MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. I saw a crusty Ford Tarus wagon with one of those homemade locks over the gas cap. That was up in the Yukon Territory back in 2022. Might be able to find a photo (as I did take one). Never saw one actually on the door though.
  2. And these were all AMT models I built
  3. I had put this style of light photography on here sometime before, and I usually took photos of one car or two, but I always wanted to try multiple models to really give off the '50s Diner vibe. What I found was that it was more challenging to get great results with multiple 1/25 scale models, as I had usually only took photos of one or two cars, or multiple smaller scale cars, which I found were way easier to get the lighting right. Though I am not 100% pleased with the results from the new experiment, I kinda sorta thought a few of them were pretty alright and thought they might be interesting to show off.
  4. That’s a neat concept that should have and could have made production as a real model in the Ford lineup; as a higher trim level wagon.
  5. Looks like a very nice '73 Caddy. Very custom with that Leopard skin vinyl top and body pinstriping.
  6. Some really rare rides at these shows; I usually always see the coverage in Canadian Muscle Cars mag, but I always wanted to go in person one time. Thanks for the photos.
  7. What an assortment; I really like that ‘59 DeSoto and the ‘62 Ford Wagon. Also the TV set in the back of that Chrysler Windsor would be cool to have.
  8. I’m probably the only kid who has a rotary phone; a 1983 Petite SEL to be exact. It’s gold and looks more like a 50s phone. Don’t really use it much though because the ringer sounds awful and it is startling. And I’m hoping my great uncle will sell me his old RCA rabbit ear tv he has out in the garage. Would be cool to try and rig it up so that I can watch whatever on it. Pretty sure no channels work on it any more but one channel worked back in 2022.
  9. On the contrary, I’ve seen mostly trucks with the “homemade” whitewalls, caused by rubbing up against the curb. Which then brings up the conversation about curb feelers, a car accessory I first laid eyes on in the Disney movie Cars, as the Sheriff ‘49 Mercury did have curb feelers. Asked my dad one day what those were and he told me. Since then I became a Big fan of curb feelers ( sounds odd) but one day I’ll get a ‘60 Plymouth or even just any classy fancy late 50s or early 60s car and add on some curb feelers. Saw a ‘58 Dodge at a show once and it had curb feelers. Fist time seeing those things in real life. But yeah I know what everyone’s talking about.
  10. I was wondering when I’d see this; remembered the progress from the what did you accomplish today thread a while ago and it looked pretty close to being done. Almost thought I missed it or something, but I am glad you’ve finally finished it. Looks cool. The colour combo is pretty nice. I really want to build one of these.
  11. Looks great; the wheels and window tint really set it off. Like the colour
  12. Wow is that ever nice
