  1.  The styling is great and the workmanship top-notch! I see a few ideas I'll have to "borrow" - hehe. Great build, Lyle.
  2. Ken, thanks for the Big Lots tip! I just stopped by my local store at lunch and got a "springer donation chopper" for $6. Maybe I'll cut the forks closer to stock length and have a springer frontend for my old school bobber build.
  3. Gregg, If it's for your chopper you're building for NNL West, and you can wait - a leading resin supplier will be offering one sometime in the next month or two...
  4. The raked out Crusader looks great! I had that one first, then got an Aces Wild a few weeks back. My Aces will be raked like yours. Keep up the great work!
  5. Jeff, that looks great with the decals on that color! Nice pipe work too.
  6. Wicked! That is looking so good. I love your use of the skull air cleaner with the addition of the two venturi tubes. Springer fork looks to be from an $8 diecast I've seen on eBay? I just picked up a Shaker Trike that will donate the stretched springer forks to my next chopper.
  7. Did that car just eat a canary? One of you "modern day mudslingers" should graft some '67 GTO clips on there and mimic a red Hotwheels I saw a few years back. Definitely some custom possibilities here for retro-look, pro-touring ponycars.
  8. I like it! Great color choices.
  9. Nicely done, Billy! I always liked that color scheme. I even thought of doing my Lindberg '66 Chevelle up in black and gold with pro touring wheels. Don't sweat the paint issues - it looks good from here. "Best Darn Garage in Town!"
  10. Old enough to know better, still too young to care. That said, here's what the General was offering that fateful year...
  11. Thanks Dave! I always love west coast show coverage - SO much cool stuff!
  12. Perfect! Just how I likes 'em. 8) To the bar...
  13. (Written words fail...)
  14. One of these days I'm going to use this method, instead of installing a tonneau cover, like I always do.
  15. I've found that Castrol Super Clean (CSC) will take the lacquer undercoat off, but it takes a while. Typically, the chrome plating is gone within an hour but the undercoat takes 2-3 days. I just drop the parts in and leave them in there for the week. Definitely use rubber gloves for removing the stripped parts from the CSC bath. Auto parts stores usually have "solvent gloves" that are rubber and fairly inexpensive that are made to protect from all sorts of nasty chemicals.
  16. SLICK! 8) Nice work, Darin.
  17. A board build-off sounds great. Count me in! Beautiful bike, Lyle. That one will be in the magazines soon.
  18. Hi Don! Welcome.
  19. Great build there, Joe! That #8 does look good on the old black & silver. I was just talking to a buddy about how cool it used to be watching that color scheme slice & dice the pack at Talladega with less than 10 laps to go. Ah, the good ol' days...
  20. Yeah Billy! Great lookin' hot rod! Black and chrome reverses - I love it.
  21. Here are the beginnings of my bobber. Crusader frame, I dialed back the rake and added the triangulation bar up front to make it all look closer to stock. Added seat risers, a fender mount, and bobbed and thinned the rear fender. Wheels will be wires for final assembly. I am LOVIN' this build! I have another Crusader kit already and the other three chopper kits on order.
  22. BLUUUUUUUU!! Thanks for sharing another of your masterpieces. They are all a joy to behold, this one included. Very nice.
  23. WOW! That is one mean Charger. I love it.
  24. Another beauty! Time well-spent on that interior, Lyle. And DeSoto bumpers look so good on those '57s. Nice job.
