  1. Strangely I have only one kit with an LS type engine in my whole stash! The Revell Corvette C5-R. But I didn't really want to grab that one as it's one I have partially built and want to finish. Is there a current kit available that has a nice LS engine in it besides the obvious Corvette and Camaro kits? I'm thinking of using one in another 61 Impala....
  2. Anything you can do to help right Harry? LMAO!
  3. Ugh...I think I just barfed a little..... Thanks for that revolting image in my head Harry!
  4. Well, speaking as a moderator on THE largest modeling forum in the world....I have to tell you that the "Classifieds" section of the Aircraft Resource Center forum does not double our duties. Quite the contrary, it doesn't impact our duties as moderators at all. It's well known that when you buy or sell in the classifieds you are on your own. We moderators have nothing to do with it. That could easily be done here. Just make it known that any trades or sales in there are on your own and the MCM forum will take no sides in any matter transacted there. It really is that easy. I know because we do it and have done it for the last 15 years. But in the final analysis, this forum belongs to Gregg and he makes the rules. And if he says no marketplace...then there's no marketplace. I've accepted that up till now and I will continue to accept that!
  5. Hey...she looks darn good for being 53 years old! Heck she looks good no matter what age! Except of course she is not a Weight Watchers spokesmodel...she's with Nutrisystem. Hmmm...let's see now...me sandwiched between Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Simpson....
  6. This has probably been answered before..but why is it not allowed? What's the big deal about having a subforum section for those who want to buy and sell? Many forums have one and it's not a problem. Heck we have one on ARC with 16,000 members and it's one of the top used subforums there. And since I'm a moderator I know about any problems right away...and there literally are no problems. Not pushing...just curious...
  7. Thanks guys....the supportive messages actually do mean a lot. They are part of the inspiration to stay at it and not fall off the wagon. I don't want to sound like a cheerleader for Weight Watchers, but they really do have the science behind weight loss all figured out. There's no calorie counting...all foods have a certain point value and according to your age, height and starting weight you are given a certain number of points per day to consume. I started at 49 points per day and I gotta tell ya...there were many days I couldn't get to eat all those points. Right now I'm at 41 points. I eat VERY well on WW and never feel like I'm depriving myself. I eat pizza, chocolate cake, apple pie and other things like that. But what I don't do anymore is eat an entire double chocolate cake in 2 or 3 days! Or eat an entire pizza all by myself. I eat sensibly by the WW guidelines and it works! I wholeheartedly recommend Weight Watchers. God I never thought I would hear myself saying something like that!
  8. Well my friend you've got my support. As others have said, trust the Docs. I've had two knee surgeries and my poor wife has endured more than 30 surgeries from her Crohn's disease. As we've come to believe, those Doctors truly do know what they're doing. And Good Luck!
  9. Har har..... Actually...never been a fan of doughnuts. Now Chocolate ice cream or a chocolate shake? That's a different story....
  10. Feeling so good right now I just had to post this... Ever since I retired from the State Police in 1996, my weight has steadily gone up every year. Heck, when I entered the Academy in 1974, I was155! Came out 6 months later at 170 and finally retired in 1996 at 210 pounds. But I felt pretty good at that weight. Well this past summer I got up to 262, which for me...is a LOT! Saw a photo of myself on my Harley in a side view and I thought my belly was gonna devour my gas tank! So I decided right then and there I was gonna do something about it. Cholesterol was up also above 260. So I joined Weight Watchers on September 10th at the aforementioned weight of 262. Today I weighed 220.4! I have now lost 41.6 pounds in these past 5 months. No fad diets, no buying premade meals... just eating the right way and exercising. Not extreme exercise...just walking. About 4 miles a day 3 to 5 days a week. My Doctor has set my weight goal at 199 pounds... a few more than what Weight Watchers says I should be. WW says 185 - 195 but my Doctor says I'm not in high school any more! Once I get down to 199 and stay within 2 pounds of that for 6 weeks I will earn Lifetime status and won't have to pay the $40 a month anymore! I was never a believer in any Nationally known weight loss programs...thought they were all nothing but gimmicks and advertising. But I gotta tell you...these people who run Weight Watchers have got this stuff figured out! At least it's working for me! I actually go to the meetings once a week. I'm the only guy there but I don't care...I have fun with that. And another big plus from doing this...my cholesterol dropped 51 points in the first 6 weeks. Going to have it tested again next month and I'm confident it will be even lower! Onward and downward as they say!
