  1. Hot Wheels - I find your lack of originality disturbing. "hey let's make a car that looks like the character's face!" Instead of making a car that looks like Darth Vader would drive it, they simply made one that looks like Darth Vader....
  2. Oh yeah, the 55 panel already exists, forgot about that one.
  3. Yet again, Tower Hobbies has posted information on upcoming new Revell kits before any official announcement from Revell. Great internal communication inside the Hobbico empire! Right now I don't have any more info than what can be gleaned from the Tower listings, anything in parentheses are my additional thoughts. 1/25 Starsky & Hutch Torino (wha?!? Talk about coming outta left field! By price appears to be a full-detail kit) Tommy Ivo Showboat (reissue I'm sure) 2014 Mustang GT (nice that the last of that generation won't be over looked, I've gotten a lot of requests and folks asking if it would be done. By the price looks like it'll be one of the new pre-paints) Acura Integra (assuming reissue of the Tuner series kit) 1/24 Porsche 911 (assuming a Monogram reissue, but who knows?) 1/24 VW Rabbit (RoG rebox?) 1/24 1955 Ford Panel truck (judging by the scale, I'm assuming a modified version of the pickup - reissue, forgot that it exists) Ed Roth Surfite 2014 Corvette Stingray (by price point looks to be pre-paint) 2013 Camaro ZL1 and Challenger SRT 8 (different numbers from prepaints already announced, assuming these are different colors or possibly unpainted versions) Matt and Debbie Hay's Thunderbird Pro Street (reissue) Snap kits: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (assuming modified from glue kit) 1/25 Ford Police Car (assuming the new Taurus-based Interceptor) 2014 Corvette Stingray Different #'s and cheaper price 2015 Mustang and Audi R8 (assuming these are clamshell packaged versions of the boxed kits, the clamshells usually run cheaper than boxed kits) Well, that's what I came up with, I'd expect Revell to post something on their Facebook page over the next week or so with more information.
  4. Stevens Int'l and Tower/Great Planes are both listing it. I'd list it for preorder if I knew what the boxart was going to look like.
  5. I believe it is. I've got it as as a TBA, kit #894
  6. Yowsa, that is nice! BTW, the color known as "Sky" is a British WWII/50's airplane color. It is, in fact, green.
  7. AMT 1/16 65 Mustang. The version I built in the early 90's only had showroom stock parts, which disappointed me more than anything upon opening the box*. Was just an all-around funky looking kit even to a teenager with limited photo references in the pre-internet age. That might just be how I remember it. I know I built it showroom stock, and that wasn't my style at the time. If it had hot rod parts, I'm pretty sure I would have used them.
  8. Bump to the top, found it looking for T-bucket inspiration. Really nice!
  9. Fingers crossed... Fingers also crossed for a sedan...
  10. If they were orange they were probably from the Eckler Corvette, pretty sure it was orange at least once. I don't think they're the Dukes kit wheels. Too nice. The smudge thing was just a joke about the pixelation. I couldn't tell.
  11. 5 spokes look good on anything!
  12. It could be that the silver is correct for Zs and the blackout for SS' s. I have a thing saved somewhere. Just have to remember what I named it or where I found it. Probably CRG. Yep. Silver is correct for Z' s. Sorry, never mind. http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml
  13. The plastic is just part of that trim package I guess.
  14. Taurus with some other snout. From the front wheels forward it looks more like a LMS dirt car to me.
  15. If this is what's actually hiding under there it's not too shabby...
  16. You could get white or black on Hugger Orange. I think they look best when matched to the interior color. Note: I need to check my references to see which grille treatment is correct, I think only the blackout is factory correct, but the argent grill does look good...
  17. Yeah, you do get a little snowblind. I've found that it's sometimes best to do them under poor lighting to keep from overpowering your eyes. I then let my eyes rest and look at them under different light conditions (I walk them around to other rooms in the house, outside, etc...) and I'll see where I've slipped up or gotten thin coverage. I think natural daylight through some sort of diffusion like curtains or blinds is the best light. I like doing them on my computer desk with just daylight through the window.
  18. The wheels are easy to do on, the demarcations are all there and sharply defined, though on the center cap it's the second ridge inwards, not the first. The first one is part of the wheel. I've got some painted up at home, I'll bring them to work tomorrow where I have my good camera and take a pic. The rear stripes are a little too far apart, I have the correct spacing diagram somewhere, I just can't find it now, but my general rule of thumb on 69's is that the outer edge is pretty much in line with the inner edge of the rear window trim. Looks like you've got them all the way to the outer edge. On the front stripes they should run straight then "disappear" as they roll under into the grille surround, not with that horizontal border. And the cowl vents should be blacked in as well. Revell gives you the border as a decal, but not the cowl vent part, that has to be painted. Just minor nitpicks, mind you, nothing serious, but if you're striving for accuracy (and it sounds like you are) I'd take them into consideration for the future.
  19. He can't show the flag because... wait for it... They "Bandit"!!! Ha! General Lee speaking, they look great. Wow, these really take me back to my redneck roots. I think you used to much Solvaset on the roof decal and smudged it. Those aren't the kit wheels on the General, or are they? I'm actually really excited about the upcoming new MPC snap General, I hope they used the same data as the AutoWorld 1/18 because it's very well done.
  20. Ok, I get what you're saying now, I thought you meant it was news to you that it didn't have much flake! Jonathan's models are now in the Under Glass section, BTW. They look great! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91783
  21. Because there's no greater freedom than the freedom to insult groups of people that you're not a part of.
  22. Maybe that was the case at one time, but when you come up with ridiculous caricature mascots like Chief Wahoo (Cleveland Indians) Cheif Nokahoma (Atlanta Braves) and Chief Fullabull/Sammy Seminole (Florida State) that kinda blows up the "honoring you" defense. Some teams do it better than others, the Chicago Blackhawks being a good example, they're pretty classy. The ones I mentioned were pretty tasteless, and I'm not easily offended. They were all retired (in the case of Wahoo, just this year) amid pretty significant protest. Every opening day for many years there were sizable protests in Cleveland over the Wahoo mascot. I guess the 24-hour cable news channels didn't send cameras, so it may be news to some folks to find out that natives have been protesting this stuff for years.
  23. T I think a ramp truck of an older vintage than AMT's would do great, we've sold a ton of those. A big 4 door Dodge would be the way to go for all those Chrysler drag teams that there are all ready kits on the market. I saw that article, I think that might have been what had them at the front of my brain. 2 of our best selling kits have been the Revell Pete Wrecker and the Moebius ProStar. I think a Lone Star or ProStar Wrecker would make a great subject, too.
  24. Kiekhaefer was without question by far the best funded team during the era that Moebius has done. They had some pretty cool haulers, but I'd bet these did double duty delivering Mercury Outboards when they weren't at the track. NASCAR race 1964. That's Richard Petty's rig with Plymouth on it. Photos from racersreunion.com
  25. Back in the 50s and early 60s they were still flat towing or open trailering race cars, often behind station wagons. The well funded teams had flatbeds or box trucks The dedicated big rig haulers came later. Those 60's and 70's ramp trucks are hot right now, even before the Snake and Mongoose combo came up at Barrett Jackson. Now that'd make an awesome combo.
