  1. The 7th Annual 24 hour Model Car Build is coming up January 26 - 27th. The premise here is that you either get together with some modeling friends or by yourself and start building a model at Noon on Saturday the 26th. Build for 24 hours straight and end at Noon on Sunday, the 27th! There are groups of guys all over the USA and Canada who have groups all set to go. Gary Kulchock has a Fotki site set up where everyone can post in-progress photos throughout the night. And this year Bobby Boggs added a Facebook page just for this event. I think the Facebook page is going to prove to be much more popular because in addition to your photos being instantly viewable by everyone else you can also send messages back and forth. Just look up 7th Annual 24hr Build in the Facebook search bar at the top or try this link if it works... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=lf#!/events/334011736695054/?fref=ts I have at least 3 other guys coming to my home for the build this year and it's gonna be a lot of fun. Since my regular model shop is too small to accomodate this, I'm setting up a big area in my woodworking shop. I have unlimited air supply there and lots of room. I'm setting up a spray booth and I'll have my own dehydrator set up. I have 3 airbrushes and I'll have a big flat screen TV set up also...with a DVD player if we want to have car movies on or whatever...Might have to break out the 'ol Two Lane Blacktop video! I also have a small refrigerator there and we'll get some food for the night. Maybe we might need to bring my Keurig coffee machine up there too! Or maybe some of that 5 hour energy drink stuff! Who knows? I did it last year and posted my in progress pics here but didn't know everyone else was not posting here so I missed out on most of the interaction. IMHO this type of "event" is a good thing because as modelers we are pretty much involved in the hobby all by ourselves. The only times we get to interact with other guys who are like-minded with this hobby are at shows or club meetings. This is just one other opportunity to interact with fellow modelers literally around the country! I was even wondering if we could set up Skype and we could talk back and forth! We'll see. Could be good as long as no one sits up all night modeling in his tightie-whities! So....who here is anticipating taking part in the th Annual 24hr Build?
  2. Just out of curiosity Drew...what WAS wrong with that model that cost him his "perfect score?" And after you pointed out his flaw, what was his reaction to that flaw?
  3. I said that in jest Drew...that's why I had the "winking" emoticon there at the end.
  4. Maybe the guys who rail against aftermarket and PE parts just aren't skilled enough to use them???
  5. Love 'em all!
  6. Looks great! One thing about that red plastic....didn't have to worry about red bleed through on that paint job!
  7. Time to switch over to New Year's wishes I guess. So may I wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2013. And may all your builds come out at the very least as good and error free so that they don't take an unscheduled drag race into the nearest wall without a chute!
  8. Big Kudos to you!
  9. Sure would like to see some better photos. The model looks great...just can't see it due to the low low resolution of the pics!
  10. I'm surprised he's doing this at all. It's gotta be illegal! That stuff is most assuredly copyrighted by Monogram....
  11. Great stuff! Love the paint on that truck.
  12. Those ae some really nice builds! Way ta go!
  13. Doesn't matter how many Roger when you do the quality that you do!
  14. 60???? You win 2nd place! Larry Cleveland has finished 73 and he has 2 more just about done....might finish them before midnight on the 31st! Amazing how you guys can be so prolific!!!
  15. My my son...you have indeed come a long way in a short time! Your work is looking better and better with each build!
  16. Anyone know what the newest model year of the C6 in a 1/25 scale kit is that's available? Or more specifically the C6-R maybe...?
  17. This camera has an AC adapter...it's what charges the removable battery. It doesn't use AA batteries...if that's what you meant...
  18. Sean...try taking the photo with your camera further back. Then crop the picture with whatever you use for editing photos... Irfanview is a free easy to use photo editor if you need one...I've been using it for many years. www.irfanview.com to get it for free.
  19. Agree with everyone else...looks good! Wish you had better photos though.....
  20. That video looks good! Have you tried it on a TV yet to see how it looks on the full size screen? I haven't done that with mine yet... I still have that little video camera I got a couple of years ago...the "Flip Video"...and I was surprised at how good the video appeared on our big screen TV! Sure hope this new one looks good as well...then I won't have to have two cameras with me when I go to a model show... Just bring a couple of cards!
  21. I'm in awe of the paint job on the Thunder chicken! Amazing!
  22. Just want to ask...how do ya know how wide to make it etc.? Have you got access to some actual dimensions or are you just going by how it looks? If you have the actual dimensions could you list them here? Be good to know in the future!
  23. Love them Dave!
  24. Excellent job!
