    My dads 57

Thank you. Yea, my Dad likes it very well, and the glossed primer surprised me too. 409, thanx, it's the old 1/25 scale kit. The molds are very wore out, lots of work to get it to look decent.
  2. Gonna be a good build. Can't go wrong with anything A.J. Nice reference material.
  3. Good to see you here Joe. The Chevy's coming along very well. Your work always amazes me!
  4. Thanx all for the warm welcome! Pretty cool to see some folks from my neck of the woods, and a few other familiar builders here. Good stuff!

    My dads 57

This is my first model on this site. I built this for my father several years back for his b-day. It's my take on his first new car. Except for the hubcaps, all re chromed with alclad, and bare metal foil. First try at detailing the engine bay a little. Tried the wires, scratched the coil, and plumbed the master cylinder, wired the battery. Body is primer, glossed with future, top is airbrushed testors white. And white walls hand painted acryl. I'm sure whoever here who has built this old amt kit knows the fit issues, I had them all! Anyway, he loved it, still has it sitting up in their living room.
  6. Thanx guys. Hi Sean, I'm about 10 miles, straight down 75, south of Dayton in Miamisburg.
  7. Hello everyone. I've been checking things out here over this last weekend, have been very impressed with all of the talented builders. thought I would introduce myself. I'm from the south western area of Ohio, started building when I was very young, allot of show, race cars, planes, ships. Then slipped away from the hobby for many years, marriages, played music for thirty plus years, then finally woke up, got tired of trying to be a rock star. Married a beautiful woman, we have four kids between us, older and younger. And she digs me building! So for the past five years I've got back into the hobby I've always loved...scale models! Anyway, started back with military stuff...1/48 fighter planes mostly, then joined a few car sites and realized, they're so much more pleasing to the eye, and the detailing bug got me. I'm still learning! Sorry to babble, now gonna try to get a few builds up!
