  1. It's fairly rigid once paintd. I just keep an old jar of paint, and dip the whole piece in the paint. I use a small amount of CA glue on the ends before paintine the simulated hose ends. Thanks for the compliment on the wires and belt. The wires are Dteail master with a scratch built crab cap distributor. The belt is a thinned kit piece. These are another example of the hose done the same way. Frank
  2. Believe it or not, I've used painted kite string on several models. i paint it with Testors chrome, and then paint the blue and red hose ends. Obviously, I wouldn't do this on a contest model, but it's convincing enough for most in the display case. This is by far much cheaper and easier than any other method I've tried. Frank
  3. Let's not forget that Rick Hendrick used to sponsor Reher Morrison before he got so big in NASCAR...
  4. Hey, Tyrone... After the 71 and 69 Camaro, I can't wait to see this one. I've got one of the Flashpoint 67-68 bodies, too. One thing I'm not happy about with these bodies is the door openings. The front and rear of the doors are straight? The real 67-68 has an arched front door line... as does every 1:1 Pro Mod I've ever seen. The red car is Jim Halseys. Fastest nitrous Pro Mod in the world. He owns our local dragstrip, that I race at (Cecil County Dragway) Any thoughs on paint yet? Frank
  5. Tyrone, this thing turned out awesome! I sent you the picture of Frank tamez's car that you built this car to look similar to. Frank is a friend of mine on Facebook, and I sent him a picture of the build a few weeks ago, and he really liked it. I also sent him a link to this build so he could see all your work. Again...Great work! Frank
  6. ...Built from the kit with a little parts swapping/ Wheels are from '57 "Pro Sportsman. Intake is from Monogram Pro Stock. It's rattle can MCM turqoise paint with Testors silver and grape graphics. Frank
  7. This is another I built around 2000. Most of it is right from the kit. I lowered the suspension, added Revell Pro Stock front wheels, and a different tunnel ram. All the paint is from a rattle can, and I used the kit decals. I didn't really add any extra detailing, though. Frank
  8. Thanks. Eventhough I did alot of detail painting, I didn't do the engine detail I'm not use to doing. Frank
  9. I built this thing over 10 years ago. I'm not sure if I've ever posted it here, though. It's a Monogram kit that I built mostly box stock, except the wheels, tires, and a few engine pieces. The car was painted with auto colr match paint from Dipli color...out of a rattle can. It was a quick build, but I still think it turned out pretty good...Even with it's lack of detail... Frank
  10. My link These are pictures of a 2011 Camaro that B&B built for non other than Rick Hendrick. Rick has been getting some drag race seat time in a milder 4th gen. I think this car may be a play toy for him. Not sure if it's actually going to be a street car, but 762 Cubic Inches of Gene fulton power should make it pretty nasty.. A short video of it on the street. Another of it idling. My link Frank
  11. a BIG vote for JBOT. Jimbos decals are very very nice. His customer service is some of the best out there. He has worked very closely with me on some custom decal work. I'd HIGHLY recommend him. If Jimbo makes a decal I'm looking for...Or can make a decal I'm looking for, I'll never go anywhere else. Frank
  12. My curio is full, and I'm looking for a way to display the 1/25 W900 Kenworth I'm building. I have several of the clear acrylic cases for 1/25 cars. I was wondering if anyone knows if they make these for 1/25 scale trucks? It's only got to be big enough for the tractor. Frank
  13. If you don't want to fab one up, Pro tech has afuel distribution block ,which has molded on fittings. While you're on their site, I would highly pecommend many of their other products. My link Frank
  14. Hey, i had to post my comment here. I got my Micro Nitro draglites a few weeks ago. Shipping was fast, and the only thing I can say about them is...WOW! These wheels are a true work of art. I'd highly suggest these to everyone. Frank
  15. Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to getting back to this soon. Had to take some time off from it. I was recently in the hospital and while there, my vision got extremely blurry. I'm trying to get an appointment to get it figured out. Before I went in the hospital, I was working with JBOT to do some custom decals for the hood and deck lid stripes. I sent him a color sample of the Pavo Purple that I wanted them, and Jimbo nailed the design and color perfectly!. His work is top notch, and I would highly pecommend his stuff. I've got the aluminum valve covers final polished and I've got the right decals for them. Some of the parts are at Chrome Tech, getting plated. Thanks, Frank
  16. Check out black golds site.My link
  17. That looks really good. How did you do the turn signals? BTW, what hood did you use?
  18. My next project is a 1967 Camaro Pro Street. It's being built as a replica of Doug Phillips Camaro from the mid '80's. The only kit available is the AMT kit, which has chromed headlights and turn signals. Has anyone found a way to make this look more realistic? I have the MCG detail set, which has the mesh for the grille. What do I do with the headlights/turn signals? I was thinking about a mix of white paint and epoxy to create a "lense" for the turn signals. Maybe using the Dremel with a round bit to hollow the headlights and use the Revell '69 Camaro lenses??? Just wondering what others do, besides using an RS grille. Thanks, Frank
  19. Tyrone, Great job on the Camaro. i knew others here would appreciate your work. Did you freehand paint the green around the flames? Frank
  20. JBOT is making me a set of custom stripes for my Pro Street 5th gen Camaro right now, as well as my Movin On decals. I've been in contact with him a few times, and he is still doing stuff. Frank
  21. I ordered my Movin On stripes from jbot. Anyone else using his stuff? My link Frank
  22. Hey, Tyrone. I see you posted some stuff about the Pro Mod '69 here. I know the members here would love to see some of your previous builds. I'm 12SCNDZ on the Scale Auto board. I used to divide my time between the 2, but have just found the Model Cars forum to have more activity. I've also found it to be a great deal of help in certain areas. Welcome to the Model Cars forum. <...

  23. Can these wheels be polished to ressemble a set if 1:1 Welds? How smooth is te machining? Frank
  24. ...Just checked. The DVD set I've got is going for $250 on E BAY.My link Frank
  25. Ahhh...Ok. That makes sense. I knew it was longer than the TV truck, though. I bought the DVD set online. It has all the episodes, including the pilot (In Tandem). The DVD set was expensive. The original tapings of the show got destroyed in a fire, where they were stored. The DVD set is all contributions from private collectors. The quality of some of the episodes is really bad. Some look like they were taped from a TV with a bad set of rabbit ears, and one is even in black and white. Frank
