Today I went to see my son in Breckenridge, Colorado. He's 24, and quite a character. He loves to snowboard. Anyway, he took me up the County road that leads to the top of the chair lifts to Peak 9 at Breck. What a view! Was one of the most incredible days I have ever had.

where's GREG lost in ohio
Gregg replied to Rick Forrester's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
He's looking at all the cheap houses in Ohio! Man, you guys got it made here! Gas for less than 3 bucks a gallon, milk for what, 3 bucks a gallon, house with a million square feet for $300K, man oh man. Next thing you know you'll tell me they have Gennis for $4 and JD for $10!!! And that's for a six pack and a full bottle!!!! I'm here at Randy Derr's house He has been a terrific host, he and his wife Debbie have so gracious to let me stay here. Tomorrow, Friday, I may either play tourist, go to Wright Patterson Museum, house hunt, or check out the local beaches. Don't know yet, that ones up in the air. What a great town (Dayton area) Didn't get to spend any time in Cinci, except for hotel north of the airport. The fog was thick all morning. I rented one of the new HHR's, only 3 miles on it!!! It's a great little car. So, Papa, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! Puerto Rico was a blast I owe so much to Miguel for putting on such a great show, being a great guy and great friend, and for Ismael, who helped me out big time, and save me some major pie in the face with the next issue. (that's one for just you and me, Iz!) Thanks so much, gracias mi panas! -
I don't like you anymore.....

Bob, Chris is right. There is no fees except for bold, highlights, etc. You can literally sell everything you have for free! Yes, I know, I should charge something for this, but I don't. This is a service for modelers, run by a crazy guy in Hawaii who has no business cents at all! There is no charge for pictures. Just make sure the size limit is small, I think it's 250k or so, the smaller the better. Will it be free forever? That's hard to tell. Depends on what everyone wants from the site. I actually picked up the small 32nd scale kits from the seller here in Puerto Rico! Fly 7500 miles just to save 10 bucks on postage..... go figure :-) Enjoy the site, and yes, it's taken a while for it to get off the ground. It went through a revamp before, but all the prior data was lost, and I think that turned a lot of people away.

Gregg replied to grandnational's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I can't remember who had them, I think it was Matt from Arizona, LookOut Models, but don't think he is still casting. They were in a lot of 80s and 90s kits, like the Revell Funny Cars. -

Should I quit modeling?
Gregg replied to ericmaxman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is the biggest treat for me. Surprising people with covers. I don't ever kiss and tell (well, I did once, but that's another story), and when guys see their car on the cover, the thrill I get for their response really makes the past ten years of sweat, blood, surgeries, and a couple of bankruptcies all worth it. My only regret is I started so late. I started building in '87, after seeing a SAE in our local hobby shop, April 1987 to be exact. I still need to meet the other cover feature modeler, and thank him for who and what I am today. -
Sorry, everyone here in Hawaii is laughing their okole off! The Red Roof here is the funny farm in Kaneohe, State run, of course. That's always made me laugh!!!! Sorry.... just a lolo haole havin' fun....

Okay, this post hits close to home. Although I didn't have a mother who was negative towards my hobby, I have gone through the same scenario And, considering I got into this hobby only back in 1987, look at what I have done with my hobby. You can use my example to your mother, explaining that there are those out there who can make something from their hobby, if they have the heart, passion, and soul of our hobby, as well as the support of the family and loved ones. Our hobby is a close nit family of hobbyists. If you want to email me off the board, please do so. All I can say is don't let the negativity of others, even family, let you down. You do what you want to, and do it the best you can.
