  1. I am looking for a caster to replicate some two-piece STERNs (Saleen Style). Does someone already cast them, or would anyone want to cast them (I have 3 of them in one of my kits....either here or in Florida. You could say I really need the fourth!)? If you would cast them, I myself would take 2 sets plus one spare wheel.
  2. I don't know Harold.......I will have to look when I take a trip back to Florida. I think dads Hemicars are the same way, one with and one without belts (and both are '66s). I know shoulder straps didn't come out until later, as moms gunboat of a 1970 Imperial had both lap and shoulder belts, plus rear belts in all 3 seating locations. Either way, it is tragic for someone to lose their life in an auto accident (and call me cold, but it is also a waste of a good car as well).
  3. Another Monogram 1992 Mustang GT Convertible (I must really have a thing for FOX Mustangs...I want to build this as a Saleen SA10 clone; if I can convince any of our resin casters to cast me a set of STERN wheels [of which I have 3]), a can of Spaz-Stix Chrome, a can of Spaz-Stix Green-to-Gold, a can of Tamyia French Blue, and a can of Model Master Calypso Metallic Laquer (yes, this makes two cans of that color now). Almost forgot (actually I did, which is why this post is edited), a can of each Model Masters Fabric Red, Blue, and Black laquer.

    1/24 yamaha

I have the same kit somewhere in my stash...I was going to open up the nose, build the lens, and add headlight detail to convert it back to a street-legal bike.
  5. Eric, you are partly correct. The 1981 'Wild Breed' kit was to be the 1982 GT, but Ford had not settled on the GT nameplate when the kit was prototyped. One of the pics from Ford that MPC used for the mock-up and test shots carried the SS badge, and even though the real car became the GT, it was too late to correct the model. Speaking of, has anybody gotton anywhere with their started builds lately? No? Well, me either; but this weekend is looking good. Pics to come. vvv Mark and I must have been typing at the same time!! vvv
  6. Not to argue with you Harold, but one of my 65 Dodges did have front belts but the other one did not. The car that did not didn't even have the provisions in the floorpans for them. 1974 was when it was federally mandated as front belts were to be standard equipment, 1984 rears.
  7. Any wheel will work; technique is what we are after! Sign me up for the EXTREMELY interested list.

    2007 GT500

Your glasses are fine right where they are Matt. What I can see looks fine....Orange Pearl it looks like?
  9. I can see where you are coming from on this question..........seems like a chance for some decal companies to step up and mfgr a set of superdetail decals (airbag, evap, trunk jack, belt routings, engine code labels).
  10. Maybe the Walter P. Chrysler Museum archives?
  11. Personally, I would remove the mold lines from the upright bars, and either Alclad or Spaz-sticks it. If I had the cash, time, and more part going that way, I would send it out for re-chroming.
  12. Not really. I am assuming you are talking about the airbag stencil 'warning'? Might be something to look at for future builds though.
  13. I guess I should have grabbed the 2 at HobbyTown in Columbus then!!! Sad truth is, he will probably sell them to someone who doesn't know any better for way more than they are going for. Maybe we should ask him what makes them so 'rare'.
  14. Heck Jason, if you could cast a resin cowl hood for a Fox, you should have NO trouble with an automatic conversion!
  15. Looking good so far! You going to use the Bullitt wheels for the build as well, or go with a larger aftermarket set? Are you goint to rework the lower air intake to more closely resemble the GT350Rs or leave it fairly stock?
  16. Well Matt, I will try to get something done on it tonight or in the morning before I go to work. Pics won't be up for a little while though........curse the 14 builds going at once!
  17. Thank you for showing your dimensional measurements. Easy to scale up when you know the base measurements and starting scale!
  18. All above have been excellent ideas! I also use Safety Wire (being an aviation mechanic has some benefits to my hobby) for a lot of things. I have spools of .010", .020", .025", .032", .041" and some heavy .062" stuff, augmented by the bead wire in 24, 26, 28, and 30 gauge. We also have these things we use at work that are .032" braided cable.......when sprayed flat black can be used very effectively as cloth-wrapped lines. Also; the 20, 22, and 26 gauge twisted shielded wire we have can be used (once the plastic sleeve is stripped) for replicating braided line of various diameters.
  19. The hardest part of making the center console automatic selector would be the gear selector base (as it is grooved for the shifter stalk and has the clear gear indicator). Not oo hard though; I would imagine some .020" styrene and some crafting could get you a feasable unit.
  20. Well, the girlfriend calls them 'The Mullet of the automotive world' as they are a crossbreed of business and fun. So I say we form a 'Joe Dirt' section of the forum and they will be the ambassador of that section.
  21. A bottle of liquid mask (figured I would try it out), a can of Ford Calypso Metallic Laquer from Testors, the Hemi-Sphere rail kit, MCMs newest issue, a 2008 Bullitt Mustang kit, a 2007 Mustang GT500 kit, some Spaz-sticks acrylic clear, the newest 5.0 and Super Fords mag, and some Pegasus 23" wheels (the "T"s and Holli's). Now, if we count online ordering.......I will tell you when I have the products in hand (I can't remember all of them, but they were all custom wheels). Also, forgot about the .025" and .030" styrene rod, bad memory until I opened the bag of gooies up!
  22. Matt, it's looking good. I'm liking the front bumper idea, and the thoughts of fading the mural into the body color. Now, could you send me some motivation to work on my KW?
  23. Mike; glad you can use the body, and the Green paint was automotive paint (I believe yellow-can Easy-Off oven cleaner will remove it). My own GT conversion is waiting in the wings for me to finish up some other projects and for some other parts to show up. Jason, the Coupe is looking good and coming along nicely. What color is it going to be? I have nothing really to add to my own build, as I have been in Columbus for my weekend and have got nothing done on any of my builds!
  24. Very nice indeed. Looking forward to seeing this one complete.
