  1. Man, this is a great build so far. Really nice enjoy you sharing the process.
  2. Looks like you are off to good start. Love that folks are rejoining the hobby. I did too last year!
  3. Excellent work. Great idea with the magnet placement.
  4. Thanks for sharing. Looking really good so far. I too may have to seek out this kit. I am inspired!
  5. Appreciate that David.
  6. Thank you!
  7. Finally finished. Some imperfections here and there by me. The molds must have been getting tired when this kit was issued back in the late ‘80’s as there were issues that I did my best to correct. Was able to get all the engine bay A/C, fuel, brake and coolant lines done. Oddly this kit did not include mirrors so I mined my parts stash and found the closest I could get. Added the antenna made from aluminum tube. Thanks for looking.
  8. Hello all. I have been posting progress of my build in the WIP section. I just realized that there are no mirrors in this kit. Not they are missing (owned this kit since buying new in 1989), they apparently weren’t provided and aren’t even listed in the instructions. I haven’t had time to dig out my ‘64 annual to see if it had them but don’t want to break up that kit anyway. Does anyone have some parts laying around that might work and are willing to part with? I would need a rear view interior and driver’s side outside mirror. The outside mirror has like an upside down trapezoid shape looking at the 1:1 cars online. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Joe
  9. Thanks so much everyone. Getting closer to finishing this one up. I will post some updates soon.
  10. Interior done on the AMT ‘65 Lincoln convertible. Added home made arm rests, interior door handles, power window switches, gas, brake and e-brake pedals and the turn signal & column shift lever. Also added the carpeting. Really wanted a more turquoise color but oh well.
  11. Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the comments and taking the time to have a look. Regards, Joe
  12. Welcome Brian! I worked for a couple of highway departments in upstate New York many years ago. Would love to model some of the trucks I remember. Mostly trucks from the 1950’s to 1980’s back in those days.
  13. Engine for the '65 Lincoln kit done except installing the air cleaner. The air cleaner was big on these cars so wanted to get some pictures before a lot of details get covered. The kit did not include the A/C compressor, P/S pump & reservoir with belts and pulleys, oil fill tube, dipsticks for oil, trans fluid & P/S fluid, coolant & fuel lines, fuel filter, distributor vacuum line, throttle linkage & springs and ignition coil. Those were scratch built. Also made a "Motorcraft" decal for the oil filter. The fuel pump and coolant expansion tank needed to be relocated to be accurate for the 1965 430 V8. Since it is mostly black, I decided to use red plug & coil wires to break up all the black. I think I got the firing order right!
  14. Anyone know if any vendor is making these Pontiac wheel covers in 1/25 scale? thanks, Joe
  15. Looks great David. I have the “Jolly Green Gasser” in the stash so appreciate all your photos and tips! regards, Joe
  16. That thing is going to be bad ass. Excellent work!
  17. Thanks Kah puts! More progress on the engine. Coolant/heater lines; fuel pump, filter and line to carb; throttle linkage and return springs; and getting most of the basic paint done. Black does hide some of the details, but it is the correct color for the ‘65 430 V8. Next up: distributor, coil, plug wires, expansion tank and air cleaner. Won’t be able to do any more wiring or lines until the engine is in the chassis.
  18. Revisiting this kit after briefly starting it 35 years ago. Decided to go for a little more realism on the 430 V8 by cutting off the fuel pump, used some wire & polyester putty to reshape the front/cover water pump, scratch built the P/S pump, reservoir & A/C compressor, belts & pulleys and dipsticks for oil, auto trans and P/S, and finally adding the oil filler tube. More to come. Will look better with paint.
  19. Great info guys! Thanks. I have one of those Jo-Han Fury police car kits that I will have to dig out and see what the cleaner looks like. I should also see if any ‘67 Fury’s out there had single snorkel cleaners. Wish Jo-Han had put something other than Hemi in this kit. It is pretty nice otherwise.
  20. Mmm…I don’t know. I haven’t been able to find any pictures of it online. Everyone seems to have posted the cross ram dual carb engine.
  21. Hi there. Are there any of these engines being made in 1/25? I know there are 383’s in some kits but looking for one correct for the 1967 Plymouth Fury. The Jo-Han kit only has a hemi. I was thinking about the 383 in the ‘64 Belvedere but would still need the dual snorkel air cleaner. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Regards, Joe
  22. Thank you Bill! This is what I suspected but you response confirmed. Much appreciated! Regards, Joe
  23. Hello. Does anyone know the proper paint color for the '65 Lincoln? I am working on the AMT Prestige convertible. Looking online I have seen all black, all blue, & black with blue valve colors. I was leaning towards all black after seeing what appeared to be an unrestored one. But then another all original had an all blue engine. Did they change the color mid-year '65? Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards, Joe
  24. Steve, I am fairly new here (just posted my hello and pics of my ‘63 Galaxie 500XL build in the “introduce yourself” page). I have just read through this entire thread and I am thoroughly impressed. I love all the details and your creativity is top notch. Giving me some ideas on my current build ‘65 Lincoln convertible. Can’t wait to see the finished project. Regards, Joe
  25. Wow. Looks awesome. I have one of these in the stash to get to one of these days. Your build is inspiring! Kind regards, Joe
