  1. Any idea how to take the "sheen" off of the chrome ?
  2. Nice age/weathering. I can do underneath but not the top side.
  3. Really nice job ! Hoping I get the courage to cut doors off of my gmc pickup/ plow ....
  4. Thanks meatman. Think the kit is cursed. Even my airbrush didn't want to paint it.
  5. GMC Pickup with Snow Plow / Trucks Revell | No. 85-7222 | 1:24 Anyone know what year these are ? Think the style was 76 to 79 but anyone familiar with annual changes ? Nevermind. Downloaded the instructions. It's a 1977.
  6. Got this to practice on.detail, fit is so bad couldn't do much. Did the Frame with cinnamon brown craft paint/fine sand(next time use a screen), blackwashed the floor then a few coats of rust mix. Used arm/Hamer advanced toothpaste on scratches in minutes. Chrome is tinfoil. What I learned: can't do metallic in air brush. Card painting letters not for me. Elmer's clear doesn't hold tinfoil well. Don't buy MPC again.
  7. Did you cut the top off ? If so some details please. I am looking to make a 65 impala convertible
  8. Thanks mikemodeler , I'm checking the site now. It is impressive work for sure. Have to check vs scout 2 and argue with myself about cost and effort ?.....
  9. Pretty cool.thats the batmobile I remember, saw it ar "autorama" in buffalo ny in the late 60s.
  10. That is nice ! Top really looks real. Love the weathering
  11. Sweet ride !
  12. Original IH Scout 800, valiant, plymouth Volare, tourismo, convertibles etc.. I'm sure alot of people would love to build more "cheap", stock and common cars that they owned.
  13. I have searched for a list of kits that have been updated,New moldings, reissued etc. . Can't find one anywhere. I picked up a mpc 67 gto to practice on, so bad craftsmanship, low detail Can't even try cutting doors or trunk. I'll finish it,then dismantle for any parts(maybe tires). Instructions say round2..... Is there a list other than going to each manufacturer to see if anything might give info ?
  14. Very purty ! You guys are making me want to attempt one of these
  15. Nice ! Right off the showroom floor
  16. Yes. I did black wash but I really liked the way it came out overall so I washed the seat and applied the included decal.
  17. Sharp lookin rig. Have you or anyone ever cut out sleeper doors and finish interior ? I never had an intrest in building a rig but the amount of parts and detail possibilities intrigues me. But I know NOTHING about them
  18. Beautiful. Now I want to do one ! I usually only want to detail one that I have owned but, apparently they don't make any that I drove. Maybe a big rig one day
  19. Thanks. It about matches the box but I really did as I remembered how most looked.hence the white grill,no hubcaps or roll bar. Probably should have done bumpers white as well
  20. Oh I understand. But we all have a price point. I just can't afford or justify over $100 for a model that may not even work. I'm not angry ,upset with printer or anything. Disappointed that no one makes a kit for the original scout
  21. Too much cost anyway,$50 body $20 shipping,$25 for scout 2 kit, then adapt 1/24 to 1/25 kit. yikes ! This is guy on ebay,eBay, a lot of bodies ,etc. DiOlex Production
  22. Thanks everyone for the interest and comments. I found a printed one on ebay. From "ukraine ". Yea,that's a no ! Pretty much unchanged body until 1971, but mine was the single cab.
  23. Thanks Charles. Maybe I should rephrase my question to "can anyone print a 68 I H Scout 800 body?".......
  24. How do you create the shape ? I want to build a 68 in scout 800 pickup. If I buy a print setup could I create the body ?
