69 Camaro Tinker Toy Tribute

Hey All! I originally posted this back in 2020. This is a tribute to my cousin who was my main inspiration in building models. Mike, along with two brothers as partners, put together this '69 Camaro. It was more of a hobby than a career. Hence the name "Tinker Toy". My cousin hand painted the "Tinker Toy" graphics. For my build, I custom made the graphics and also small sponsor logos (Fram, Hurst, Accel. etc.). Mike pasted away in 1997. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome!

Awesome job on the Vette Rich! Great photos and background. -
Jim- Those are some sweet rides! Very clean! Did you keep them? It would be hard to give up those classics. Scott-It would be great to see more Novas and/or your Z/28!

Bart-Nice Mustangs! Great job on the model! I'll bet you wish you still had that car.

Hey all! A few years back when many companies release Chevy Nova Kits, I decided to replicate my first car. I purchased a "Jimmy Flintstone" resin body and rally strip decals online. At the time AMT came out with the 72 Chevy Nova SS (Old Pro). This was used as the donor kit. Although my car was not a 72 or an SS it was close enough for my project. My Nova was a 1971, 350 ,2 barrel, 3-speed, single exhaust. In 1972 gas was about 36 cents per gallon. By 1973 it jumped to 55 cents per gallon. At that point a lot of muscle cars went bye-bye. I wish I still had my first car. Hey gang, what was your first car? Comments welcome.

Speechless here! May I have more sir? -
As I strolled thru the list of MAD MODELERS here....I started remembering the familiar names. Happy to say there were too many to list. Sometimes you get their names, sometimes you get their builds. Maybe both.... I know for certain. some will not forget past builds (they could still be on your shelf). Demo-Derby CBPs and Cannon-Ball Run CBPs & DEATHRACE 2000. Here's a reminder!
