  1. Awesome!!!!!!! I have the original front engine rails. I want to get a few of the reissues to build so I can leave the originals sealed. I also have the Monogram rear engine rails that come with the Christmas tree and guy at the starting line. Those are NICE kits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can check out my collection at www.picturetrail.com/lotso The pics were taken several years ago and my collection has probably doubled since then. I just need to update all the pics.
  2. Where did you get those rear slicks from? They look really good on there! Are they hard resin, soft resin or vinyl?
  3. COOL, COOL, COOL, COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite funny cars! I think I must have fifteen kits of them including the originals! I also have all the Hotwheels Legends sets as well as the 1/24 Lengeds to Life Snake. I sure wish they would have made the Mongoose to go with it! I'm currently gathering parts to build accurate Dodge crew cab transporters to display a Snake and Mongoose funny car on. I'm not sure about the Snake II but Slixx makes the Mongoose II decals to build a model of the blue Duster. Please post more pics when finished! Really nice work!
  4. Cool! Thanks Don!
  5. Hey Don, that would be great!!!! I don't have the gas pedal or a decal sheet but there is a guy on Ebay right now selling a reproduction decal sheet in both 1/12 and 1/25 scales. I can buy you that decal sheet in trade for a tire, if you have one?
  6. Hello, I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if anyone out there has a spare front tire from the Monogram 1/12 Mean Maverick motorized funny car kit? I would gladly pay for it or maybe trade if I have something you may need? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!!!
  7. Ok, I just remembered another one. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, it's just a joke! Theres this guy that has a wooden eyeball and he is very self conscious about it! So much so, that he never even leaves his house! Well, one night his mother tells him that there is going to be a dance in town and that he really needs to get out of the house and go to the dance as he might meet someone very nice and that nobody is going to even notice his wooden eyeball! After several hours of persistance, he finally agrees to go. Meanwhile, across town, theres a girl that has a hairlip and she's very self conscious about it! So much so that she too, never leaves her house. Well, her parents finally talk her into going to the dance as well. So there they are at the dance, each one sitting alone on each side of the room. They each notice that they are both alone and nobody is asking them to dance so the guy finally works up enough courage to walk over to the girl. He says...."you wouldn' wanna dance, would you? The girl looks up and says...." WOULDN' I! So the guy points at her and starts yelling "HAIR LIP, HAIR LIP" LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, OH I KILL ME!
  8. I didn't know they would offer a complete set? That would be great! I'm just worried that if I don't act quick, i'll miss out on getting some of the cars or they will go sky high in price!
  9. LOL, good one! Reminds me of this one................... Two muffins are in a baking pan next to each other and the baking pan is placed into an oven. After a while the one muffin says, man, it's gettin really hot in here!!!!!!!! The other muffins says, HOLY ######, A TALKING MUFFIN!!!!!!!
  10. I forget which one but i'm pretty sure at least one of the yellow cars was a Holden, possibly a Holden Manaro. I might be thinking of "The Night Riders" black car though? The kit is decent, nowhere near the quality of something offered by the modelhaus or anything like that but the finished car will look nice with a little work. Castings are a little on the thick side and the hard resin wheels and tires can easilly be replaced with better looking aftermarket plastic/rubber versions. Rating the kit from 1-10 with ten being a high resin kit of today, I would say it's about a 5, maybe a 6. But again, it is the only kit of it's kind (that i'm aware of) so the only other choice would be to scratch build it.
  11. That's the Pursuit Special kit that I have. (I think it's the only one ever made?) I upgraded my kit though and added Otaki chrome spoke wheels with BF Goodrich rubber tires. Otaki used to offer these sets years ago. There was a resin kit of the Interceptor (black on black car) That included the same Otaki wheel set as well. I have all these kits and had intended on building them but ever since the Aoshima kit came out, I built it instead. There was a seller that had made a beautiful, resin conversion kit for the Aoshima Interceptor to make it look like it did when Max first drove it out of the police garage, without all the damage, no extra fuel tanks, ect. Theres also a resin kit of the (Holden?) panel wagon that Max, his wife and son were in going on vacation.
  12. Does the movie have any footage on the Snake and Mongoose funny cars? If so was there any shots of the Dodge transporters that hauled them?