  11. Today! After all the shoveling to get my truck unstuck 3 times yesterday. And all the shoveling to unbury my Mother and Father-in-law's home last night. Cripes I can barely move today! Thank someone for Ibuprofen....
  12. Coming down fast now... and they say we aren't in the worst of it yet. Got a half foot so far... Almost 7PM.
  13. Richard my friend..I do not mean this in a mean or demeaning way...but this bugs you to no end? There sure are a lot of other things that bug me to no end but the tread pattern on a tire sure isn't one of them! Having enough money to pay the bills....my wife's ill health....how much in taxes I pay....things like that are things that bug me... LOL
  14. I'm in eastern Connecticut 'bout midway between the shore and the Mass line. Looks like we're gonna get a couple of feet here. Got new Goodyear Wranglers on Big Red. (my F-250 4WD with 8' plow) Worked on the snowblower and got that all set. Started my generator and it's running fine. Got 3 five gallon gas cans filled and 2 five gallon cans of deisel for the garage heater all set. Got small propane bottles for my Coleman stove to cook on. Got 4 days cordwood all piled into the house. All set to hunker down and watch the snow. Then tomorrow morning will be out bright and early plowing driveways!
  15. 6! I had an 87 and really liked that car!
  16. Cool...love the short little videos instead of just straight photos! Might try that myself!
  17. Got it all painted...again! LOL HOK Black added topped with 3 coats automotive urethane clear. I'll let it cure for a couple of days and then color sand it and buff it out. But I'm still not happy with the color. The real one I am trying to come close to was not a Kandy color. It was Dupont 2002 Prowler Orange Pearl. So I bought another kit and I went to my local automotive paint store and had them mix me up 4 ozs of that color and that's what I plan to shoot the next one in! But that's okay...building this one prepares me for the next one! http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki
  18. $40.00 Not as expensive as I thought they would be... http://staceydavid.com/store/signature-series-rat-roaster-plastic-model-kit-5490
  19. Kinda reminds me of a road grader in the front.....
  20. At first I was going to say that it's just the stand from the 34 Ford pickup kit until I looked at the photo you were referring to. Then I had to chuckle a bit...because it's just a chunk of styrofoam...you know...like the kind that comes as packing in most electronics boxes. I think this stuff came out of a box our TV was in when I unboxed it. I keep some of that stuff around for a few purposes and I wrap the perimeter of it with some tape just to hold it together better and it eliminates the stuff from crumbling off. Mostly I keep it on the bench because it's great for sticking sharp pointy things into it and they can be removed easily. I usually shove my X-Acto knives in a piece of it like in the picture. As for the engine stand part of it, that's a toothpick stuck into the tailshaft of the tranny and then into the side of the styrofoam block. But the styrofoam is so light I had to put a weight on top of it so the engine wouldn't fall over. So I just picked up the nearest heavy item in my wingspan at the time...my bench block. (Which incidentally, I made back in 1971 when I was a student in the Tool & Die Making course at Norwich Tech!) The tape helps the toothpick to stay in place too. I also use these blocks for spraying small items. I roll up some masking tape and stick a piece to the backside of the item I want to paint and then stick it to one of these blocks...then spray away. Makes it easy to handle the small parts also when you want to put them in the dehydrator. Any blocks that I want to use for painting though I cover completely with masking tape lest any foam particles escape and get in the paint! http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki
  21. Got the House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine on today... Sprayed over a silver base. Don't mind how light the roof is...that's going to be painted black like before the messup. I'll let this dry for a day or two, then shoot the black. Then let that dry and shoot the clear.... Then sand it out with Micromesh and buff it! http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki
  22. Continuing on saving my 24 hour build disaster.... I have the body stripped, resanded, reprimed and the base coat of silver is on. Will let this gas out for a day or so then intend to paint it with some HoK Kandy Tangerine... While waiting for various body operations to dry I spent some time working on the 409. I have to say, this 409 from the Revell 62 Impala kit is the nicest 409 I've ever seen from any kit. I drilled the distributor cap with 9 .013 holes along with the cylinder heads and added the plug wires. Made up a coil and added that. Ran a vacuum hose from the distributor advance to the intake manifold. Ran a fuel line from the mechanical fuel pump to the carb inlet. Then I scatched up a generator because I can't find the doggone kit piece!! Grrr... To that I added a Photoetch generator bracket. I can see in the pics I have some little touchups to do on the paint... http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki http://www.fotki.com'>Hosted on Fotki
