  1. With the little time I have at the moment, I spent a couple of hours sanding and have the body ready to prime, but gotta put that on hold, we have a heat wave here in Brisbane (Oz) yesterday 36 deg cel far too hot for painting, and the rest of the week in the 30's. So looks like I take a painting break and go move some more furniture. (Happy wife, happy life) 😁 Don
  2. Thanks Jim. That's because I got into the restoration, rubbing back had started. I thought the heck with it, get into it fix it. Don
  3. Love those wheels mate, look great. Love the LX, had one as a drive car many years ago. Don
  4. Thanks John. Might give it a bath today - isoprop, and once dry, hit it with primer. Don
  5. Thanks Bill, looks like a late night. 🙄 Nearly forgot to ask, do I need to hit it with the primer again Don
  6. Beautiful work Ismael, just gob smacking, love it. Don
  7. Great job, love the detail. Don
  8. Perfect Roman, really fantastic job Don
  9. Here is where I'm at. I've rubbed the body (1200) back to get rid of the SMS paint. Opinions please, is this far enough. If so, do I need to prime again or can I put a top coat on this. I have Tamiya TS ready to go, can't use my airbrush, (read earlier post). Opinions please. Don
  10. Thanks Brian, appreciate your advice
  11. I'm learning Bob, boy am I learning. I guess the hard way is the only way. Don
  12. Thank you for that little "pearl" Bill.
  13. Okay guys. First I didn't know SMS was a hot paint, my inexperience shows here. So much to learn with paint, so many disasters to overcome. As far as SMS goes, I think I might put it on hold for the moment and do further testing. With my current build, I think I'll change brands. For now I think I'll stick with Tamiya, I can get into enough trouble there, as has been shown here on several occasions. Also, as I have said earlier in this post, my "good lady", has me involved in her rearranging the house - my airbrush is temporarily disabled (no spray booth), until her project is completed. I'll find a color of my choice in Tamiya - unfortunately have to be rattle can and continue on with my build. I will save all the comments and advice you have given me for future projects. The information/advice you have given me is invaluable, and I thank you all for your help. Don
  14. Thanks mate, appreciate the comment. Don
  15. HI Dave, do you find the Mr Primer Surfacer 1000 works okay with most paints? Don
