welcome to the forum and welcome back to the hobby. Im Andrea and while I myself am not an actual builder I am a supportive wife (hubbys username is jones_clayton). Although I did find a pic of me at age 11 building a model while i was going through my pics for my hobby of scrapbooking. I know my husband is really looking forward to the day he can share his hobby with our son (with out having to worry about him running off and playing with it, son is 15 almost 16 months).

Where Do You Keep Your Stash?
marinewifejones replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I will take credit for that thank you! I grew up around Studebakers and Vw's and as a young girly tomboy I would work on them with my dad. And of course when Clay told the judge that yes he was sure he wanted to marry into the family (yeah we JOP'ed it) he got sucked into the wonderful world of Studebakers. We are even members of the Studebaker Drivers Club -

marinewifejones replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
in our house if the wheeles move it makes it fair game for the monster (he loves wheeles) plus like Clay said large air craft fly over our house since we are in the flight path they are really low when they go over -
What's Everyone Profession,etc..job,
marinewifejones replied to stanleymsn's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well I am a stay at home Mommy to this little monster and of course Marine Wife to Clay. In my pre military wife life I was a Clinical Financial Councelor. I worked for the Vice Presidents office of University of Florida Physicians on the Traveling staff. I worked in 39 different clinics filing in when they had a staff shortage. I did anything from medical records, check in, check out, insurance verification, and coding and billing (basicaly a jack of all trades) I was Darn good and most clinics would request me by name (ok its been a while so i have to toot my own horn). Once I left there nobody wanted to hire someone as young as me who had as much experience (cause they would have to pay me more) so I started volunteering with Navy Marine Corps Relief Society as a financial councelor and budget planner. and I did that until I had David. -
I Saw A New Challenger In Town
marinewifejones replied to Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dodge is doing a special limited edition challenger that they are only making like 4,000 of of and each dealership is getting one and a few are getting two. My uncle works for the Chrysler plant up in Indiana and he special ordered one and put 5,000 down on it and his final cost is going to be around $50,000. And he plans on turning around and selling it on Ebay -
My Second Build Of The Year. 71 Duster Called Starduster
marinewifejones replied to ViperDave's topic in Model Cars
Looks great! I love the paint job -
but the car looks great so far and you guys just blow me away with the details.

oh my gosh thats too funny! But sadly it kinda sounds like something some of my friends from my teen years would have done (i was kinda into tuners back then)
-
you guys have brought tears to my eyes. There is so much you can do for those stationed overseas. Just do a dogpile, google or what ever you engine of choice is, search for a support group in your local area. The group my parents volunteer for (not only am I a Marines wife but I am a Navy sister with a cousin in the National Guard) are always accepting donations of empty printer carrtidges which can be recycled in return for a fee which helps fund the shipping and purchasing of items to be sent overseas. If you want to send boxes on your own you can call the post office (there is a 1800 number but i dont have it handy) and request a kit that comes with boxes, tape and all the forms you need. Also they are bringing out new larger flat rate boxes, there will be your standerd boxes and then there will be boxes that are specificaly labled for military and the rate will be $2 cheaper when sending it to an APO/FPO address. if you ever need ideas or help just let me know.

one thing we did find with the House of Kolor pain it that you cant do it on a high humidity day like you can the Testors. So if you do you painting outside you will want to wait for low humidity -
Wow! that looks awsome. Great job
