I was a little careless. I did not sand the seats before I sprayed them. Yes, Tamiya Masking Tape never peels paint off under normal situations. If it does come off, then it has something to do with my primer or my sanding. I am using Tamiya Masking Tape, btw. Roughly US$ 3.50

Body has been primed. Quite pleased with the results. Overall shot Rear and Side view. I tinted those windows. Seems to look better. Recaro seats. Well, if you must know, when i was removing the masking tape for the seats, it peeled the paint off in big big pieces. Decided to use my backup Recaros. I would reuse the stock seats on other cars that deserves it. Some feedback please. :feedback: I'll be using my other set of rims from the Magnum.

Should I quit modeling?
ericmaxman replied to ericmaxman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No, I will never give up. Scale modeling is my passion. I won't give up just because my mom does not approve me. I shall do cars until as long as my eyes and hand can still hold and see the plastic. -

Yeah, scale modeling can kill some time when the weather does not permit me to go out. But I'd rather do scale modeling than playing computers, honestly. You guys are so lucky to have separate places for modeling. I have to make do with my small work area, which has to be juggled between cars and computers. But that is not the big deal. I just have to be more careful in the future to prevent my mom from exploding again. -
Nick, this is one of my favorite cars around. Yeah, I do like the way you did it. If only someone did it in showroom stock form.........

Guys, Thanks so much for the feedback. I really appreciated it. Well, as you guys guessed, the root, is not just modeling. The same thing occurred when I was doing computers. As in hardware assembly and stuff like that. The cause is her mood. As you can see, her mood swings like, err, very fast. One second its really nice, but a few seconds later, she'll be insane ! She's in her early 50's, so Dad guessed that it has something to do with her err, " that one" . I feel, the only way I can get to model is when she is not around, or when she is in a better mood. Or even do when she is not looking. It is true that she does not like to collect stuff like this, so the best I can do is just let it be. So far, she only complained yesterday, today is relatively fine though. -

Hmm. On my side, I will only get my total freedom at 21 years old. 3 more years to go. To be honest, the only reason why she does not like me doing model cars is because of my dad. To her, anything that goes wrong is because of him. She does not like the way he does stuff. Not to say that he does it wrong, but more of she wants it her way. Very immature, yes. I won't dismiss that she will throw my model cars away, as she has thrown some of my car and computer magazines before. Even my dad says that she does not respect people's properties. Talking to her can only solve the problem in a short term, as by the next day, she would be back to her usual self. I can't wait to get out of home, really. -
Just nice amount of CF. Not too much. I like it. Cool rims too.

I agree with what you guys said. Each and every word. Yeah, my mom can say all she wants, but I ain't changing my mind. I like modeling, she doesn't. I know her background is not very good, and maybe, just maybe she does not like this expensive hobby... -
Gee~ My mom keeps complaining about my hobby. She calls me names. ######. She says that she would prefer that I go for more outdoor activities. The worst part is that she keep blaming my dad for introducing me to this hobby. What's wrong if I do something I like? I really hate her for that bossy attitude. Seriously. Come on, I go out walking once in a while, cycling as well. What else would she want me to do? Fishing? It has been years since I last fished. Not to say I don't want, but it is just that I can't find the time to go out. Not caught up with modeling, but rather helping with the chores at home etc. Her narrowminded-ness really pisses my whole family off.

Okay. No problem then. Its completed.

Hi all. I have just completed my Hasegawa Subaru Legacy RS. Decided to be finished in flat black as I have never used that color before. I do hope that you guys would like it. Some feedback please. Cheers. Well, I can say that the car was fun to build, save for the fact that the front lights were a nightmare trying to fit them on. Other than that, the number plates have these two little notches that sticks out, and makes the decal look so darn ugly. One of the wipers also did not fit in too well. Maybe its just that my kit is old.
-
Nope. I don't have a tinting film that is that big. And to be honest, I really don't know whether should I do the decals for the silver linings going round the body.
-
80% completion.
-
Not too late ! What do you mean by semi flat black?
-
Some update. Body done with flat black.

Can't change email add?
ericmaxman replied to ericmaxman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Gregg. It works now. -
I wanted to change my email address, which is from my Hotmail to my GMail. But it keeps saying that the email is already in the records. Why? I even registered a new GMail two minutes ago and still cannot. Can anyone explain?

Vista users beware!
ericmaxman replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh yeah. 512MB was like more than enough for XP. Even back in 2004, 256MB was considered more than enough. Now look at Vista, minimum 1GB. Recommended 2GB. Imagine the future Windows. "Minimum 32GB RAM". It could be. -
Guys, It has been quite some time since I last posted here. I just got myself a Revell Ward Burton Caterpillar NASCAR. I got is for less than UD$10. Haha. But I do need some resource pictures, and if you guys can point them out to me, I will be so grateful. Regards, Eric

Vista users beware!
ericmaxman replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, the thing is quite simple really, I don't see a point to use Vista. I know that the eye candy looks promising, but it taxes the CPU, RAM and graphics card a lot. I am happy with XP. As for you installation of Vista, you're not the only guy that is losing hair. I know a guy, who managed to install SP1, BUT could not recognize a simple USB card reader. Imagine that. One of the greatest OS in the world fails to recognize a simple card reader. 2008 was supposed to be grand. Why not? DirectX 10, Aero interface, BitLocker bla bla bla. I mean, or rather, its just my opinion that Microsoft is doing their marketing well, otherwise none of us would be using Vista. Suggestion? Well, Ubuntu and Knoppix are pretty user friendly now. -
Viruses On The Board
ericmaxman replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What antivirus do you use? If you are using NOD32, it could potentially show some virus. I'm using Avira, so far so good. And oh yeah, what browser are you using? -
What are your needed kits?
