  1. Did you get the day pass though? I heard that the cost has gone up to three honey-do wild cards, two chick-flicks, one cousin's wedding, and something about a foot rub/pedicure that I don't understand or wish to comprehend. DISCLAIMER: All comments, suggestions, name-callings, innuendoes, slanderous insults, and defamatory comments from the BETTER HALVES will be ignored...
  2. At the NNL East this past, what, March?, we had the most ever forum members for the MCM Forum group photo. We had almost 40 members, not counting the two snackers (yes, snackers, not slackers!). So, let's shoot for 50 in this shoot! Let's set it up for like 4:42 p.m. Or maybe 5:02 p.m.? Can't think of any other appropriate CID times :-) I will be coming up from Dayton with the Southern Ohio boyz Saturday morning. Actually, I had a change in plans. After the show, I will be driving to O'Hare, and jumping on a plane to the office for a few days. No, I'm not getting fired (that's not possible :-)) I will be back for the Chicago iHobby Expo October 16, home Sunday And then I hope, November 8 for the Atlanta (Jack Daniels tour) NNL. Heh, it's only a five hour drive!!!!!
  3. You buy, I fly!!!! (sorry, FC only :-)))) Seriously, I'm getting the shows grouped together as much as I can. You should see the itinerary for October I fly to Puerto Rico, then to Cinci, house hunt, make trouble, then drive up to Toledo. Then, overnight, I drive to Chicago, O'Hare, hop on an a.m. to Denver, three days there, then back to Chicago for the iHobby Expo the 16th. And then, there may be a surprise show after that. Nuts, to say the least It will be a blast. Thank Buddha for Priceline!!!!!! I am accepting donations for gas, food, JD, pillows, No-Dooze, and mileage upgrades (Chicago to Denver is United, if you have extra miles you want to donate :-))))) I'm not proud, I beg in public!!!!!! Go to sleep dork!

  13. Yes, there is a great get together down in Dayton the night before. They will need your social security numbers, credit card numbers, dates of birth, maiden names, shoe size, number of teeth, color of pen in your back pocket, father's first dog's name, and some other relevant information before they will let you in the secret club door. No, I'm serious, I gave them all that info last week. I don't know what happened though. My rent check bounced, for some strange reason. Must be a coincidence, or I spelt my name wrong, or something like that. I will ask the Grand PuBah's if it's okay to bring friends. You guys are still my friends, right? Even though, you know, that last time at NNL East, you got so jealous when me and Anthony......... wait, never mind, wrong story......... :-) I'm nukin futs, I know!!!!!!!
  14. I've taught you well, grasshopper......
  15. The toy fair/swap meet is two day. The NNL is one day, starts in the afternoon, yes, Saturday afternoon, 2:00 p.m. The Apple Sauce starts around then, also. I will be in the Dayton area before the show, so lock your doors Ohioans! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/Toledo08.html
  16. These are the rough and as is photos from the Monterey Historics that John Oszajca, Stan Pinick, and Bill Bauer were dragged kicking and screaming with me to. Actually, it's all Bill's fault He started it. See what happens when you put thoughts in my two brain cells? I will be there next year, with a better than a 15 year old zoom lens on a new digital camera. What was I thinking????? And the polarizing shots, some great, some kaka And that obnoxious girl getting in the way of the reference shots of the Mustangs and Cobras.... How rude!!!! It's a good thing John held me back or I would have given her a piece of my mind,.... what's left of it, anyway. With all serious aside, I will be better prepared for next year's Historics. I will park in the paddock I will have better lens, batteries, and equipment I will not fart in public (I hope) I will have another great time. Bill, it's all your fault And next year, we go down in one car, that new Mayback you said you were going to get for me for the weekend...... Oh yeah, pics: I am uploading them now: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/Monterey2008 They are being uploaded now, 12:00 a.m (or is it p.m?, or do I have PMS? or AMS?) (Shut up, who cares....)
  17. The Chicago iHobby Expo is the 16-19. How far is the drive from Cincinnati to Norfolk?
  18. Yes, I remember You were that gorgeous dark-haired girl playing drums, right?
  19. It's not real. We only have six numbers But thanks for thinking of me, not like that though!
  20. I was looking for a Red Ferrari. Show's how bad I am today. Great build, Mr. Cruz
  21. I just bought the tickets for the October road show. Puerto Rico, October 5, 2008 Fly in Saturday, leave Wednesday Toledo October 11, I flying in to Cincinnati Chicago iHobby Expo, October 16-18 Come home October 19. What fun!!!!! Going to office one of the days during then also.
