  1. There are some pics here http://public.fotki.com/BobKremer/model_ca...2007/page3.html They're not mine, and no rear views, hope Bob doesn't mind.
  2. Verrrrry nice. I've done several resto's but nothing cool as that. I have a 71 Nova begging for me to do something with but my darn kids keep demanding food, clothing, and shelter Living in a garage is shelter, right?
  3. The Rod Shop looks great. Christening it with a stagnant project is a good idea. I'm ready for the poll.
  4. Do you live right in town? I grew up on Coon Hunters Road(not actually on but next to:) and my parents still do. I did a quick scan of your fotki, lots of good pics, KKiM looks pretty cool. Do you have a date for October show? It's all the excuse I need, I burned all my Vac. time, but I might have some sick day's left by then. BTW,my Dad is a member of the QC Cruisers, and been on a few Power Tours (Long Hauler 2 or 3 times and again this year) Can't wait to hear how much his gas bill is (Big block,4spd,3.73's),yikes. Sorry to take up your space Skootz, just good to hear from some Iowegians. Is S.R.S. a scale rod shop or 1:1.
  5. I'm jealous, i'm still stuck in a one car. Two motorcycles and it's full.Have to keep my project car in a storage shed, and can't work on it there. I used to know Muscatine fairly well, haven't been closer than Wildcat Den in the last 10-15 yrs (man I'm feelin old). Good luck in Wapello
  6. I saw this at the Milwaukee NNL this year and it is unbelievable. A true work of art. Space alien indeed.
  7. Sinister lookin ride. Wouldn't want to run across that in a dark alley 8) . Good choice using the wagon.
  8. If there is a lot of chrome around the headlight area, I'll paint the bucket chrome silver to give them a little contrast. Next ones gets a straight pin.
  9. I'll second that.
  10. That is looking awesome. The texturing and details look great on everything. One of my all time favorite classics. I was fortunate enough to help in the restoration of a couple of these a few years ago. They had similiar bodies to the kit. Awesome machines. I'll be watching this one for sure. Hope you don't mind , I added a few pics of one
  11. Cool corvair. Nice to see something other than a small block swapped in, that thing would haul. My dad had a red 63? convt when I was very young, and I still remember cruising around in it almost 30 yrs later. The link is a bonus also.
  12. Club project for NNL Milwuakee 15(we do one each year). 6 members each convert new Camaro into a Firebird based on different year bird. I chose 69 T/A version as seen here.I didn't quite finish the front, head and driving light lenses, and center grille emblem yet to be added ,no one seemed to notice though, so don't tell anyone heehee I had a lot of fun with this and grew to appreciate the Camaro a little more(though GM still needs to remove it's head from their ....). Past years projects were intense(several cars and misc.diorama items), so it was nice to kick back and build one car and a simple base. Enjoy
  13. I was about 10. My Dad had 4x8 plywood table w/a green fake grass paper(lack of better description) tacked on for RR layout he didn't use. I put slot car track roads (even made 3ft long bridges to the workbench) and paper and cardboard structures and lots of hotwheels. Had it set up for a few years and played w/it almost daily. How many of us play with them now? Mom still talks about the squeeling tire and loud engine noises coming from the basement. Wow memories are flooding back. Thanks.
  14. nothing like a nice, simple kit to get you out of a slump. Have fun with it.
  15. good idea. Never thought of it. On a side note, I have been using the (paper?) sanding discs to to cut and slice plastic. Works pretty good and a makes a nice thin cut. Now, what do I have that needs a 3" chop?
  16. Always liked this look. There was a 66 or 67 Chevy II, out of Texas I think, candy red, that was seriously high like yours that left a big impression on me. It was in my dad's National Nostalgic Nova club magazine sometime in the 80's. tried to dig up the pics a few years ago but I couldn't find them. I (think) remember the guy bought it new (L-79?) took it home and raised it up. I would love to find pics and model it. Then we could race.
  17. Ok and yes ,already done(forgot to check the post it box), I'll call this a sig. test. I will get this eventually. I was just reading the image MOD (whatever that is) post ,I'll try it next time. Thanks. Are all those thumbs opposable?
  18. BTW where is Skootz Rod Shop.
  19. Born in D-port and raised just outside Blue Grass,IA(I still call it home). Moved to cheeseland in 96 w/my wife due to lack of decent jobs and a little trouble with the law  (all cleared up now) I get back 4-5 times a year to visit my family now. There used to be Kustom Kemps in Miniature (I think that's correct) in Davenport. I think Mel Peasley from M.V.R. hobby(he's on Spring St. off Kimberly) was a part of that. If you haven't been there, please go, I have to every visit. Decent prices, lots o stuff, + Mel's a good guy and he probably knows of any local clubs. I think he is the last independent shop in the QC. Glad to see people build there still. Does anyone put on any shows around the QC? I can use any reason to come home.Keep on modelin'
  20. That clone looks awesome, one of my all time favorite show rods. Your model is lookin good also. A member of our club is midway through a build of this kit. Had his chassis and body mocked up last time I saw it and it sat with a gasser stance, nose high. Looked really cool, but he said it wasn't intentional and it was OOB. Doesn't look like you had the same results. Can't wait to see it finished.
  21. Some more pics. Hope you like them. Anyone know the limit for amount of pictures I can post on a thread before I get my hand slapped?
  22. Here are a couple I built for my wife.Favorite car=Mini Fav color=Yellow Fav(re) team=Packers. If she ain't happy, nobody's happy  Helps make the endlessly long nights building a little easier on her plus, they're both on MY shelf ha.
  23. Great stance. That color is perfect.
  24. Thanks for the words of praise guys. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I posted some pics in the diorama section of a club project that you might like. I have pics of a few others I will try to get on also. I don't have a digi camera at the moment but I am trying to save for one, then I'll take some pics of more recent projects and post. Thanks again and Keep on modelin'
  25. Just learned to post pics. Here are some of a 72 GMC stepside I built about 10-11 years ago.Targa top, cowl hood, tube grille, rolled fr. pan, widened rear fenders, tonneau w/spoiler, mostly scratched interior/gauges, custom mixed testors enamel/flames.and clear, Chezoom wheels might get changed out, they're a little dated. Thanks for lookin
