  1. Looking good Greg and I like how you kept the full grill. But as you said, have to watch out for those speed bumps.
  2. I like the look of this especially the dust on the cowl. Guess the Flathead doesn't have enough power to blow the dust away
  3. Taillight surgery was a success Jim. 👍I think they fit the theme well. Although I would take a little off the bottom of the rear behind the wheel wells. There is a lot of body below the trunk opening. I think if you took off about 1/4" it would lighten up the look of her rear.🤪
  4. John, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one doing battle with this kit. In addition to the windows I also sanded the ends of the dash to get things to fit. As for the tires I don't think I've ever had an issue where the tires were too big for the car. I'm still shopping for a set of WW that fit.
  5. Thanks Greg, my fingers still hurt from all that folding. Rich, I easily could have painted Buck Rogers on the side and let it fly. At least I didn't have to stuff the papers into plastic bags😫
  6. Do you mean we have someone who actually reads this stuff? Now I sound like you.😂
  7. The Duster and I have been battling it out of late. At the point of bringing the body and chassis together to form a cohesive union, but all it wants to do is fight with me. Trying to bring the body down upon the chassis and all I find is resistance. Every time I slide the body on one or both of the rear side windows would pop out. The side windows have a lip around them that attaches to the inside of the body. And the interior needs to slide over that lip. Guess what, it doesn't want to cooperate. I finally gave up, removed the windows, almost left them out all together, and cut off the lip and glued them in flush to the body. Looks better anyway. Sitting holding the glass while the CA set and wouldn't you know it my finger slips and I wipe CA right across the inside of the LH window. At this point the duster almost became a rocket ship. But, regained my composure and on we go. At this stage the glass is good and solidly glued, now I didn't dare remove it as it would probably take some paint along with it. So I sanded and polished the window in place and then coated it with some Quick Shine Floor Finish. Looks acceptable and in fact the windows on the real car were never this clean. So finally have the two halves getting along but before I make it a permanent joint have one last bit of detail. As this Duster spent a lot of time bringing papers back from the printer I made up some news paper bundles for the back seat. But we still had some bumps in the road. I spent an hour going thru my spare tire box to dig up some presentable white wall tires for the ol' girl. They had the appropriate patina for the car (look at the original pic if you don't believe me) so as we continue mock up the wheels were added. Wouldn't you know it, they are too big for the Duster. Looking at the tire that come with the Duster kit and they are teenie, weenie. Here it is with the kit tires. Even with these the wheels track too wide, particularly the front. The kit tires are 25.43 mm, while the most tires I find are around 27.70 mm. So I need to find some smaller tires with white walls. So far the search has come up with nada. So if anyone knows of a kit with teenie weenie white walls please let me know. Until next time.
  8. Cars were lined up in the mud trying to leave Englishtown, but as there is only one way out it takes the whole afternoon to go a mile.
  9. Enjoyable afternoon would be sitting by the pool and watching the scenery go by, unfortunately it's below freezing outside and I don't want to leave the house.
  10. Rutabaga got a 4.8 out of 10 rating on IMDb
  11. Nuggets are what Parker likes to play with when he's up in the Yukon
  12. Altogether I have enough coal to heat Scranton PA.
  13. Welcome aboard Derek
  14. PETA, people for the ethical treatment of animals.
  15. Movie script was probably the worst thing ever written. that guarantees it to be a hit with today's young audience.
  16. Means we should be careful what strings we pluck as it might get us into trouble.
  17. Had that happened to someone we know here recently. The car belonged to a relative who had passed away and it sat in the garage, plugged into power for a few months. Battery overheated from the charging and the car went up in flames. House was a total loss.
