I've seen the bondo brand spot putty mentioned here, I assume a higher end glazing putty would work out the same, yes. I ask because I have a tube left over from my last motorcycle build, and I'm sure it has a shelf life.

I just looked your build up, very impressive. I like what you did for the stance, I may just steal that. I'm really trying to push my skills with this kit, the level I see a ton of you guys build to is unreal. Glad I picked this hobby back up.

A bit more progress on the interior, I'm impressed with the molotow ink pens. Never used them before.

Thank you again, this kit was bought already started, and has to be stripped of testors enamel that's been brushed on. That'll be a whole deal in itself I suppose. It is the only camaro I really like though.

I shot my with cheap touch and tone primer that i decanted . It seems to do the job, mine is all craft paints and a thinner I mixed up. Even that was an experiment.

I agree the kit's a little crude, the window cranks are almost non-existent (such a pain to try and paint them). I'm gonna try to get as close to saddle bronze as possible with the exterior, using craft paints. I enjoy a challenge and so far this has been a fun experiment.

Thanks, after about 30 years keeping my expectations vs skills in check seems to be the biggest challenge. Plus I like to take the hard road and try new things right off the bat, working with molotow tonight has been a learning curve.

Thanks for the reply, I used it when painting my motorcycle (that's my first "pro-level" paint job. No rattle cans involved) I found it really helped get everything leveled out and straight. I've read about different shade primers while blocking out, seems at this scale that may be a better option.

More progress, I got the bulk of the interior painted, and started detailing things out. This is my first full build since I was a kid, figured I should brush up on my skills before building something I really like.

It's a good idea. Some brands/types of paint have "hot" solvents and can cause problems, and certain kinds of paint like cheap craft paint almost "require" it for any kind of adhesion. It will also help find flaws in bodywork, sink marks and such. I use cheap hardware store primer that I've decanted.

I've seen some absolutely beautiful paint jobs done by some of the members here, I'm wondering if anyone used a guide coat product while sanding out primer or is that just overkill at this scale. I've used it on my 1:1 projects, and it works great at least for me.

The vendor had probably 30 kits total,2-3 of each and this was the only one. Maybe I should keep my eyes open, I know there's trading on the site.

I see that all the time. As someone who rides a motorcycle, I'm just amazed at some people's lack of general intelligence while controlling a vehicle. Bicyclists seem to be the worst . If you are on a public road, follow the "rules" of the road. I'm no Saint while driving, but I don't intentionally drive/ride as if I own the road. Lance Armstrong is lucky he wasn't turned into a "meat crayon".

I fully agree, and believe me when I say this particular onion has many layers.
