  1. Very kool!! Nice nose! I may do the same - graft the '41 nose to the '48 body - since I like the '41 Fords better. And with the Goodguys reissue coming in '07, I can have an extra body handy if I mess up.
  2. Ken, I think you're right. Light tan with brown Sharpie "stitching" for a baseball glove look. Right on!
  3. Thanks guys. Actually, the springer is from a 1/12 Imex Bad Boy. That's the out-of-box length. It's a little too long for the kit it comes with, but perfect for the choppers! I have a Shaker Trike, and plan to use that springer fork on my Aces Wild build next. Chop on...
  4. Thank you both for the reviews! IMO, Torch is the best looking RM chopper yet. I may even build it box stock.
  5. David, that looks great! I've seen your work elsewhere online, and am always impressed and enjoy watching your builds come together. This 612 is no different. Beautiful paint work and wheel choice! If I may be so bold as to suggest possibly sleeving the rear wheels in Pegasus 23" sleeves for a big & little performance look? Just a thought.
  6. With only a few hours a week, it's a long slow process but I got the colors on the bike this past weekend. The red is Tamiya Metallic Red over their Light Gunmetal. The seat is still bare styrene, but I'm thinking Wimbledon White with Satin clear for that and the grips. Gotta have a springer More pix here: http://fivets.fotki.com/my_projects/revell_112_bobber/
  7. Craig, I saw that one. If you notice, the seat is new, and the curved shotgun exhaust pipes are new too - and cool! I've heard that the Bone Daddy is a mash-up of the Crusader & Aces Wild. Crusader billet wheels, and no news parts at all. Save your money and buy another Torch, IMO. Did anyone notice in the photos from iHobby in Chicago that the Revell poster for the Gambler & Fireball choppers said "Coming in July 2007"? I hope not, there are some really cool billet wheel options in those two!
  8. WOW. So beautiful. You should be proud, Irvin. Congratulations on the award!
  9. James, great to see you here! That Jeep is looking great so far. I love the cargo in the back, and the winch too.
  10. Definitely, Jake! We're on the same wavelength - springer front, peanut tanks, suicide shifters. You da man! Keep us posted, cuz I'll be placing an order!
  11. Yes please - On the Bench, then Off the Bench!
  12. Wow, I am impressed. That is a nice list! '58 Impala 2n1, '49 Merc Custom 2n1, '41 Chevy Pickup, '48 Ford 'vert, '34 Ford hot rod, '32 Deuce hot rod in 1/8! Thanks Revell!!
  13. I use that Paasche booth also, and it works great for paint fume evacuation. I spray in a room in my basement and, outside of that room, nobody would know I was spraying lacquers. I route my vent tube out my little sliding basement window. I made a plywood window insert with the tube epoxied into it. When not in use, the insert/tube rest on the inside windowsill. When it's paint time, slide open the window, pop in the insert, and spray. I highly recommend you get one of these booths!
  14. I'm a big fan of those salt flat specials too but...I like the Aoshimas on this Camaro. The size is just right, and it's got a great pro touring look. Just my two cents. Nice fender flares, by the way!
  15. Whew, that's a lot of half-round. That black body is sooooo nice!
  16. Looking good, Irvin! I enjoy seeing everyone's rendition of these kits.
  17. I've used the "headlights" off of a Hotwheels RigorMotor 1/64 diecast. You get two shift knobs for 99 cents or less. The RigorMotor just got re-released in 2006, so they're all over right now too. It's a ripoff of Grandpa Munster's dragster - a coffin-shaped dragster. They're a little big - wouldn't fit in a 1/25 scale palm - but aren't cartoonishly large, especially for trad hot rods. Another kit source is the Monogram 1/24 '30 Woodie. That has a chrome shifter & skull knob.
  18. You nailed the stance, Billy! Great job, nice paint, and way to go on the "pre-paint BMF" work!
  19. Marc, that's lookin' mean right out of the gates! For what it's worth (not much), I like the wheels under it in these photos. They're tough lookin.
  20. Good to see your work again, Steve! I was just wondering the other day where you went. The chopper looks great. Nice save on the fender too!
  21. Welcome Mark! Post some pix of those desert racers, would ya?
  22. Welcome JR! Good to have you here. I enjoyed meeting and talking to you at NNL East. (I don't think I'm old enough to know about your "stay awake methods." Maybe someday...)
  23. Nice job, Andy! Your engine bay detailing is perfect. Keep up the great work.
  24. Nice one! It's got the look. Is that tinted plastic sheet you used for the windows?
