If my Basenji is bored he will chew on just about anything. Loves plastic, gotten several model parts and put some builds on hold. Also loves packing peanuts, especially the dissolving ones. Have to keep him busy with chew toys. If he gets enough exercise he is much better behaved. I just don’t always have the energy to keep up with him.😴 It does seem to be a breed issue. Had three basenjis and they were all chewers. My beagle mutt on the other hand just wants to play fetch with her ⚽️.

The Galaxie has been patiently waiting in the corner for it's turn on the bench while the paint was getting good and dry. So I pulled it out and got to sanding and polishing. Sanding pads first, 2K, 2.5K and then 3K. Switched over to Meguiar's heavy cut cleaner, fine cut cleaner and then swirl remover. Was going great until I got to the passenger side. Burned thru the paint on the crest of a wave, er, the raise bit down the center of the body side. So had to go back to the paint booth, couple sprays of base coat and then two coats of clear. More sanding and polishing and now we are back on track. Next will be the BMF. I bought some of the matte aluminum to try out as I felt their new improved chrome has too much shine to it. So we shall see, literally. One item I could not find for this build was a stock steering wheel in the attic stash. Got lucky and found one on ebay, made the deal and then the seller couldn't find the part. So it was off to plan B. This is plan B, a close cousin to the Galaxie as it came from the same mud hole at Hershey. 1967 Thunderbird promo, yellow windows and all. Steering wheel is almost identical to the Galaxie which is a one year wheel with the bulbous pad in the center of the wheel. Plan here was to cast a copy of the steering wheel. If I can get it out. Bottom of the promo and the screws are rusted in. Let it soak with some penetrating oil but after three days still not budging. Don't want to force things and damage the body (anymore then it already is)so I may need to cut the heads off the screws But while plan B is simmering the seller on ebay comes up with the wheel. So now it's plan C, or is it plan A part two? "Don't ask me I don't know". OK, Ozzy that's enough from you for now. At this point we are waiting on the steering wheel which is in transit, fingers crossed. And trying to score an engine for this bad boy. Needs a 390 2V. Decided to go with the Moebius 1967 F-100 engine with the C-6. Need to put the valve covers in the drink to get the chrome off and fill that hole in the oil pan, no that is not the drain plug. And I know that's a four barrel but under the air cleaner who can tell. So that brings us to the end of this weeks episode, see you next time🎅

Finally feel like I'm coming around the final turn. Wonder how the builder who started this would feel about it now. Got a number of details tied up the last couple of days. Radiator hoses, battery cables, rear shocks, exhaust and front and rear bumpers which are painted with the Revell chrome. I'm missing a few bits here and there but we almost got this one in the bag. Hoping to have some sun to get some outside pics but it's been a snowy overcast day.

Got 3D, now what? HELP!

Jim, you can handle this I have faith in you. As Les said, hot water and take your time. With real small parts you can lay out some masking tape sticky side up to hold them in place. 😄 -

That will certainly motivate the SD. -
Looks like it’s coming out nice. And I like how you color coordinated your paint stand with the body color 😂

That’s what happens when you cut the cord (pun intended) and let us kids run amok. 🤪 I guess after that we’re all getting coal tomorrow. 🥹 Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Tried to find a yellow interior but I failed😭

Increasing perhaps, but I wouldn't call it intelligence, more like a bank of knowledge that they have trouble deciphering because they can't honestly think. (Neither can most of humanity)

Todd, this is the original SMP body I'm using from before they shrunk the headlights. Unfortunately I don't have any headlights for it so I will have to figure something out. Perhaps the '60 Vette headlights will work after de-chroming them. That's a good thought Greg. I wasn't planning on going too crazy on this as I just wasn't it as a companion piece to my other Vette to show the differences between the two. But I might try the chassis swap. Here is the link to my other build if you haven't seen it already.
