  1. Oh, forgot to take a picture, but it does have side mirrors painted in body color. No separate mirror faces, though. You'll need to foil or paint them.
  2. There is one piece of bad news, the supplied metal axles do not properly fit the front wheels, the hole in the front wheel is too large. I've already sent Revell and email letting them know. Rears are fine. I was really hoping to get a quick mockup shot with wheels and tires. Ride height looks a little high (typical with Revell) but due to the simple nature of the kit should be an easy fix. I'll have to wait untill I get my workbench set up at my new place to fix the front wheel issue - I was really hoping this was something I could crank out in my office today! And there are no decals at all, not for the emblems or gauges or even license plates. The emblems are tampo printed, though. A couple are misaligned (the ZL1 on the hood), but the good news is they are actually molded into the body and not just printed on.
  3. Mold lines Have to say I've seen worse on show tables...
  4. Kit has them, the prototype on the box didn't.
  5. I don't have the full-detail kit, so I don't have one to try. It is thin and doesn't have any big mounting lugs or anything. After checking out the instruction sheet for the other kit I would think so.
  6. Scan of the back of the box to give you an idea of what the kit is like. They say 48 pieces, that looks about right. Note that the windows lack the black border on the prototype, the kit has them already done.
  7. Hmmm... what could that be?!?!? Maybe the interior is broken down by color to make painting easier? That would blow my mind to see it on a domestic kit.
  8. Picked one of these up yesterday, I'll try to take some photos later today, surprised no one has started a thread on it yet. Looks nice, like a hybrid between a snap kit and a full-detail glue kit. Reminds me a lot of the old AMT "Craftsman" series which were promo-style chassis but with engine bay. The Inferno Orange metallic paint is really well done, but is let down by the mold lines which were not removed from the body before painting. Serious modelers will no doubt want to strip and clean up the mold lines and repaint them (and it's possible Revell will offer these unpainted in the future). For the money (less than a standard Revell full-detail kit) I think these are very well done. The windows have the black borders prepainted as well. The chassis and interior parts are molded in very dark grey and a metallic black. Highly recommended to beginners and to advanced modelers who will strip and clean up the body casting.
  9. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. Love it. When I lack the inspiration to work on models all I have to do is open a bottle... Personal life stuff has gotten in the way for the past few months, but I'm moving later this week the thing I'm looking forward to the most is getting the workbench back up and getting to building again, it's been quite a while - I haven't painted anything in over a year, just piddled here and there.
  10. The ProStar sells OK, for us anyway. The LoneStar was a juggernaut when it came out. But it was the first and there was so much pent up demand for a new truck kit I think which ever came first was going to be the bigger seller. Now that they've each been out for a while sales are about even. I've mentioned several times before what a great seller the Revell Peterbilt wrecker has been for us and I think a Moebius LoneStar wrecker would be great choice.
  11. I have the Compatibility View set. I couldn't get my cursor below the quote box, so I tried to turn BB Code Off (little light switch looking thing in the upper left) and the text box went blank and I couldn't turn it back on. Working fine now.
  12. Don't know why I can't edit my post above, stupid Internet Explorer on this work computer.... It's Revell Germany's Golf tooling. Not sure what's different about it for the Rabbit version, I saw it at Revell's booth at IPMS Nats, but I don't know enough about the subject matter and I didn't ask them about the details (We mainly talked about the Starsky & Hutch Torino )
  13. Should we expect these in time to be under the tree for Christmas if all goes well?
  14. You're right, the subject came up on another board a couple months back and I misremembered which was it, I had them flip flopped in my mind. I think I may have even spoken to or emailed Ed about it, too.
  15. Name not changed because of VW, it's because of DC's Blue Beetle comic.
  16. To be honest I never really liked Jay Leno as a standup and I never really liked him on the Tonight Show. But he's great on Jay Leno's Garage. This is his passion and his calling, and it looks like he has a fun time doing it.
  17. It's just not on there YET. Don't worry.
  18. I asked Round2 a few weeks ago, they said it's still on, just bumped to 2015. They said that this announcement had been a little ambitious based on what they had been told before the sale and once they actually took over the Lindberg line they've reassessed the timeframe.
  19. Oops, misread that, thought he was talking about HL. I haven't been into an HTU in 20 years.
  20. They've been saying "Summer" for a while. If they have decals and boxes done they're very close.
  21. From what I've seen, Hobby Lobby' s kits are priced over MSRP. So that 40% coupon isn't really 40% off. Michaels is the same way.
  22. Note they are the more modern "Keystone Klassic" wheels put out by Cragar after they bought Keystone. Original 60's/70's "Keystone Kustomags" are quite different in the shape of the spokes.
