  1. Dave, the 2010 and 2011 engines are nothing alike, and look entirely different. Intake, cylinder heads, block....everything is different. The Coyote and the Modular look nothing alike.
  2. Jason, an idea for the tweed seats: tape off the sections you do not want the look on. 1) lay your base color, 2) take the colors that appear in the tweed area and make a vey thin consistancy of each color in seperate containers (think the consistancy of a wash), 3) take an old toothbrush and dip it into the 'wash' paint color, 4) flick most of the wash out of the toothbrush, and then with the brush pointed at the seat area, run your finger across the bristles of the brush until the paint starts to finely 'splatter' onto the surface, 5) repeat for each color used. As a final note, you can take a brush lightly moistened with thinner and somewhat blend the colors together. Coat with dullcoat and untape the seat.
  3. Perhaps my point got lost as well (or clouded, as I do refer to Street Hemi Orange a bit) there AzTom........my point was that the 'Hemi Orange' color placed on the automobile and 'Tor-Red' are no wheres near the same color. My point was that given the hue of 'Race Hemi Orange' is quite a bit more red than 'Street Hemi Orange' that it could be vaguely confused. Now, the engine color 'Street Hemi Orange' is a LOT closer to body color 'Hemi Orange' than 'Tor-Red' is and could be used in a pinch.
  4. has not set their status

Hey, Sorry it has taken me so long to get with you. It has been busy. But what ideas were you wanting to talk about?

  5. Radio Shack will have the .062" solder, along with some other sizes (plus a bunch of other things that can be used!).
  6. Tor-Red and Street Hemi Orange ARE NOT the same color....period. Tor-Red would be more in line with Race Hemi Orange, but even then it would be a far stretch of the imagination. Hemi Orange and Vitamin-C are a lot closer together than Tor-Red and Street Hemi Orange are. I have several cans of Mopar Street Hemi and Race Hemi orange in my stash of paints (as my screen name tells you, I am a Hemi guy first.......I just play with Fox Mustangs now as well), plus the Turquoise and old FireDome Hemi/Poly reds and Golds. Plus, if I am feeling frisky, I can board one of my jets back to dads place and have 2 original HemiCars to use for reference.
  7. This is PURE SPECULATION mind you but to the best of my vision and questioning so far, the 85 SVO will be a direct re-release of the original Monogram 1/24th kit of years ago. The rear spoiler was an attempt at an SVO spoiler by making an 'add-on' upper bi-plane and the enclosure for the lower wing based on the 1979-early84 3 piece spoiler. This is horribly incorrect for a true SVO, but with some putty work can be made to look accurate. It also means the suspension will be a compromise (based on the early Monogram 1979 Turbo Cobra/Indy Pace Car kit), as the SVO used a specific K-Member and Lincoln Towncar a-arms, brakes, and Master Cylinder. There will be the standard caster/camber plates versus the SVO specific 'Onion Head' units, and the intake will be the inline4 type versus the correct square4 type (the good news on the intake is the 87-88 TurboCoupe T-Bird intake will work on this engine). With all that, I am STILL VERY HAPPY that they are re-issueing it and will pick up many when they come out! Reasons for the 2010 versus the 2011 Mustang...........first year of the body style (and can be made into the subsequent 2011 bodystlye with a badge change), can be used to tool the GT500 in the 2010/2011 style, was the only year available when the tooling and die makers went to work on this kit, and overall we will be able to have a one-year-only body/engine combo versus the usual of having to make/kitbash/scratchbuild one.
  8. , , , , , Some of the engine shots in progress. Almost done with it and starting to add weathering to the engine, along with the lines and air hoses. , The last one is the 40' to 48' stretch trailer I am working on to go with the tractor. Never mind the gear not being under it, I just set it out to get a sense of proportion.
  9. , , , , , That will do it for tonight. I have more engine shots, and will get them sorted out and up soon.
  10. , , , , , Again, as time allows I will have more up. The driver was extremely cool in letting me take shots of his truck, and was quite happy to help when I told him I was building a KW W900Aerodyne. I cannot thank him enough for the pics he let me snap.
  11. , , , , , I will post more when time allows. FlatbedKW.....I am a jet mechanic based out of Dayton, oh.
  12. For header pipes, try .062" solder. The stuff you have would be great for the rest of the undercar exhaust!
  13. Got you added in there Michael. You going to be at the meeting this month (I am already planning to attend)? I just got back from Grove City a few minutes ago, and was up in Gahannah this afternoon.
  14. Never too late to join in! I got you all updated and added to the list. Meanwhile (I will have pics soon, I hope), I finished up the K-Member/motor mounts/power steering rack for the convertible and am moving to the rear to fix the lower control arms/shock mounts/add upper control arm detail and brake lines/details. Headers are done, new carb selected and painted, and heads getting worked to resemble GT40P irons. I have also cut the convertible top well and repositioned it to get a better fit for the rear wheelhouses.
  15. No, Im will not be making a daycab from the scrap. I did think about it, but it would be too involved for me to do, so the scrap will be used to test paint/techniques on.
  16. Engine's looking good Matt. You were right Jordan.........that is surely 'golden' on the underside. That is one NICE coupe Mark! I will hopefully have some more done on the 'vert this weekend.....keep up the work guys. You all inspire me!
  17. Yeah, most of the FEP guys can be a bit touchy about an identity-swapped car. Blown 5.4 sounds like she would motivate the coupe pretty well! Nice looking car.....I have an 83GLX vert, an 84 GT Turbo, and an 86 GT TTop/5spd for my 4eye cars, and a 91GT to satisfy my Aero 'Stang needs.
  18. I wasn't able to get any of the inside of the sleeper (the guy was pretty cool with letting me snap pics of his truck, even tilting the hood) but with his wife with him it wasn't in the cards. That and I was on the clock and supposed to be working on my jets kind-of limited my time to take pics. I will upload more Wednsday when I get off work. I also have a few of his 48' drop deck trailer too if anyone is interested.
  19. Thanks for the heads-up on the EBay frame material Dennis....I will have to check that out.
  20. That's what I was thinking guys...looks like it's time to go buy yet another kit I will never get finished!
  21. That's what I thought Cliff.......it looked like the same stuff I have here at the house. Thanks for confirming that sneaky suspision for me!
  22. So how hard would it be to convert this back to an F-150? Body is the same right?
  23. Got you added in there Mark! By the way; that your 4eye in your avatar? You over on foureyedpride or foxbodyforum?
  24. , , , , , , , , I have lots more, a lot of underhood (running a twin-turboed CAT engine in her). She is a 2007 Kenworth W900 with the 132" sleeper. Let me know if you would like me to post them.
  25. What did you end up using for the air cleaner outer metal mesh element Cliff? Whatever it is, it looks good!
