Prison of the mind can be self imposed and a lot more terrifying then living in a cage.

Good process on the bumper, I think that should work good. But the overrides might get pissed you cut them out, I hear they’re a mean group of bikers🚳

And I went thru all of it and I don’t have one 67 Galaxie Steering wheel. Bought one on eBay but the seller couldn’t find it after the sale. Have a 67 T-Bird wheel which is very close. Gonna try to clone that. 🤞

LennyB replied to Ferbz's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ferby, don't know that I've ever seen a chopped sedan delivery but looks good so far. -

Coast Guard ahoy!

That's the look I was going for, glad you approve. And yes these were cast. Now I have to cast a steering wheel, not sure how to pull that off.

Brian, you got that right, it's snowing outside right now. And I didn't paint the roof yet for the vette. ❄ I thought about that. And since I glued the tires to the backing plate I may just have to leave them😏 Thanks Carl, I'll take you for a ride when it's done. Hold onto your hat🎩

Got an e-mail from our local congressman today. Apparently this drone issue is getting out of hand Dear Len This weekend, the increase in unexplained drone activity across the northeastern seaboard expanded into the Hudson Valley, causing the complete shutdown of Stewart International Airport. I’ve been pushing for clear answers on what is going on with this increase in drone activity, including in the airspace above Stewart Air National Guard Base. I finally was briefed this week and the lack of urgency and transparency is outrageous and unacceptable. Here are my two main concerns: First, this is a transparency issue. The American people deserve answers as to what the hell is going on. Second, this is a serious national security issue. After a week of drones flying over our communities, including over military installations, it’s pretty clear to me our country is woefully unprepared for the threat posed by drones and other unmanned aircraft. This has to be a wake-up call. That’s why I sent a letter to the heads of the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and Federal Aviation Administration demanding that they immediately release all unclassified information related to the increase in drone activity to the public. Read the letter here. I’m also calling for a complete assessment and overhaul of counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) protocol and authorities. We need to take the time now to get this right and I’m going to keep working every day to ensure that our communities are secure and our families are safe. Sincerely, Image Patrick K. Opinion is a column in the New York Times for anyone who still reads newspapers these days.

Been making some progress on the Vette of late. Trying to get the front end put together I started assembling it as MPC had in mind. The chassis if you recall comes from their 1956/1957 Corvette kit. I had several of these kits from different generations so I have a mix of parts. The later gen kits have a lot of flash, I mean a lot. I glued the A-Frame connector and the front A frames in one night and set it aside to dry. Came back the next night and I'm looking at it and something just doesn't look right. I glued the A frames upside down. Which seems to be par for the course lately. Luckily I was able to sneak them out and flip them over without incident. The rest of the front end went together OK but it's a really sloppy assembly. Had to do a lot of tweaking to get the front wheels into alignment. Needed to make my own center link to get them pointing straight. Although they don't look straight in the next pic, that's just an illusion. I searched long and hard for some wheels I liked but could not find a full set of four I liked in my parts bin. Finally settled for a set that was in the Vette junkyard. They had slicks on the rear which I wasn't going to use but something about them struck me. The centers were painted red but I repainted the centers with the Rally Red body paint and found some different tires. I had to cheat a bit for the rear wheels. The rear end uses the traditional metal axle but the hole in the rims was a large one. So the hole was filled with some styrene rod and then drilled for the axle. But I found that the rear axle sat a bit too far forward. So instead of moving the axle, I offset drilled the hole in the rims. This allowed me to center the wheel properly in the wheel opening. And now we finally have the Vette sitting on all fours. I think I want to find a larger diameter tire for the front. While the body has a nice rake, there is a lot of air around the tire. Bumpers have been cleaned up and sprayed with Revell chrome but won't go on until the very last thing. A couple of more shot of the car on all four. We might actually have this one done before the ball drops. Time will tell.....

I did my Galaxie hubcaps with it then sealed it with floor polish. Then I did a wash over them. So by comparison they are duller for multiple reasons.

That's fairly accurate. The beefier suspension was also available on the Torino GT model as well which could be had with anything from the 302 to the 428 Cobra Jet. The Talledega really can't be put in the same category as the rest as that was a limited production model that was homologated for NASCAR racing in 1969. They only made about 750 of them in white, maroon or presidential blue. Wasn't something you could just walk into your Ford dealer and tic a couple of boxes and drive home with one.

I painted the bumpers of my Vette with the Revell. Hard to get a good pic of it. Although now I see I got some dust specs in it that I can't see with the naked eye.😫 I'm avoiding touching them until I need to install them as we've all heard how 'sensitive' it can be.

Forever should be the name of a ride at Disneyland because that's how long you have to wait.

That's because it is a kitted promo. The chassis is the evolution of the 1962 Fairlane promo. If you want to build a better model you can steel the chassis from the remastered AMT 1966 Fairlane. You can also use the Revel 1970 Torino chassis but that is not as accurate as Ford made changes between those years.