  13. LOL A mother and father are sitting at the table talking to each other about what to get their son for his birthday. After discussing it for a while they really couldn't come to an agreement on what to get him. The mother than says, well I guess we can just ask him what he wants. The son comes into the room and the father says, son, what would you like for your birthday? The son says, I want a watch. So they let him! It's funnier when told in person as in (I wanna watch)
  14. Ok, heres my attempt at some humor. A man is riding on an airplane and next to him is a ten year old kid. The kid trys talking to man that really doesn't feel like talking so to shut the kid up he tells him, ok lets talk about thermo nuclear energy. The kid says ok but first tell me this. Why is it that rabbit poop is round and in the shape of pellets, horse poop is round and in the shape of pellets but cow poop just plops out in a big pile even though all three animals eat the same thing? The guy thinks for a minute and says hmm, I don't know? The kid then says, well why in the world do you want to discuss thermo nuclear energy when you don't know s#!t? Theres a classroom full of kids and the teacher wants them to use the word ""definitely" in a sentance. The first little girl stands up and says, um, um teacher, the grass is definitely green! The teacher says, no....no, sometimes it's brown, sometimes its tan so definitely is too strong of a word. The next little boy stands up and says, um, um, teacher........the sky is definitely blue! The teacher says, no.......no, sometimes its white, somtimes it's gray so definitely is too strong of a word. At about this time, another little boy is feverishly waving his hand back and forth trying to get the teachers attention! The teacher says, yes little Billy what is it???? Little Billy says, UM, UM TEACHER, DOES A FART HAVE LUMPS???????????????????????????? The teacher says, what????????? Billy says, DOES A FART HAVE LUMPS?????????????????????? The teacher says, uh, no, I guess not? Little Billy then says, WELL THEN I DEFINITELY JUST S#!T MY PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Looks cool! I like the color!
  18. Wow! Nice work!!!! You still got it!!!!!!!!
  19. That was a great story! Thanks for sharing it!
  20. Hey Mike, after doing a search, the website was actually called "A/FX N Scale Resin" but apparently has been bought out by someone else? I'm pretty sure their stuff is still being made but i'm not sure by whom? I would make a post in the "resin" section of this forum and ask about the status of the stuff they made. I bought my stuff from them years ago so i'm not up to date with them. They also sold stuff on Ebay under the seller ID "tangtang2" but theres nothing listed right now.
  21. Hey Mike, do you have any pics of the real wheel your trying to replicate? When you say "simulators" your refering to the thin stainless or chrome stamped wheel covers that look the same as the wheel itself but are a cheaper alternative to buying the whole wheel chromed, right? Nobdy make anything like that in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. The wheels on rollinoldschool's dually are 1/25 ten holes from the Revell (formerlly Monogram) Peterbilt 1/25 snap together kit. Wheels from either the Monogram or AMT snap togethers are smaller than those and would probably work in those So Real tires but again are poor examples of the real thing. I think the ones from AFX/N Scale resin are the ones your looking for. I can't get the hang of posting pics on here but can send them by email if you would like? I can also find the website for AFX/N Scale resin and forward that to you.
  22. I have a very nice resin kit of the yellow "Pursuit Special" that Max drove in the begining of the movie. I bou ght it out of Australia a few years ago and i'm pretty sure it's out of production. I can't get the hang of posting pictures on here but I can email pics if anyone would like to see them.
  23. The best aftermarket dually wheels I have seen are made by AFX/N Scale resin (I think that's how they spell it?) They are very nice renditions of Alcoa eight hole aluminum dually wheels. Very different from the 1/32 ten hole wheels found in the snap semi truck kits. The resin Alcoa's are designed to fit the Satco one ton tires and when paired together, look very nice!!!!! The front wheels are one piece and the rear wheels are two piece (the dual wheel and a tiny center hub cover) They may not show a picture of them but they do have them. The AMT Snapfast Dodge dually (also sold as a promo) features nice "Dodge" style dually wheels but the rear hub (as with all the kit offerings) is incorrect. (it's too short) The Snapfast Chevrolet dually kit has decent wheels for that era of Chevy specific dually but again, the rear hub is too short. The Monogram (now Revell) Ford F-350 dually kit has nice looking "Ford" type dually wheels but on these, the rear hub is too long and too small in diameter. These are the only choices you have (that I remember right now) as far as "accurate" looking dually wheels go. The wheels found in the early Revell snap dually type kits, "Captain Hook", Big Six Wheeler", the Ford dually are all the same and are poor renditions of an aluminum style wheel. The tires in those kits are hard plastic as well. The wheels found in the Revell "Sneaky Pete" and "Midnight Cowboy" wrecker kits are the same as well. They too are poor renditions of aluminum style wheels. The tires found in these kits are hard solid vinyl. The wheels in the old MPC Super Duallie kit are regular chrome spoke wheels with a spacer to make them into duals on the rear. The tires are soft vinyl off road type. Brookfield Collectors Guild makes diecast 1/24 and 1/25 Chevrolet and Ford dually's with very nice wheels. The Chevy's have the regular chrome four hole Chevy style just like those on the AMT Snap Fast Chevy dually but they are a lot more accurate. The Fords have the newer style "star" type Ford dually wheel in chrome. Several aftermarket companies offer resin dually wheels but they are just copies of the ones found in the kits I mentioned. Hope this helps.
  24. I think we can do without the rude comments. This person clearly stated that they knew nothing about trucks and came here for our help. Theres no need to belittle them!
