Every year our club builds a display to go with the theme at the Milwaukee NNL. This was ours two years ago. Around 6 months to build. About 4x7, all buildings(each member built one, mostly at home), gas pump islands, power poles, traffic lights, signs, etc., were scratchbuilt, several vehicles built and some old builds that fit in with the times tossed in, modified figures and detail items from anywhere we can find them, and several 8-10 hour Saturdays working on the base. I burnt out a bit on this one, but glad to be a part of it. Questions and comments welcome.

Looks good, it is really starting to come to life.

Would that Fujimi be skill level 19,398.7? I agree about the color, looks great. Mine's red, and I don't even like red, and now I really wish I would have adjusted my stance, it sure doesn't sit as nice as yours out of the box.

HHHHMMMMMM Mr. Flintstone you say. That's good to know.

Very sweet ride. Nice choice of color.

I too have seen his work in magazines through the years and had a suspicion it might be him, but thought (hoped) maybe it was the first of his resin kit line(Choppers Rez Works hint, hint ) and you were building a test shot(hint, hint ). Oh well, maybe someday(hint, hint )

Great idea and execution. -
I really like your street machines. This one is killer. Keep them coming.

Good idea and it sit's so right. Makes me want to build another one, with a better stance. I'd go Black with a blood red interior and Motion stripe down the center, but that's my opinion, do what you will, just let us see it done.

Long and low R/M 59 Caddy. Inspired by Maurice's Cadillac, on Northern Exposure. Had interior and chassis painted and assembled, body painted Mocha Brown, clearcoat started to crack, got frustrated and it went into a box for a few years. Rummaging through boxes one day, thought it was too close to finished to leave it in this state. Into the Super Clean it went, which also softened the plastic on top of fins! So I decided to make it a mild custom. Rounded top of fins. Shaved, nosed and decked(I think). Late 90's Dodge orange basecoat w/ fade highlights and HoK candy Tangerine, BMF'd then clearcoated. Slammers Blackforce wheels and tires.

6 month project finished last weekend. I put in the 71 Charger dash and chassis. SEL tires and lettering, a combination of Cady stripes and KMarks emblem decals. I pieced together a dash emblem from decals also. On to the next one.

Verrry nice. I like your choice of wheels.

Trumpeter '63 Nova Convertible - kit issues???
novadose71 replied to Pontiac Ed's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I built the convt box stock a few years ago. Your right about the gap, between the top of the rear seat and the convt. boot and on the seat sides, down to the armrest's. It's about a 1/16 in. gap, easily fixed, although I didn't fix mine. The windshield is also a little tall, mine has a driver figure so it kind of takes away that effect. I never researched my build, so I don't know if the interior is accurate. I remember something about the dash being........... inaccurate? or something. For some reason I replaced the trim that follows the beltline down to the rear bumper, I can't recall why though. The hood gave me the most trouble, it's so thin where the underhood bracing goes that the lacquer(Duplicolor, primer, paint and clear) I used attacked the plastic and heaved a nice big X into the top surface of the hood. I redid this twice with the same results. When I do find(cheap) and build the hardtop, I'll use a better sealer, or milder paint to avoid this problem. A few problems, although I don't remember any assy. problems, and it looks ok on my shelf. I'd build it since you already have it. Hope I've been helpful. -
Wow, Uwe, very nice 'Bird. Good attention to detail, and the paint looks great. Makes me want to build mine. And your language is just fine. Keep it up.

Good to see the correct body on the General. Mine has the wrong body. Nice lookin Mopars.

Thanks everybody. I always liked the way this one was going, it's always been in my display case, so I could come up with idea's by stareing at it. Yes, the roof spoiler was cut from a second AMX body, narrowed, and sanded close to fitting. Sidepipes of some sort are on the agenda, I mocked some up out of alum. tube that tuck up under the rockers, but have yet to check my parts box for other options. I should look into photo-etch mesh for heat shields too. Anyone have any idea's where to look. I'm thinking military model suppliers might have something. Also toying with a 71 AMX rear spoiler but I haven't decided if it would be over spoiled. Here is my inspiration for my paint scheme, 1968 AMX GT , I am also gathering parts and info. to build this car at a later date, I allready have a topless Amx body waiting. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/t...0/1968_AMC_AMX- I have HoK candy red and blue, which I might reverse on the Callaway car, and the stripe will be a little different than this. Will be solid down the sides of car, and will "strobe" up and over roof spoiler, maybe strobes into the hood scoops as well. I don't know if I will paint the stripes on or attempt to cut them out of white decal paper. Thanks again. I am using a borrowed camera right now, but I'll try to post any progress that I can.
