Sounds like it would work to me. I would lay some masking tape on the body and draw out the trim. Then transfer that to the .020 sheet. Then I would glue the triangle on to the sheet before putting it on the body. I think the .030 would be fine, .040 might be too big. And I know you like CA but I would use Tamiya Extyra thin on it.

Works good with the two tone and the rear section looks like it right in line with the current trim so you may just need to fab the front section. 🤔 Just no portholes please. I agree it runs too close to the wind split. Thought of terminating it earlier or kicking it up before the wheel opening and having it align with the wind split. Not sure about the last option.

As for the real cars on the Spoiler the nose is a bit longer then the Talledega and also slopes down at a steeper angle. The Talledega is 30 degrees and the Spoiler 35. Also the front edge of the hood is different between the two.
