  1. Ahh. Its great that you guys at the US has such model car competitions. over here, I have only seen military stuff. And not many people venture into plastic models. That said, most of my friends are too busy getting their faces glued the their computers. There are a quite a few diecast collectors, but when it comes to DIY, nothing beats plastic models. I wonder how can I get my friends to join me?
  2. Hey..hi guys.. Just curious if any of you guys also do diecast apart for the usual plastic models? Here are some of mine.
  3. i'd say its real...
  4. This shows why people (or maybe just me) strive for simple and yet elegant looking models. WELL DONE!!
  5. nice looking JDM!
  6. How did you guess?
  7. Cool pink magnum..mine is silver..and those rims are HUGE!!
  8. is that a metal diecast kit...? nice looking charger there..
  9. A small update. Decals have been finalized. p/s, some guy on another forum said - : you need to take care lots of things that you overlooked/rushed. 1) the windows at the rear is slanted to the right 2) the rear spoiler ( middle stand ) is way out of propotion 3) the rear lamps are not well painted 4) paint job on the rear fenders ( C pillar ) areas are rough 5) some sprue excess on the rear spoiler and the cement seems overflowed on the right part of the spoiler.
  10. Nick, I cant agree more with you. Seriously. the Evo 4,5,6 are among the best out there. But the X. Darn. Really ugly.
  11. Nice looking beemer you got there. Too bad fjm/tmy/hsg/rvl doesnt make newer models from BMW. I kinda like them.
  12. AS driven by Tommi Makinen back in 1999. hehe. Hope its likeable. Took me more than a month to complete this. It is not perfect. Some monior paint blotches near the front grille, but that is the only noticeable one. the rest is fine.
  13. Ohh.. Nice builds.. Too bad I'm a little too late here, but following your progress, it does look awesome. I did watch the show once, and boy was it good. I wonder where can I find the book.... Cant wait to see the completed pics.
  14. A little update. Body sprayed with metallic silver and red. The outcome does look quite odd though..
  15. Tamiya is fine. The ones I did so far is good. Fujimi, the first few are bad, but as time goes on, their quality improved a lot ! As for Aoshima, I do not have any experience with it because their prices here are not cheaq at all.
  16. Nice, Mike. How did you get the silver into the center of the lights? I was thinking of dabbing some silver paint on some toothpick and slowly doing it that way. I cant find any finer tip silver marker. (Yup, I'm using a marker pen). Oh, after looking long and hard at at box art, it will be changed to red.
  17. It has been quite a while since I last posted anyhting here, so here is my first WIP for 2k9. Fitment is not good at all. The chassis has to be squeezed in before it can mount on to the body. Other than that, all is fine. As for body color, I think the car will be dark blue. Feedback are welcomed at this stage.
  18. This is my first attempt art making a NASCAR. Still in WiP stage. Havent clearcoated yet. The rest is done.
  19. The best part about modeling is that there is no right or wrong way of doing things. It is your model, you decide what you want to built. ( Unless its a group build ) Although I am quite used to people saying things like how the model should be, and how it should not be, I do get quite annoyed at times. But like all hobbies, there are bound to be such people around.
  20. Hi guys ! Today is Christmas Eve and I want to take this opportunity to wish all that are celebrating Christmas a Merry Christmas. Although Santa ain't coming to my place.
  21. That's a nice build. I thought I'd never see another one being build. Some pics of mine, if you don't mind.
  22. Personally, I build cuz I like cars. Whatever that come to me, I'll build it. But sometimes (actually, it's most of the time), the local dudes at some forums tend to have their views that cars build should look as realistic as possible. I agree on that, but what I don't seem to agree on is that they enjoy nitpicking. No joke. They'll find the smallest part they can find and nitpick. I realize that not many of my local people can actually appreciate the car for what it is, not what it isn't. Looks like they have a long way to mature, eh? But anyway, I just do my cars at my own pace and I seldom bother about whatever those guys say. You may think that I don't accept constructive criticism, but then again, there is a limit to which constructive criticism goes. My dad likes my build, and also advices me well enough. He is indeed my guardian savior. Luckily the guys at this forum appreciates cars for what is it, and seldom go beyond that point. Kudos to you guys.
  23. Completed. I may wire the engine at a later date.
  24. Hi guys, Just want to share with you guys some of my DIY userbars. I had some time so I photoshopped a few. Hope you guys like it.
