Kieth Resin 1965/66 Dodge CrewCab
Ben replied to RodneyBad's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have two of the crew cabs. Tom is a really nice guy and the castings are very nice! I don't remember them being very expensive either. I bought mine with plans to build haulers for the Snake and Mongoose funny cars. -
A Good Friend Passes Away - Updated
Ben replied to JHDrew's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I never had the pleasure of knowing Bud but I remember his incredible models quite well! He was overflowing with talent and from reading this thread, I can tell that he must have been a very special person. May he forever rest in peace. -
Hey Jose, I used to belong to a club here in San Antonio that was lead by Don Boatwright but that was years ago. I'm pretty sure i've seen flyers for clubs on the bullitin board in the entrance to HobbyTown USA on Austin Highway. I always glance at the board to see if anyone is selling kits or something. I'm a loner type guy so I don't get into the club thing. That and my favorite subject is big rigs and construction equipment. I've only known one other guy here in SA that was into the same things I am.

Looking for a 1/25 calculator
Ben replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LOL, OK i'll try to word it differently. I need a tiny piece of plastic or resin that replicates a tiny calculator. I could swear that I have seen one somewhere. I know it seems like a pointless detail but it's one of those things that will make people say "wow, he even put the calculator there!" LOL -
Looking for a 1/25 calculator
Ben replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey guy's, thanks for the suggestions! I'll try em out! I'm a detail nut and try to add certain detail if it exists on the real thing. I know it's gonna be tiny as I have a tiny little desk phone and things like that from a Fujimi kit. I'm not expecting to find something super detail, but raised buttons and the little display slot across the top would be neat to find. Even if the piece was meant to be something else. -
To correct my last statement. I just spoke to Bob again today and he has an 80" Emeryville sleeper cab, not an 82" as mentioned. He also has the 72" and the day cab versions.
-
Hello, has anyone ever seen a 1/25 calculator? I looked at Scale Equipment LTD., Detail Master, etc but could not find one? I also checked my Fujimi accessory set but no luck there either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just got off the phone with Bob. He also has an 82" sleeper cab International Emeryville. for the "owner operator" look.

1973 Kenworth conventional and reefer
Ben replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Bill, on the big side mural trailer decals, did you apply them over black or did you paint that area white behind them? I was worried that the decal may be a bit translucent and that if applied over a black surface, the black would show through a little? Kind of like when some white decals are put over red paint and they appear pink afterwards. -

1973 Kenworth conventional and reefer
Ben replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow Bill, you've done a beautiful job on the Snowmans rig!!!!!!!! I told Brad to get in here and check it out! I have his decals as well. Really cool stuff! Looks like you did your homework when you built it. Where did you find the information such as the correct wheelbase? What is the correct wheelbase? Really nice work!!!!!!!!!! -
I've never seen the interior of one of those pulling rigs so i'm not sure. What your wanting to do makes sense though. I always thought they still had a regular dash in them? It would be a lot of work to remove all the stock equipment. Plus the extra weight on the forward end of the truck would be helpful. I would concentrate on building a big nasty, high horse power engine for it, a weight box on the rear and the proper looking hitch. Unless your trying to build an exact replica of the one in the pic?
-
Beeeaaauuuutiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you post pics of the Snake you built?
-
Hey Nick, it's kinda hard to visualize. Can you post a picture? Just thinking off the top of my head, can you put the pivot point on the door rather than the body? That way the front edge of the door will swing inwards as the rear of the door swings outwards. Or do you think piano hinges will work? Theres a place I have saved that has miniature piano hinges in different sizes.

Hey Curt, I did get his reply. No problem, i'm sure i'll obtain them eventually. Man, that store looks like a corner in heaven!!!!!!!!!!! I bet you could have hours of fun just lookin at all the cool stuff! Thanks again for your help!

Hey...............uh......Buba? Not sure if that's your real name or not but that's all I have to go by? I went back and looked at your posts. Theres nothing wrong with what you build or the way you build it. You have to think of these forums like fishing. If your using the type of bait that the fish really like, they'll be all over it but if your using bait that most don't really care for, they'll probably just swim on by. Don't feel bad, it's not you. Most guys in the Truck section relate to trucks they would actually see running down the road. Theres nothing wrong with wild custom trucks but everyone has their own preference. Your not limited to the "truck" section. What your building is also considered custom. I'm not saying that you need to leave this part of the forum but just suggesting that if you don't get many replies or people with the same interest as you in this part of the forum, maybe try exploring other areas and see if there are more builders into the same type of look that you like.

LOL, all tools double as a hammer! You just gotta be careful how you swing it!
-
Cool! Thanks Curt!

Hey Don, disregard this last post. I found your email. For some reason it went to my junk folder? I replied to it directly. Please let me know if it doesn't make it to you. Thanks again!!!!!!!!

This is a really great, poitive thread! I myself am currently 6'6" tall and weigh about 310lbs. I have lost weight several times and it was great! It's so nice to able to fit into decent looking clothes and not be tired all the time! I really need to set my mind into weight loss mode again and get back down to about 230lbs.
