  1. I got a free Elvis Presley Meyers Manx. had a set of paddle tires and a corvair engine, so I put them together in this little puppy. Don't deceived by the license plates! This puppy was built to play in the sand. The interior was kept to a minimum so it would be easy to blow out the sand. The custom side pods were mastered by Don Garrett and are available only through Crazy Scale Auto Parts. I used HOK light teal pearl for paint.
  2. I decided to keep the Syclone in black but I used HOK black sparkle pearl to cover it. The grill was cut out and replaced with mesh. The original area for the taillights was filled and I moved the light to the rolled pan. I used Rustoleum Texture paint for the sprayed bedliner look. Other than those modifications, it's pretty much out of the box.
  3. Thank you Bart. Once in a while I need to do a quick build just for the heck of it.
  4. I never used a MAD unit, Ray. I do distributors the way Fatkidd Hobby Products does it. It's not a drill thing - just a #20 straight pin or the pins you can buy with a colored plastic tip on 1 end. When I cut the telephone wire insulation, the end gets crimped down somewhat. Running the cut insulation onto the pin opens the hole and stretches the insulation slightly. Cut 9 pieces of the insulation and run them all up the pin. They not only stretch, but also keeps them safe from falling to the carpet monster. If you want some pics of the Fatkidd Hobby Products process that I use, just let me know.
  5. Plug boots are easy, Ray. I use telephone wire insulation. Using a jig on clothes pin, cut the boots to length. After cutting 9 pieces (for a V8), insert a #20 pin in all the little pieces. The pin will stretch the boot allowing the wire to slide through.
  6. Thanks Al. Building models is not where I got my nickname.
