  1. I served as a forward observer for 105mm howitzer battery with the 1st Battalion, 13th Marines, Peter. Part of my "crazy" is that I joined the Marines when I was 9 years old. My grandfather had died and we were at the wake. It got dead quiet and I turned around to see this guy who must have been 10 or 15 feet tall in Marine Corps dress blues. I asked my Mom who that was. She replied "that's cousin Bob. He's a Marine". I told her that I was going to be a Marine when I grew up. Fast forward to 1966. I graduated high school. Fast forward to 1968. Seven kids I went to school with (some since kindergarten) had been killed in Vietnam. I took my 2S college deferment and went to the recruiting office in town and signed up for 2 years. A 2 year hitch gave me a 99% guarantee of going to Vietnam - which is what I wanted to get revenge for my friends. Pretty stupid, and maybe a little crazy, huh? Long story short, I got the revenge I was looking for.
  2. Thank you Peter. Did you notice the taillight beneath the license plate?
  3. Thank you Bob. I thought about cutting the hose apart and casting the clamp pieces but decided they were too small and not worth the effort. AMT (and Revell) ought to think about packaging some of their items for sale at reasonable prices. The AMT fuel injection stacks are nice, but you can buy flared metal in a variety of lengths for much, much cheaper.
  4. Isn't building models fun, Joshua? Thanks so much for the good words about Crazy Scale Auto Parts.
  5. Thank you Bob.
  6. Thank you Al.
  7. Costs too much to ship to FLA. Sometime I'll be up there and bring home 5 lbs or so frozen solid.
  8. It was a sad return so many years ago, but look at the USA now. Troops are welcomed home and treated with dignity - as they should be. Year ago, we Vietnam Veterans said never again would our country treat those serving our country like garbage. Well, we did it! Vietnam Veterans changed an entire country's outlook and it was for the better.
  9. Today, March 29, 2014 is National Vietnam Veterans Day. You probably won't see articles in the newspapers or on TV. So, to my fellow Vietnam Veteran brothers and sisters - WELCOME HOME
  10. Very COOL, Ray.
  11. I haven't heard anyone as excited as you about their job in a long time, John. Much success to you and keep the pics coming.
  12. Thank you everyone. The radiator hose is from the kit and has clamps molded in.

  22. Got this one done today. I painted it in HOK red II pearl and frenched the license plate and taillight. Running boards & roof are painted to match the interior. Otherwise it's pretty much out of the box.
  23. Bummer. I won't have a vehicle when I'm in cheddarland.
  24. Welcome Rich.
  25. Cute little bugger in SHINY :)
