  1. that looks great! i really wish i had the skills to do something like that
  2. my mom is always taking my mustang to "work" and leaves will a full tank of gas and comes back with 200 miles on the odometer more and barely enough gas to get to a gas station. plus she makes up excuses why she has to try it to work when we have 3 other vehicles, some are even more fuel efficient
  3. i tried for windveil blue but i couldnt find the exact color paint
  4. thanks
  5. are there any companies that still make fox body mustangs? id really like to find one.
  6. no problem, i have a picture of the finished mustang in my thread (should be below this one) sorry but i have a really good looking picture of the back of the car but the dang thing is too big of a file to upload
  7. thanks! i just finished it this afternoon, if i had taken more time i could have made it better but hey im happy, plus it looks good on my desk. i only had one fitment problem, the front bumper, im sure you guys will notice edit- dang... i have a really cool picture of the back end of the car but its too big to upload
  8. why yes! i just finished that kit this afternoon, i only had one real problem, i had fitment problem with my front bumper, i fixed it as best i could. Of course im still very inexperienced and the bumper fix doesnt look good, but hey im learning edit: im new to the hobby too, mostly, im just now making a transition from model planes/tanks/ large artillery to cars. i didnt focus on details much, just wanted to make it as best as i possibly could, whenever i try to get the details too much i ruin the whole thing. i really wanted this to turn out well, if youve seen many of my other posts im kinda in love with mustangs
  9. Very good looking paint! i really love the color too
  10. yes i had a small bit of trouble with the hood, once i get it seated right it sits fine, just annoying to raise up and lower
  11. that looks great, i never would have thought of the leds i picked up this kit yesterday, i only got to paint the body and a few other parts, did you have any problems with fitment?
  12. bonnet? i'm sorry... i'm not quite sure what that part is. So far the only piece thats went together "awkwardly" was the carbs, they didn't want to seat right
  13. well i have a viper kit i "totaled" (did a horrible job on paint, so bad i wouldn't dare post it) and i will try the weathering techniques from the military models on the viper model first so i will see how it looks on something that started out as white plastic as apposed to the plastics in the other models, they feel different. if it all works out good i will use it on the 1937 ford coupe, right now i put the second to last coat on the body, ill sand it down real nice and post it up for you guys! its already looking good by the way i decided to paint it flat black, i like experimenting
  14. alright so ive done alot of model tanks, airplanes, and other military models but this is one of the first times ive actually tried a car, and so far its turned out absolutely great. i started a 1970s boss mustang, still working/painting, im taking it very slow i also just started a 1937 ford coupe, im painting it flat black right now and plan to have a nice glossy red engine block and red interior. NOTE: in the pic of the ford coupe body nothing has been done, just wanted to show you guys what it looks like almost forgot! the engine is not glued together yet!
  15. thanks guys, i didnt want to do a whole body cage, just something small on a body for a model ive screwed up just to try it out
  16. how do you guys make the roll cage for your models? ive been studying them and they look kinda like the "trees" from the model kits, if so how to you melt/glue/attach the ends toghether? Thanks! ive only been here a day and i think my knowledge of how to do models has doubled, if not TRIPLED!
  17. haha thats neat. my first model (about 5 years ago when i was about 10 or 11) was a "snap'n build", or similar brand, airplane. stuff like that is neat, kinda handy when someone wants to try modeling but isnt sure if they want something that will take over 4 hours or more excluding paint drying time
  18. thanks! im absolutely in love with the color, since they didnt make many mustangs in this color its pretty hard to come bye around here so it makes me feel unique if only they made the gt500 in windveil blue
  19. do you mean first model of any kind or the first one we had to paint? the first kit i can remember getting was a tank, i think it was an American WWII tank. the first kit i ever had to paint was a blue angels f-14 hornet, it came out so horribly (i was very young) that i only keep it as a reminder to pay attention to what im doing. i mostly made tanks, airplanes, and military pieces like that until a few months back when i got a viper gts (i think) and never finished it because many pieces were damaged so then i got a 70s boss mustang and im taking my time in building it
  20. one day ill own a gt500 (the real one) for right now im fine with my 07 6banger mustang. im going by hobby lobby today to pick up some paint, it looks like this time it will be just like all the other times i go to hobby lobby "just for paint" and i come back with 2 or 3 model kits edit- horray for windveil blue! my baby-