  22. Thanks, Randy It will get only better There is a fine line now between the printed magazine and the online instant versions I hope that it can be covered in such a way as to make everyone happy, well, almost everyone....
  23. As most of you know (those who follow the boring and self-serving posts of your editor), I took the pilgramage trip to the Monterey Historics at the Laguna Seca track in Montrery, California. I have always dreamed about going to this race. I have tried to do it numerous times. I was actually supposed to meet and interview Carroll Shelby back in 2001 at the Historics, but as you may remember, my life changed on August 10, 2001 (just picture in your mind 3-5 seconds of tires screeching). So, Monterey has always been on the "what if" portion of both of my remaining brain cells. A few weeks ago, I called Bill Bauer, yes, that Bill, who makes those fantastic IMSA Mustang and Jaguar resin kits from BHP Enterprises. Well, he asked if I was going to go the Historics, and I had to tell him, at that time, No. I wish I could, but the cards on the table were not saying it was okay to go. So what's a modeler to do, right? I rearranged the cards, of course. I checked my Northwest miles, found a flight, and said, WTF!!!!! Yes, that stands for We Travel Firstclass...... yeah, right (I was able to purchase my upgrades though) Anyway, I checked with the boss, and she said, and I quote "hhhhmmmmppphhhh". Yes, that's with three extra m's. So, it was set. I called John Oszajca (I love being able to type his last name with no backspacing now), and was able to fly him from Vegas to San Fran at almost the same time. In hindsight, I think we both had the exact same flights from the NNL West back in Feb/March! Anyway, with John coming in from Vegas, me from Hawaii, all that was left was a place to crash Stan Pinnick was only a phone call away, and he was gracious enough to bride his wife, Dorothy, so that John and I had a place to crash Saturday night. Well, to put a long story short, Monterey was a blast. I have over, wait, hold on.....880 photos from the track, not counting the 70+ of cars just in the parking areas!!!!! there was a DB6 next to a new DB9, I needed new shorts before I even entered the gates! And on the way, get this: A Vernon, 430, and 599, flying UP 101 on the way to the track!!!!! I am the only one in the car who saw it, so it's my word against Stan and John's. But then, sitting up on the hill by the Corkscrew, yes, that Corkscrew I know by heart in PS3 GT4, there drives in a Bugattie Vernon into the paddock. Must be Jay Leno, I say to myself, although by then, I'm not even listening. The whole day is still a blur. I haven't been able to go through all the pics and post the best ones yet Seeing two McLaren's kiss each other on the Corkscrew was something else though. Too bad they weren't at full speed, I mean, it's a good thing they there weren't at full speed I know I have the Blog set up for these kind of notes, thoughts, and ramblings, but the way the board is set up, it seems that everyone looks for "View New Posts" first, or always. The Blog section is great, but it has to be incorporated into the site easier. That's more work, and that's a four letter word. Well, that's all for now, yes, I pau.... I will get the mag caught up in a few weeks. I will be on the mainland from like October 3 -19 I will be at Puerto Rico, office (Denver), Toledo, Chicago (iHobby), and then back home. Harry, you have been a God Send! Thank You!!!! Darryl, keep on kicken' my okole Dave P., don't stop yelling at me. Paul, parden my misteaks. Bill, thank you for being there Larry G, thank you, thank you, thank you, you are a true friend Tim A., keep on Truckin' Dennis, you are my proudest catch Tim B., thank thank thank you, First On Race Day!!!! (see you in few weeks) Wayne, from day one, you have been there, Mahalo Nui Loa!!!! (third door on the left, right?) Alex, your work inspires everyone, especially me. David T., your work amazes me, THANK YOU!, and sorry for making you work so hard. Mike Whatshisname...... sorry, forgot what I was going to say..... Ariel, I owe you tons, or at least Jersey Pounds I know I am forgetting a few, it's late, I'm doing this on the fly There are so many others who have made this mag, and me, what it is, and I am, today. I can go back to Roy Sorenson, Mike Carroll, Don Farhni, and the unsung heroes of the years gone by. But that's about it for now. I need to get some Kleenex..... And some more JD... Thank you, all my friends, family, supporters, believers, and everyone who takes the time to read, and I hope enjoy, my baby. Thanks for the past ten years, and the next ten years ahead. I am here to stay, and I hope you stay here too!
