Garage Sales
marinewifejones replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i know we have never sold a kit as that would be sacrilege and I cant remember us ever buying one from a yardsale. We try to go as often as we can though and let me tell ya we are comming into PCS (already starting to see moving trucks)season so people will be trying to sell what they dont want to take with them to their new duty station so maybe we will find some then. -
Hotwheels Collection

feeling pregnant (which is blah cause i dont like being pregnant but thats a whole other story) The monster trucks are larger. They are in the same section as the regular hotwheels but these are like $10 a piece and I dont know what the scale is just that Clay seems to think we are supposed to buy a new one any time we go to walmart, kmart or target. -

Bill the detail you put into your builds are amazing and the sometimes they crack me up because they are just things I would never expect to see on a model such as the gas door.

How about some Re-Introductions?
marinewifejones replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok I find it funny that you are into VW's and your name is Dave. This is because my dad, David (hence my son's name), went through a period where he would only work on air cooled vw's but he has since moved back into the Studebakers and I believe he is in the process of selling off his vw collection. I think I scared a few guys off when I was younger because I could drop the engine out of a bug with very little help but oh well their loss is Clay's gain. -

marinewifejones replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
when we first bought it Clay wanted one with a Hemi in it but these days I am all about the safety of my babies, I even spend around $200 or so for top of the line carseats cause you just cant skimp on safety. -

if you ever make it down to daytona florida around spring break you will have to check out spring break nationals. I kinda outgrew them though and have settled town and drive a soccer mom mini van (but hey its orange so i should get some credit there) -

Lownslow, Thank you for apolgizing to Daniel and evilone. Just keep in mind that this is a friendly forum and unlike speaking you can erase what you say before you hit send so think about your words carefully. I am sure no one here ment to offend you in any way. It also would have been helpfull if you had given us your version of what the term Donk means to start with instead of telling everyone else they are wrong. I totatly understand having a temper and blowing up (I have a nasty one) but if this were on my board (i help run a military support site) it would not have been tolerated, everyone is here for support, encouragement, help and ideas. I hope you have a wonderful evening and dont let any of this ruin it for ya. -

marinewifejones replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been to MANY car shows and was into tuners when I was younger (amazing i still have my hearing) and until Clay found this board I had never heard the term DONK (and I am from a southern state, Florida and have so far lived in South Carolina and California). As with lots of slang I am sure that there is no one true origine of the name. Couldnt tell ya where it came from since I only recently heard the term nor do I really care because thats just not my style car but everyone is entitled to their own opinion on all style of cars, that is why there are soo many. -
How about some Re-Introductions?
marinewifejones replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Im Andrea but most people call my Ani (pronounced Annie but I dont like extra letters in names). I have built models in the past and have from time to time helped Clay and often give my input on color. I am a stay at home mom to a beautiful 16 month old boy named David and am pregnant with a little girl whos name will be Amelia. I have been married to Clay for 3 years and in addition to your 2 legged human child(ren) we also have 2 cats and 1 dog. I grew up around Studebakers (this is where Clay gets his love for them from) and VW's and was an only child and a daddy's girl and helped him work on the cars. I love to take pics and i also love to look at everyones wonderful work and give positive feed back and encouragement. I also help run a Military wives support site (not limited to just wives, we also have girlfriends and sisters and have from time to time had some mothers). Any questions please feel free to ask -
beautiful! Great detail work.

I know that sometimes IPB doesnt count the views correctly and also every time you check it it adds a view. it looks like a nice build but its kind of hard to tell because the pics are so blury (kinda hurtin my eyes to look at them)
