Should. Whichever is better detailed. Same motor. By some accounts the Mustang was just the Willys rebodied. Don't know if that's true but I read it on the Internet....

Tamyia TS-13 is back

Yup. New multi-lingual label vs old label. -
Great pics! You can change that. Album Properties -> Advanced Properties -> Photo View Size. But you have to re-upload the pics or they stay at the previous size. You can change your settings so new albums will default to the new size. Click "Go To" beside the Fotki logo, go to My Account in the drop down and change it to whatever size, up to 1000 x 1000.

1/25 Revell Mustang 5.0 LX Drag Racer
Brett Barrow replied to bad0210's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I see that now. What I was thinking of was just a blurb in the text box on the side, like the way they do the Foose Edition kits. Regardless of how they handled this one, early sales have been very positive. Our RPP shipment of these sold out the first day, and they're going strong now that they're in regular distribution. Wouldn't be surprised if this one ends up like the 62 Corvette Gasser kit, where the 2nd version waaay outsells the first. And the first version of this one sold pretty well... And a happy surprise is the "drag" kit with all its extra parts is $2 cheaper MSRP than the original 2 n 1. Maybe Revell did us all a favor, if they'd called it a 2n1, they'd have to give it the 2n1 price. -
My wife wouldn't take my models, she'd force me to build them all. She doesn't understand why we buy them just to stash them away untouched.

A little help with my new 'Cuda please...
Brett Barrow replied to Burnout's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Some good info here - http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=6344980&page=6&fpart=all&vc=1 - I posted it in the review thread, but here it is again in case anybody missed it. Some dead picture links, but still lots of good ones. I plan on attempting this car or something very close to it. Gotta love that luggage rack, anything to get some weight over the rear tires! http://www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1970-Plymouth-Hemi-Cuda/6422 -

Dumb questions: Tamiya bottle paint
Brett Barrow replied to clovis's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Need Mr. Cap Opener. Made by Mr. Hobby (Gunze) but also works on Tamiya "mini" bottles. Works a treat. Another one of those genius Japanese "don't knock it til you've tried it" tools. -

Now that would be a good idea. Just sticking it on the side panel in fine print wouldn't. You really should send that to Revell. Be sure to include several misspellings and grammatical errors in the email. That lets them know you mean bidness... -

Headers OK, rulebook says they're to be routed through the exhaust, but doesn't look like that was enforced. Intake would have be a "stock type". So on the HEMI it would need to be a 2 x 4 bbl. The Edelbrock "Rat Roaster" seems to have been a popular choice. Still had to have a back seat, I don't think roll bars were mandatory until 75, but would have been recommended I'm sure. Tires in Super Stock were pretty much whatever you could make fit without radical changes to the wheel wells. 30"+ wasn't unheard of. -

No stock hood or stock rear springs and only 2 street tires on the S&M Cuda 99.9% don't read the boxes so whether you put it on there or not it won't matter. "Do it have glue?" is a question I get quite often, even though "cement not included" is right there on the box. "What paint do it need?" is another, even though there's a chart on Revell boxes. Nobody reads this stuff in a retail setting, and online I can make the description say whatever I want. The ones savvy enough to actually read boxes are the ones who have most likely already read up on it online. If there wasn't already a stock kit I'm sure they would have labeled it as a "2 n 1" kit, but like I said they'd probably just be confusing things to have 2 concurrent "2 n 1" kits. -

I don't have the 65, but I can tell you I've read several online "reviews" about how poor the hood on the 36 Ford is to the various cowls, but mine fits fine. But it's on the internet, so it must be true, right?!?! -

As someone who receives similar correspondence on a daily basis, I agree with Harry and Deano 100%. Reminds me of the gentleman who waited 3 months to complain about our lack of timely correspondence during his order. We sent an instant confirmation email upon receipt of the order, and a tracking # email the instant the shipping label was printed. I guess he wasn't too upset if he waited 3 months to tell us... Or the gentleman who proceeded to tell us that we made a mistake when we described a product as "F4D Skyray" that he was an Air Force veteran and worked on those panes and that we didn't know a blankety-blank thing about fighter jets, that the plane was called a " Phantom" and that the proper nomenclature was "F-4D", all the while failing to realize that there is such a thing as an F4D Skyray, an earlier jet used only by the Navy. But yeah, it was we who didn't know a blankety-blank thing about fighter jets... -

ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Whelp, there goes the eBay value of those 3 cans I've been hoarding right down the drain. Was planning on using them to fund a Caribbean vacation (or maybe just lunch at Mickey D's). Lord knows I don't make it to the clear coat stage of a project often enough to ever use up 3 cans of clear... -

As someone who deals with the general public on a daily basis, I can tell you one reason not to call the new kit a 2 n 1 would be to avoid confusion with the existing 2 n 1 kit. And had they used the Jairus Watson box art for a "2 n 1" version, then the question would be whether there are 2 drag versions, or a drag and stock... I can see where it would lead. My experience is that the "kitchen table" crowd is somewhat confused by multiple options, and often feels they left something out or missed something in the instructions when there are pieces left over. I've even had people call me - "I followed the directions and there are pieces left over!..." -

I think it's a more recent release than the the 65 Galaxie, but the 36 Ford I have is very well done. No flash, fit has been very good on what parts I've test fit with the exception of the stock height 3 window roof. IMO, it's the best of the Round2 vintage restorations I've gotten so far. -
Don Grotheer 1970 Cuda
Brett Barrow replied to jjsipes's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Car was obviously built from a body-in-white. I doubt he'd be under any obligation to use factory colors. Almost looks like Sox & Martin colors in a different pattern... Wonder if they helped prepare Grotheer's cars? -
Looks great, I'm building one of these right now. Except for some compromises by sharing the body with the Chi-Town Hustler they really knocked it out of the park with this kit. Good tip in general, but the 1:1 car doesn't have black around the windows.

Revell Sox & Martin Pro Stock Cuda
Brett Barrow replied to kitswapper's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
There were at least two S&M 1970 'cudas, because I've seen photos of two of them side-by-side. To my knowledge S&M only ran ARHA and NRHA Pro Stock in 1970. A Super Stock would have had a factory shaker hood. There's really no rhyme or reason to the bumpers it seems, early season they were the elastomeric bumpers, later they went chrome, then endura bumpers reappeared. You could also see a mix of bumpers, chrome on the front, elastomeric on the back (which makes sense, IIRC the elastomeric bumpers were heavier than the chrome) At certain points in the season the car(s) had a white taillight panel, sometimes it was red. Sometimes they had the S&M trademark blue-tinted headlights, other times they were clear. Funny that the scoop on the color cover photo is almost exactly like the scoop in the kit. Neat article about the creation of NHRA Pro Stock in 1970 showing how the cars were still very close to their Super Stock roots. Couple of S&M pics* in there. http://moparmax.com/features/2009/iv_3-prostock-1.html *No, not that kind of S&M pics....
