  1. more pictures!!! still a few more pieces to go onto the chassis before im done with it, then i have to paint the body, but i have no paint of the color i want so it may be a week or so till i can get it.
  2. also go to electronics sections of certain stores, they have all sorts of good things there for models. like really really small wire, shrink wrap, and other things.
  3. i agree, i learned alot just from making basic 3D shapes, like cubes, rectangles, pyramids. it teaches you attention to detail and how to get accurate measurements. because in my opinion the big difference between something made well out of styrene and something that looks horrible is the corners, clean corners make things look tons better, so just practice making basic shapes, like said before, ice chests, speaker boxes, car batteries, plenum covers. and then move on to more complex stuff like twin screw superchargers, engine blocks, spoke wheels, frames, and so on. there are tons of good tutorials out there to get you started.
  4. thanks! im still looking for a way to make the nitrous kit for the engine, would wiring the nitrous kit, battery, and fuel cell up to the front of the car look overly detailed? all of that is in the back or maybe ill move it to the passenger seat.
  5. thanks! the only thing else i might ad is maybe a nitrous kit, still deciding on that.
  6. that looks great! i should get a truck model sometime and try it on for size
  7. so if you guys remember my last chop (mustang gt dragster, MAJOR disaster) i try to remember not to but im trying to learn from my mistakes since it was my first chop. anyways ive started a new project because of my crazy love for all mustamgs. So basically what im doing is taking a gt500 (revells new streetburner kit) and using one of the revell streetburner prostreets, i think, its the 56 bel air as the chassis and the engine from the 78 Z28 camaro because i love the "no BS" look to it and it fits very well, even though in the picture its crooked because the transmission isnt supported. now on to the pictures!! please tell me all your comments on the stance, it looks pretty good to me but i want more opinions. first up, the stance/ engine height picture. not sure if im cutting the stock hood or not using one at all (im sorry if it seems like im copying the guy who did the amazingly good job on the twin turbo mustang gt dragster, im really not trying to at all) heres a look inside, pretty much still tinkering with the frame, not totally happy yet. if you want more pictures or have any suggestions at all (i take constructive criticism well, just dont be rude) tell me! i need all the help i can get learning how to do a good chop.
  8. alright so i got a revell 79 camaro Z28 and i need some help finding a good picture of what a nitrous kit would look like installed on this car, but it has to be the version of the engine (two different versions in this kit) that has the twin screw supercharger, dual carbs, and the big scoop thing on top (someone save me from my lack of classic car engine knowledge). Now this model will NOT be in the body that came with it, and in the body its in now the room is in good supply in front of the engine but there isnt much room in the back. so if there are different variations that will work id love for most of the hard ware to be up front. id post pictures of my project but im afraid it would kinda spoil it, id love to keep it on the down low till i know it will turn out well. this is only my second major chop so if anyone has a picture or a website that can help me by all means tell/show me! thanks
  9. i just wish i had that kind of money! need a job..
  10. being a newbie when it comes to custom plumbing on my models i wish i could do brake lines, nitrous kits, spark plugs, and etc as clean as that. oh well, back to fiddling with the stupid hoses for my gt500 again!
  11. that sure is perty haha i wish my parents would let me paint inside, it would make things so much easier
  12. saw this today at hobby lobby and almost bought it, too new so i decided to wait for someone to bite the bullet and buy one first. ive been drawing out a really neat project for one of these if the kits pretty good quality. so how is the fitment and quality of the wheels engine and body?
  13. alright so i just recently saw the revell GT500 at my hobby lobby, is there a GT500KR on the way or already out? if so since its a 40% everything (if you have the coupons) at hobby lobby i might buy one, or two. ohhhh man ive got some evil ideas to what i could do with one!!!
  14. haha i heard about someone trading a paperclip up to a yacht, not a string. but both stories sound to good to be true on a paintball message board i used to be a regular at a guy traded a paintball with a face painted on it up to a about $800 paintball gun.
  15. alright thanks, i dont want to have to buy an expensive engine (in my book) and screw it up due to my lack of experience
  16. i guess ill go pick up a few model funny car models from hobby lobby when they go on sale. my parts box is tiny, looks like ill need a bigger one.
  17. alright, still $7 for two wheels just doesnt set well in my stomach, i guess ill just wait for a 40% off hobby lobby coupon and go get a few of those new drag models ive been eyeing for a while, atleast i can get a engine and the wheels for about $12. it just makes me feel weird having left over chassis and frames...
  18. thank you! bookmarked! on #2 on paint does that mean it should work fine with automotive primer and regular paint? and are ross gibson engines pretty high quality stuff?
  19. So this will be the first time ive got any sort of resin model. All ive done is regular box kits and minor customs. now to my question. What differences are there that i should know about? Do the parts take some sort of prep or are they ready to go as is? if there is anything else i need to go about my transition by all means tell me. id hate for my first experience in resin to be frustrating... thanks
  20. so ive been looking around trying to find some wheels to finish i funny car project and i cant seem to find a set of wheels ANYWHERE unless its in another kit for less than $20, and i hate to buy a perfectly good model just to raid the wheels. Im pretty much looking for bicycles in the front and steam rollers in the back, thats the only way i know to describe them. ive looked at every modeling site ive found but no luck thanks
  21. are you serious!? i was just there early last summer and saw nothing.. ARGH! im kicking myself right now, worst of all is i was having a hard time finding a souvenir...
  22. im 16, i built tanks every now and then from the time i was about 13 to maybe mid 14, then i picked up a viper model (first car) completely screwed it up and i stopped modeling till i was 15 and have been building cars non stop till then. oh yeah, and i managed to revive most of the viper model..
