Valspar Kustom Kolors paint questions.
Gregg replied to Dan Helferich's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The sad thing is they pulled the line. I have only used their reducers. I have been able to spray any type of clear on them. They did attack Revell plastics though -

Those darn PC's. Too bad that happens, like, NEVER!!!!! with a Mac! Just kidding I did lose my hard drive once, or twice, but that's a mechanical failure. If anyone ever needs their cookies reset, let me know. No wise comments on this one..... -
I have stood over the shoulder of Mark Smackal and Dave McGowan, who use huge machines. I am amazed at what you can do with a lathe. It's not so much the size, but the tools that you make yourself to create some incredible parts. Just watching these masters in action was an honor. I have seen some of Augie's demo's over the years before he left us, and he had that Sherline done to a science. I guess it depends on a few things: What you can afford Can you afford the space What do you want to to do with it, ie: be limited to manini things (sorry, small things) Upgradeable? CNC-adaptable? It's a lot of research, searching, and asking questions It's one of those things where I wish someone would just have an easy answer for me/us/you/them/er/uh/duh Trying out different ones may help you decide I look at the parts and accessories for the units to see what I am getting in to This is a long standing series I have had in the works for years. Hope to get working on it soon. my one cent (recession, sorry)

Olle, you are banned for life!!!! -
Great job! Only thing I would add would be some door panel color, to bring out the depth of the door openings. Usually, a wash of thinned down black works great, but in this case, the lighter color, a grayish color or mix of the body color and black would be perfect. Check out the real car pic, you can see what I mean. It helps the illusion of the eye that makes it look more like a real car. My two cents.

What's next for the automobile?
Gregg replied to Jairus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My two cents on the Rotary When I was in Puerto Rico in `06, I got to witness an incredible bunch of Rotary's screaming down the 1/4. I think the best one we saw was under six seconds, yes, six seconds, on the quarter mile. Here's a short video of one of them. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/PuertoRicoRota...oRicoRotary.mov -
I went across country with my family in one of these, a `72 Westfalia Camper back in 74 or so. Drove it from CA to Alabama, then back, stopped in Salt Lake City and pops sold it. Flew back to Hawaii from there. That was a blast.... Memories.... all we have left sometimes. I love this thread! It is the most hit thread on the forum. You guys have kept this going for a long time. Thanks!
