  1. You will never achieve perfection! no living member will,i am not going to cry for you because She looks good!
  2. I love the Red one! all very nice cars.325 bhp is more than i need to cruise around in...a car i will seriously consider when ready to buy thank you.
  3. That must have been an eye opener and inspiration!
  4. Decals yes! i do not use tweezers for anything else due to me heavy handed and the part i am holding ends up in orbit! Space X/NASA can learn about free launche power using them....the problem is me not the tweezers!
  5. Amazing! i just can not bring myself to buy the kit been in the UK...the base space 99 kit Ampercat or Two quality Tamiya car kits same money...not your problem and i like your work
  6. The Revell 70 R/T Charger (Pink box art) probably not rare but not snagged one yet (but not been looking) if i see in the wild i will buy.
  7. I have never wanted a Sports car (honest) if so then any AC Cobra.
  8. it appears to be painted at the same time as the block...so exposed edge engine colour...if just a model of assembled engine? do not worry...HEMI orange.... just behind the oil pan i would think only where paint can reach? so some unpainted metal yes...but i am no expert! i know The muscle car modler talks about this in one video it sounds familiar so i think not much paint behind the oil pan?
  9. I Can not stand F1 despite living in the UK....i have not seen the movie yet but know i will like it visually.
  10. Hunter and the old man the best! all truth but serious amount of time to take in...... keep simple to start yes..... Mark must decide how he wants to builld? i would suggest hpi guy for a Youtube start....most of the hobby no Youtube! just build and see how it turns out? nothing to discourage them comparing to other builders,if they attend a show or buy scale auto they are already hooked and can cope with realising not world number 1 The internet can clip peoples wings confidence wise before they even start seeing other peoples work...something relatively new... and they see the best edit/example of peoples work.... so intimidating if new...we never had this in the past.
  11. Your welcome and love it! the older Cadillacs with the Northstar V8 worthless here....i would buy and take the gamble...enjoy while it last could get 60k miles...yes i know the heads can be fixed prior to failing...your car does not have that problem...you have a good eye and taste Sir.
  12. It is true....we are talking some years ago! friend offered me a Chrysler VIP for next to nothing and i was not interested...that was a valiant RHD 4 door 318 V8 with leather interiour made for south africa...how many where made? another friend had a RHD valiant that ran 11s in the quarter mile...the whole car for sale for under $2k it ended up broken up and motor in a more desirable Mopar....special luxary AMCs 4 doors just for UK same sad story....still some left in South Africa some good news.
  13. LOL lets not put Mark off! all one needs but essential is Nippers...a half round file... sharp blade and that will do!(to start) i also use sandpaper...a pack of automotive various grits cut to sizes i need....i also use sanding sticks....the womens nail ones perfect.... 5 grits on one stick for £1... of course i use more tools now! but could get buy just those basics... for the price of a kit all the tools one needs for a good start $30 max...important to start with the tools in hand to develop good practices before lazy habbits that are hard to break..tools more important than kit buying.. it may seem silly when you are new to spend $$$ on tools instead of kits for the stash....but worth every penny and makes building stress free....saves money in the longrun...no builds one scraps because you did not have the tools at the time and now know better and not happy with the result.
  14. Welcome Mark, leave the 442 alone my two cents ;).... it is normal to be worried and doubt yourself in anything new....what have you got to lose? dip your toe in the Arena...you will suprise yourself your retired so no rush is there you have the luxary of free time and no competition here. You have the luxury of not been stuck in a rut building wise..and no bad habbits....do not put yourself under pressure before you start... have fun finding out how you build Sir.
  15. One of the off puting things at the time parts...difficult in the USA AMC...rarer RHD only parts...some rare Mopar A body RHD only rocking horse stuff! i used to own a UK Mustang 2 RHD they only made 33.. so steering parts always a worry....no one wanted so no value especially AMC,so almost all scrapped.
  16. A good few amazing RHD AMC in the UK...we did not appreciate them...i am guilty of not showing interest! you do not know what you have until it has gone! RHD A body Mopars treated the same.
