  1. Moving this over from my WIP thread. Car is now complete minus some quarter panel emblem decals that i forgot to install before taking photos!!
  2. thanks guys, i will move this over to the "completed" section.
  3. You will also notice in the very top photo, i filled in the giant blower hole infront of the winshield. I will have to trim it out slightly later, but nothing to the same extent as the jungle jim car was.
  4. I set the engine back about a 1/4 inch so i had to move the steering, and everything behind the engine back as well. The tinwork inside the body shell also has to be moved back so the body still sits down over the engine properly. Everything in white is scratchbuilt. the blue and clear parts are the original kit parts with a bunch of cutting and relocating.
  5. I decided to start a more accurate Kelly Chadwick Vega Funny car using the Revell Jungle Jim kit and a set of Slixx Decals. The Chadwick car uses a bunch of different equipment compared to the jungle jim kit, mainly the use of a Big Block Chevy rather than a hemi. Also the engine sit back a bit further and the hood cutout and window cutout are much smaller. here is the start of the mods using lots of parts bin stuff and plastruct sheet the aluminum tinwork on the chassis is quite a bit different too, and i have to find a way to do the "smoke" anodizing with decals and clear red the engine is a parts bin BBC from the supernatural kit. the intake, blower, belts and covers are all parts bin round-ups.
  6. Finally got around to finishing this one!!! I still have to put on the IMPALA logos and letters on the quarters, but otherwise its done. Made up a ficticious order build sheet with all the options i scratchbuilt. Really happy with my choice of 1/24 scale tires. they fit the Mag style wheel covers just right and fill up the wheelwell like a vintage bias-ply should. I added a rear antenna, and in the end decided to keep the front and rear bumperguards. The dealer decal is Alex Irvine in Scarborough Ontario, and i added a OK used cars tag in the mirror and for the front plate.
  7. Absolutely next level details, well done! and the vette is equally impressive. You nailed the correct details like the clutch linkage, door jambs, hinges, etc. incredible!
  8. When it comes to an interior, if you are building a Sport Deluxe(SD) then Mike is correct, the interior would swap over from the 65 GTO kit, just putty up the Pontiac logo on the seats. But if you wanted to build a "Beaumont Deluxe"(the base model like a chevelle 300) OR a "beaumont Custom"(like a chevelle malibu-NON SS) then you could keep with the 65 z-16 interior panels and make the seat inserts look like cloth with a fleur-de-leys pattern. of course you would always need a GTO kit for the dashboard. Sorry to derail your thread!
  9. getting a little further on this but i keep forgetting to take pictures. I fabricated up all the A/C plumbing with thin solder and a bunch of seed beads for the valves. scratch built the relay and wires along with the vaccum pot. The A/C firewall heat box is from the 65 impala kit. I made the Frigidaire decal in photoshop
  10. Awesome work on this. Not very often you see a 68 sedan model! nice!
  11. Ha! nice work on a pretty outdated kit. if anyone can make it look good, you are the one to do it LOL, thats my green tape on the box, I must have sold it to you at the club a few years back!
  12. Totally awesome build. You got the details perfect!
  13. Nice to see others interested in Beaumont models. Im the one that built the 65 and 67 wagons. I made my grilles from scratch with evergreen strips, then resin cast them for multiple copies. Im sure the 3D printing guys will eventually do the grills to much greater detail. Looking forward to seeing a Sport Deluxe version, keep up the good work! You can search out my detailed build threads on these 2 cars for a bit of inspiration. Also, welcome to the forum! you will like it!
  14. Thats Hilarious! in a good way, loving it!
  15. Nice detailing! im digging the driveshaft stripes!
  16. Not sure how i missed seeing this build! what a great project, awesome color combo, very cool to see it as a regular SS and not a z-16. Great combo of colors, wheels, engine choice, etc!
  17. I was having trouble finding tires to fit the Revell Z-16, 15 inch Mag-Style wheel covers. I ended up with some 1/24th G70-15's that will be perfect. the redlines painted in well. I detail painted the wheelcovers with some black and silver for a more realistic look.
  18. Finally back working on this. Slow progress, but interior is mostly done. I ended up having to remove the rear seat speaker because SEDANS do not have it(only HT and Conv). that was a bit of a set back. Also the front windshield sucks in these kits so i am still working on a better solution( i have cut off the 6" thick vent windows, so thats a start) This pic shows the rear seat fixed without the speaker. I also scratch built a rear window defogger to the package shelf. Note my power window switches.
  19. looks nice. Im ordering a few from canuck as well. thanks for the tips.
  20. Thanks guys. I just ordered a couple of the Iceman ones. Has anyone used the Canuck3d ones? im interested to see a real picture of them, the website just shows the CAD drawings.
  21. Was there somewhere to buy Chevy and GMC variations of 84 85 86 87 grilles for the 1/25 deserter kit? Cant seem to find anyone making resin or 3d stuff, but i thought someone was doing them.
