  1. I got an e-mail from Round2 this morning announcing availability of 4 kits, all re-issues. They are: White-Freightliner Dual Drive Truck Tractor Peerless "Road Runner" Logging trailer Sheriff Roscoe's Dodge Monaco Police car Scooby Doo Mystery Machine The truck guys will be glad for the truck and trailer. This is a COE tractor that I remember seeing in the past. List $34.99 Link: http://www.shopatron.com/products/productd...MT620/642.0.1.1 The logging trailer has been long awaited. It includes log and girder payloads. $29.99 Link: http://www.shopatron.com/products/productd...1.41935.0.0.0.0 Roscoe's Police car is of course, another re-issue of the Joker's Goon car/cop car kit. $19.99 Link: http://www.shopatron.com/products/productd...PC707/642.0.1.1 And the one I care the least about, Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Snap kit. $19.99 Link:http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/part_number=RDPOL814/642.0.1.1 It includes pre-painted figures. Could it be chopped, sectioned, lowered, and Pro-Streeted? Gary
  2. A look at post race pictures may tell you that those cars aren't always as pristine at the end of the race as they are at the beginning. Bump, bang, rub, bye-bye pretty paint! Gary
  3. Does the saying "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" come to mind her? A Ford into a Rambler is an interesting switch. Maybe he should have gone for "Forarri" or ferrord", something like that? Gary
  4. Hate to be a nitpicker, but Holley carbs won't fit crossways on a street Hemi manifold. Gary
  5. Ricky builds like I do, a little here, a little there, slight start on this one, so nothing ever gets finished, except Ricky actually finishes something once in awhile. lol Not yet for me. Gary
  6. You guys are taking me kicking and screaming back to the 70s. I do like all the s-c-r-a-t-c-h built parts. Now all it needs is an off the wall paint job. Gary
  7. I agree, it is a wei®d camper, and not realistic in the real world, but stranger things have been seen. Someone sent me an e-mail (that I don't have any more) of a cobbled together rig to tow a 6k lb. 5th wheel trailer with an S-10 Blazer! That would mean the trailer would outweigh the Blazer by about 1500-2000 lbs. That's beyond dangerous. Gary
  8. If it was 1:1, I'd proudly drive it! Gary
  9. I suppose the reason they did a '71 Cuda is because of Nash Bridges, but I like the '70, and 72-74 grilles better. I not knocking this Cuda, I just saying the other grilles used on Cuda are more appealing to me. That is the reason I haven't bought this kit. Does anybody make a conversion/replacement grille for this body? Gary
  10. Was this car drowned in Hurricane Katrina, painted and sold? Gary
  11. Fujilover is lucky. When my son was 5 yrs. old, I had just finished painting a 1/72 Fokker Tri-plane, as in Red Baron, and was ready to start final assembly. When I came home from work my son had assembled my Tri-plane and made it a glue bomb. I decided it was time for model building lessons. The other option was anger, yelling, and frustration. He became a very good modeler who got into armor, mostly, and we stayed on speaking terms through adolescence. We still talk every week. He's 35 now. Gary
  12. To quote Rush Limbaugh (Oh, horrors) "It ain't braggin' if you can do it". Congratulations on you success. You should be proud, but we don't want to hear about it on every post. Gary
  13. 91% alcohol for a day and a half, no scrubbing, no problem. Gary
  14. I've used both Castrol Super Clean and Oven Cleaner. A day or two in the CSC ought to do the trick. If you've seen other resurrected glue bombs on these pages, you've seen what can be done. Go for it! Gary
  15. This opens up a lot of new possibilities, especially if R-M goes beyond Funny Cars into dragsters, Super Stock, Gassers,Fuel Altered, etc. Let's hope this sales strategy takes off and increases sales. There aren't a lot of these kinds of kits still being made. Gary
  16. For all the bad-mouthing that the USPS gets, its still among the best postal services in the world. Many other countries, especially 3rd world countries, mail is iffy at best. A friend told me of sending a letter to her friend in South America. Included in the letter was a piece of cloth and a note that said, "I'm sending you 4 yards of this cloth in a separate package in one week." Two weeks after the cloth was to arrive, the Postmasters wife was seen wearing a dress made of the same material as the sample. Since our friend was a missionary, she couldn't pursue this with the local government, so it was dropped. Long live UPS. Gary
  17. If you haven't built a model of your buggy yet, the Keystones are in the Revell '68 Charger, and you can send the rest of the kit to me. Gary
  18. It seems the question here is the meaning of "Scale Calculator". One seems to say that he needs a calculator to calculated 1/25 scale demensions. The other seems to be talking about a calculator reduced down to fit in a 1/25 scale office. One of them misunderstands the other, perhaps on Purpose. I leave it to you to figure out. Gary
  19. Wildest rotary I ever heard was in Tulsa, OK in the mid 90s. It was a RX-3 with a 2 rotor and a 550 holley. It spun 8" slicks with ease. It sounded funny though. Gary
  20. I loved it when Stock Car Racers really looked like the car on the dealer's lot. What they do now almost reminds me of Formula cars, all the same, just different engines, other than that, all cosmetic. Gary
  21. here's a web site for 12 port fanatics. http://www.inliners.org/ They are supppsed to be for all inline engines but most emphasis is on 12 port GM engines. Check out the Bonneville car on the home page. Now there's a project for you! Gary
  22. Nice GTO. I can't help but wonder, is that picture at your work or your neighborhood? I'm farther north than both of you. I'm 175 miles NW of Ft. Worth, 50 miles NW of Wichita Falls. You think its cold in the winter in Granbury, try here in Vernon. Next year we'll expect both of you to be here for "Summer's Last Blast", 2nd weekend of August. 3 days up to your eyeballs in vintage hot rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, and even vintage farm equipment. 1,200 registered pre-78 street machines. Gary
  23. I have two favorites, a 426 Hemi & 12 cyl. Packard Merlin engine, like in the P-51 Mustang. Round engines, like a Pratt & Whitney 2800 (F4U Corsair) come close.
  24. About a year ago there was a post on another forum where a modeler had botched the job on a '53 Vette and decided to do a rust/weather job on it. He did a great job of rust/weather, but forgot that Vettes are fiberglass. I just had to remind him about that. Gary
  25. In 1962 I was in the 7th grade and built the AMT '25 (?) T coupe kit that included a second T roadster in about 1/32 scale, I think. It was a very simple kit and I didn't paint it, but of course I didn't paint anything at age 12. At that time it was as much fun as the bigger kit, wish I had it now. Gary
