  1. How are you finding this kit to build? Is it easy assembly or finichy? Does it contain a fair parts count even for being a curbside? Does it have much flash or ill-cast parts? Reason I ask is I am contemplating ordering a kit from Japan, and don't want to get something I will be sorely disappointed with once I get it.
  2. Alclad chrome is a bit more reflective, but the Spaz-Stix stuff isn't bad at all. It can be used to duplicate polished Aluminum pretty convincingly.
  3. LS1 swap with a nice set of wheels.
  4. Good call on the color choice, and I believe with a good fade-in it will go wonderfully with the mural on the sleeper.
  5. ^^ Available at your local Hobby Lobby in the crafts section ^^
  6. It really takes seeing this body in person to appreciate the work that has gone into it to get it this far. By the way, the Ford Cammer would be the logical choice for this one!
  7. I have the same brand as you (From Hobby Lobby) for the 'glitter'. The scale looks to be about Bass Boat flake size, and I must have 30 different colors. I have heard of the flocking (as a matter of fact in Marks tutorial here in this section) and have been wanting to give it a shot.
  8. Wow, that was a long read. My head hurts and my boots are dirty, but I think I got the jist of it all. With that in mind, in either General or Tips/Tricks/Tutorial; would it be possible to pin info (or link to pertaining websites) on where to get certain things (like a thread that deals with who makes rivet detail and how to get it). That way, we wouldn't have (in theory anyway) 18 different threads asking for the same thing in 6 months?
  9. Very impressive, and I think I will have to go grab some 1/32 wheels for my double drop lowboy I am wanting to build!
  10. Just a few more cans of Tamiya spray....and one of the wheelsets I ordered from Strada Sport (Hobby Design 20" set 'E').
  11. You are a scale model builder.......the situation described above is normal! (admit it, you are one of us after all!)
  12. And to think that car could still place or win today!
  13. Chris, thanks for the straightening of the rumor. I need to get back down to his shop here soon anyway, to drop off the engine for my 1991 GT Mustang. I could ask him about the cars then (he is also doing some work on my 2.3T for my 1984 GT Turbo Mustang as well).
  14. Thanks Romell.......I think I can take this, fine-tune the hinge for appearances sake, and use it to hinge the doors on my FOX Mustang project!
  15. January 1st, 2011 (or there rightabouts) we will start the 'Under Glass' portion of the community build. We have the whole second half of 2010 to build the Foxes.
  16. Dang Harry; after reading your reply, I need a cigarette!
  17. That made me feel totally and completely inadequate just looking at it! I must go huddle up in the corner of the shower and cry now. Absolutely amazing Mark!
  18. I do what Harry does, and it seems to work fine for me. once on the hose, I used a blunted #11 blade and a black ink wash to simulate the 'grooves' in the clamp. Edit: could this be considered a trick, tip, or tutorial?
  19. Beautiful model......too bad he still doesn't have the car as I live 5 minutes from his shop here in Dayton and I could get you some good reference pics. Rumor has it though that George himself destroyed the car (won't go into why).
  20. Well everyone.....today is the OFFICIAL start to this community build. Let the Fox mayhem begin!!
  21. Thanks Mike.....looks like one more kit I will have to add to my search!
  22. Left-over engine is going to my White-Freightliner COE build, along with the spare air-ride set-up from a hacked Pete359 kit. Decals will be tossed into the 'spares' pile for now. Got some angle to finish the frame and got the engine finish-assembled and rigged (wires and hoses run). Maybe I'll even have some progress pics up soon. Sleeper is just a 'double bed' now, as I joined the two bunks together and made the wall-mountings for it. But I have some other things planned that you can see through the greenhouse glass..
  23. Weatherman says it might rain Wednesday now, but I am going anyway as I need to pick up some parts for my 1991 GT and my 1984 GT Turbo.......plus do some horse-trading for some parts for my 1971 Suzuki T500R. I'll grab you the pics! How's the weather there in Orlando? Dad says it's hot and rainy lately (he lives in St.Cloud).
  24. Is it crazy that the trailer will end up shorter than the tractor?!
