  1. Wow, that is really lookin good Kevin!!!! Your doing a heck of a job on it! I love the old factory paint schemes! Can't wait to see it finished!
  2. These pictures don't do Tom's work justice! He is a very talented builder!!!!!!! I own a couple pickups he built years ago and they are fabulous! Tom, you need to post some pictures of your GMC motohome that you converted from the Hess toy!
  3. I have wondered this many times myself. Now, does anyone know when they went from blue to black?
  4. Boy, it's a good thing they had side curtain air bags back then! Well, they had to marry one first but they were available!
  5. Very nice work! If you don't clear coat it, won't it wear off?
  6. Thanks for posting those pics Tim! I have a heck of a time putting pictures on here!
  7. Hey Charles, yea, I don't stray away from MTDG too much.
  8. Hey Jim, I just went and looked at a T600 pic and they appear to have very thin vertical fins crossing round horizontal cooling tubes that reside just inside the grille surround. I think if you were to use the Apex pattern in a vertical fashion, as opposed to using it horizontally for a Peterbilt, you could achieve a very convincing grille!
  9. For those who may be interested in adding some very realistic detail to their trucks, Plano Model Products offers stainless steel, photo etch "scratchbuilders" screen in three different patterns. There is the "Morton" pattern that has hundreds of tiny round holes. The "Apex" pattern that has hundreds of tiny rectangles and perfectly replicates the real grille sreen on older Peterbilts, Freightliners and Kenworth's and just recently released, just for us truck builders is the "Peterbilt oval" screen. This new screen perfectly replicates the Peterbilt oval type screen found on most all newer Peterbilts. It could also be used on a Ford truck for a custom touch as the oval resembles the Ford oval as well! Each sheet is approx. 2" X 8". Each sheet costs 12.50 with 3.50 shipping per order. I'm not sure how many sheets can be sent for this 3.50 shipping price though? I will do my best to post a picture here but I always have trouble getting them to load? If it doesn't work, i'll be happy to email pictures to anyone interested.
  10. Nice work so far Kevin!!!!!
  11. Very cool! Looks up to date!
  12. Hello, 911? I'm in a bit of a jam here. My wiener is stuck in this house. What's that? No, I said HOUSE!
  13. Very cool! Thats the first car I owned. Funny, mine wasn't cool back then! It was fast though! 258 straight six, Chrysler 727 Torqueflight and a nine inch Ford rear end if I remember correctly.
  14. Thanks David! I'll give him a try!
  15. Hey everyone, i'm needing to send a bunch of resin parts out to be chrome plated and i've heard the name Little Motor Kar Co. mentioned a few times. Has anyone here used them for chrome plating? Do they have a website? What are their requirments for treeing up the parts, etc.? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  16. Ba da bop da da, come and stay in our jail, we've been waitin for you. Where the liquor is hers and hers and his. 08 is what she blew, da da da da!
  17. Pretty darn sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job!
  18. That's really cool that they were able to help you like that! I had the same thing happen with one of my GMP Buick GNX's. One of the sun visors was missing when I got it so I called GMP and spoke with this really nice guy (forgot his name, been a while). I asked him if they kept spare parts for the cars and he told me no. He did say however, that he had a complete GNX right there and asked what I wanted off it. He sat there and disassembled it while we talked. He sent me the visors, floor mats, wheels and tires, the exhaust and I forget what all else! I thought that was pretty cool!!!
  19. Yeah, where is that guy!!!!!! He owes me money!!!! LOL That's an awesome job you did on that motorhome Adam! I was waiting to see when the first person showed one built that way.
  20. LOL, LOL, LOL, I like that one!!!!!
  21. The LTL you posted is the later model. The one I am building is a 1976 year model. It looks very much like the LN your wanting to build but the hood is longer. The mid length hood LN your wanting to build is available from Plaskit out of Canada. Daniels kit includes the hood, newer style grill (like the one in your picture) and the square headlights. The correct front bumper and radiator overflow expansion tank can be bought from Sourkraut models. Plaskit also offers an "update set" that can be used with the AMT Ford LN hood to make the truck you have in the picture with the shortest hood.
  22. Wow, cool Volare!!!!!!! You don't see those very often! Those wheels do look nice too!
  23. Do the ones from SEL come plated?
