions. No one ever got better by being told it's great !
  14. Thanks Tom.
  15. Mike, can that be built NOT JUDGE ? I had a 1969 gto convertable and can't find one.
  16. Tom and classicgas, thanks for tips. It's my first attempt after 40 + years ! I struggled with this , grind off cap posts and drill ? My lord ,what do you use to drill that small ? I thought about laying them down on posts ,live ,try and learn !
  17. The bronco so far. Sorry, Not the best picture. Looking for some critique on plug wires, scale ,pointers. I learned one thing. DO ONE WIRE AT A TIME ! I put all on cap then laid a mini screwdriver on valve cover to hold in place . Glue 1, 2nd moved, etc. Pretty happy though
  18. 65 years old and not much fine dexterity anymore.. Did ho , n gauge trains for a while and now back into 1/24 cars. Want to get into mods, doors, fabric, wirings, hoses, etc. As much detail as possible. Hope to learn and share .
