  1. Hey Chris, where did you get those little acorn lug nuts (the screws) on your front wheels? They look like the machined aluminum ones I use on my wheels. Just wondering if the ones you have are less expensive? The last time I had some made, they cost me .60 each. Not too bad if just using them for masters but could get costly for a whole rig with trailer!
  2. It's 1/24 scale?????? Jada usually makes stuff in 1/32 scale from what i've seen.
  3. I've been waitin to see you build this one!!!!!!!!! Are those the wheels that you got from me? I haven't had any chrome plated yet so I can't tell if their mine or not? If you did go with the ones I sold you, can you please post some up close pics? Thanks!
  4. Soooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. It really looks great!!!!!!!!!! To solve the slight transparency issue of the decals, find another set and place them directly over the one that are on the trailer. This will make them more opaque.
  6. Very cool!!!!!!!!! You sure have some beautiful trucks!!!!!!!!!!! If you ever start to run out of room, i'll be happy to lend you some shelf space!!!!!
  7. Thanks for that info Dale!!! I have been wondering about using Future over Alclad and if it would affect the shade used.
  8. That is some outstanding work Kurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Actually, the best kit to start with would be the AMT Peterbilt 359 kit. Preferably one of the very first "little window" issues. Kit number T500-500 or T500. These kits can get a little pricy but sometimes can be found for a bargain, mostly on Ebay. You'll then need to purchase a resin 351 conversion kit or scratchbuild the front end assembly yourself. The conversion kit was mastered by Tim Ahlborn and can be bought through Bobby Griffen. bobby@griffendesigns.com. The five hole Budd type wheels can be purchased through Bobyy as well. The old tanker will need to be completly built from scratch as to my knowledge, there has never been anything offered in resin dealing with the trailer, other than the wheels. Hope this helps.
  10. Hi guys! I am trying to help a friend build a replica of another friends 66 Chevelle and I am looking for some 1/18 scale 200S wheels as that is what the real car will have. Some people refer to these wheels as "daisey mags". If you know the Monogram "Badman" kit, the rear wheels are 200S wheels. For those who don't know, the wheels look very similiar to a Crager five spoke but the 200S spokes have curved sides whereas the Crager spokes are straight sided triangles basically. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!
  11. Thanks Mike and Brian! I'll check into it.
  12. Great! Thanks for the infoRob, it was most helpful!!!!!!!! Now I just need to keep watching Ebay for the best price on one!
  13. Cool, so thier the same kits, just different box art? I really like the box art with the real one and i've found that it sells for less on Ebay but I wasn't sure if it was the same kit. Are they both molded in the light gray plastic?
  14. Hello all, I have just ordered the AutomobilMiniaturen resin transkit of the Eleanor Mustang and they tell you the recommended donor kit is the AMT 1967 GT350 Shelby kit, number 38492 (shows the built model on the box.). I was wondering if the other AMT 1967 GT350 Shelby kit (shows the real car on the box) was the exact same, just issued at a different time? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  15. Very, very nice Bill!!!!!!!!! Whats the story on those period correct aluminum five hole wheels?
  16. I have used bleach, Castrol Super Clean and Oven cleaner spray to dechrome parts with no problems. If your wanting to make sharp bends in the sheet plastic, place a steel ruler across the area you want to bend and scribe a line into the backside of the bend, this will allow the plastic to "give" in that area. Be careful not to scribeto deep as it will cause the plastic to break at that point.
  17. Here some pics of my Truck Mate five hole wheels that I made to be used with the two transporter Kenworths.
  18. Don't know if you'll see this or not but I make those Truck Mate five hole wheels that were used on the transporters. You can see pictures of them at www.picturetrail.com/lotso Look in the model truck wheels folder. They are direct replacements for the incorrect ten hole wheels and just need to be chrome plated or sprayed with Alclad. Awesome job on the two race trucks by the way!!!!!!!!!
  19. Cool!!! I just found a really detailed HEI unit in one of my Revell 82 Camaro kits! I pickued up a 70 Monte Carlo today as well. Theres a lot of stuff I was able to use!!!! First I built the motor and trans, chopped off the tail shaft housing and then added the transfer case from the 84 GMC kit. This is going to be my version of the "Fall Guy" 83 GMC 3/4 ton, 4X4 long bed pickup. I chopped and cleaned up the four core radiator from the Monte Carlo to fit into the GMC. The A/C evaporator box was cut out of the firewall and grafted onto the firewall of the GMC. I have a resin transkit on order from Germany that has the long bed, bench seat, correct rool bar, photo etch side trim molding, full decal sheet, longer chassis, etc. I'm going to attempt to add pics to this post, hope it works.
  20. Wow, thats nice!!!!! Exactly what i'm lookin for!!!! It doesn't come with an HEI by chance does it? I was also wondering if any aftermarket co. ever made a really detailed, pre wired HEI distributor? I would even settle for just the cap as I could machine the body out of aluminum. Thanks for all the info guys!!!!!!!
  21. Cool! Does it come with the Turbo 400 trans as well? Thanks for the info!
  22. Hello all, i'm working on a pickup project that I would like to put a bone stock Chevy big block and Turbo 400 transmission in and was wondering what kit out there has the most detailed of these items. Resin would be fine too! Did Ross Gibson ever do a stock BB Chevy? Any help would be appreciated! Pics would be great to if possible!!!!!!
