this was originally a metal body kit but it seems to run like 1/26th scale kinda. not fun to cut up and clean up. 49 merc roof gave it a bad azz water bug look. well to me. used the merc interior and since i had the caddy kit i used its chassis. but i did play with the caddy chassis also. the color was a car i seen at gnrs outside in february this year. thanx for lookings. glen damodelguy

damodelguy phx az replied to mchook's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
very very nice, great choices in colors, weathering and wear, stance, purfect wrecker assembly for the look. looks like the complete coupester type chassis with engine may be under it. (main thing those kits are good for). really cool build, great job mark -
thanx guys, actually i used my resin 51 pontiac roof on it, because i wanted the chrome waist band under the windows. thanx again for looking i havnt built the kit outta the box yet. when it came out i swapped the roof to make a coupe. im just a DIFFERENT guy! THANX glen damodelguy

build of my kitbash, of a 53 stud and a 59 el comino resin. i used the studebaker chassis and interiors with alterations to fit. lowered suspension, since roof is 59 i could use the windows and 59 dash to help make the interior width. thanx for looking. glen damodelguy still need to find (forgot)some taillights when i took pick.

used the foose caddy and recreated it with a fastback complete roof section on it. used the regular kit to build with a flat plastic rear deck behind back seat was all. thanx for looking, glen damodelguy

decided to create on a 5 window to see what a 3 window might look like. i liked what one might look like. used the rest of the 5 window kit to build it. thanx for looking glen damodelguy

mike, that turned out really sharp. it was dry fit together on your bench last time i seen it. glad you got to finish the truck in brads memory, we all miss his smilin grin, his interests and input into our hobby. specially among the phoenix area model guys, but he reached far beyond us. thanx mike.

cant find time! decided its time to make time, to build some of my creations again. been awhile, jumping back in got a little involved with the vision i had for mine. added big tubs for my vision when i created the body originally. i kit bashed with 57 chevy pro sportsman kit. changed back tires from kit. lotta alterations to make visual bash. interior was a amt 55 chevy nomad, extending the chassis of the 55 nomad, would have been so much easier. but it about OUR vision, and working toward it. ill probably use the 55 nomad extended chassis and interior to do my 57 buick panel. thanx for the look. glen damodelguy

so i finally made some time to start building on some of my creations. i always liked this hardtop ready for the track, so i designed it with some tubs for the possible. bashing my body with 55 chevy nomad interior tub and the 57 chevy pro sportsman kit. i thought i had the tires lined in the wells, but had to adjust with spacer at firewall to. i might be getting a little carried away, but we see what we see and head for the finish line. well see! glen damodelguy thanx for lookin

i love were your going. i started on about 30 years ago. still in a box. your project made me think about pulling it back out. but so many irons in the fire these daz. slice n dice, creativity can be magical. -

sure is nice to be back! was under damodelguy az and changed provider, and every thing went away. been tryin almost a year, sure missed this site. this is new project i was seeing. started out looking like a monkey and a football. not sure of the look still, so looking for thoughts? thought id put a top trim around the top of the quarter window so they were framed out. just played with a thought, and drew 4 door for a limo feel. then theres just long hardtop side window like a 50 pontiac fast back before i made quarter windows longer. just dont see it for casting yet. first thought was a wagon, but to narrow between fins.
