  1. Finally, I had some time to share the few pictures I could took, due to I was taking care of the fire. I'm sorry for the quality of some of them since I couldn't get my tripod to the area. First of all I would like to thanks all the guys that showed up to my house like: Ismael Goanzalez, Alex Renta, Ruben Tirado, and my son Ferdinand Rivera. Like you guys can see, we had a great time in a real hot July day with over 90 grades! As you guys will see, the models were the excuse to have this get together...friendsip and food was primary!...Thanks guys! Simón The troop arrivring. One of the highlights of the show...Mike Candelaria(with the shorts),..finally, after 5 years...he's back! Models over the table...even dinosaurs! Some great models of the show... to be continued....
  2. No, I was completlly right, it was in 2004 Simón P. Rivera Torres
  3. First of all I have to clarify that you are right, I didn't won in 2004, it was in 2003 About if the "other" you want to know, if you didn't wanted to start something or not, you did...Looking to your last name, I will assume that you should be Puertorrican as I am, and that are like the other guys that talked about I'm talking trash about them. Hey, listen: I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told them, because that was the root of the problem, I go to what ever place I like, and to the place that I feel great, I don't car if it is in Puero Rico, the states, in the moon or Uranus...this people here think like you, that I have to go to the shows here first over any other place and trash like that...and no, Igo to the place I like and to thte place I feel the best. If you read this closelly, you will see that I'm not talking anything negative about any model activity here in the island, I have here people that can get together with me and some ones that can't, that's all. I feel that you don't have the complete information, like them, so, I will give you a break and won't start to shoot with everything I have to you, OK! I don't know from were you say that I don't praise the work of som of my fellow countrymen from here. I have here some guys from my country that can have ny frienship and some that can't. Ask here to the moderators and you will see that I haven't use any bad word or anything negative even to any of the ones don't like me. The only problem was like year when someone here asked why I would go to an event at Daytona race track with a model show here in Puert Rico, and I told them the same thing and some of them got mad because what will the people think about that, I told them that people with intelligence won't think nothing about that tha because I just only told the complete truth and they etarted with the same thing..that I have to support this or that, etc...and the problem started again. I think people have the complete right to decide to go to whatever place they like Just my three cent worth! Simon P. Rivera Torres

Oh the greatness of modeling...a good excuse to have a good day with friends, food, beers, wine,...look foward for some pictures. Simón P. Rivera Torres

  10. I wish to all you guys there the best there. As a visitor 2 years ago to this great show, I have no doubt about you guys will a great time there with the guys of the K.A.M.S. club, specially my good firend Bob Barker. Another great susrprize this year is the great Bob Paeth, another master! Tha best for all you guys there! Simón P. Rivera Torres
  11. Hey Bob, what a great way to spend the 24 hours race! It looks like you had a great time. I wish to live closer to join you guys in this trip. Congratulations to all of you guys! Simón P. Rivera Torres
  12. The brake master cylinder has been a little bit altered and also received some nuts to accept the brake fluid lines. The brake drums also received some detail, like brake lines, nuts, and hand painting detailing. The baterry was also detailed. Here most of the components has been instaled, and this how it's start to look. Yous guys can notice here the perfect in scale gloss of the gloss black paint job in the suspention components. For this I used Gunze Sangyo Lacquer Mr. Color gloss black. This is it for now... Simón P. Rivera Torres
  13. Before start the chassis detailing work, I sprayed a coat of Fabric Faux to replicate the rust protection treatment on the bottom of the car. Some flucking has been added to the carpet area. I mixed like 75%-25% Black-light gray combo to replicate the the tiny white hairs that can be seen in the real carpets. The rear seats were added here. The center console and the seat's rails has been added. to be continued... Simón Rivera
  14. Wow Danny, tremendo brillo en el tuyo. Deja ver ver cuando nos juntamos con algunos de los muchachos para ponernos al día y ver todos estos projectos en persona. Gracias por darle una miradita a esto. Simón Rivera
  15. I used the Auto Clear from Finisher's. About the dulling look, I think it could be the light setup, because, as you can see in the modeling room pictures, it looks real glossy, and in person it's more than that. Oh yes, I'm convinced, because after checked out these pictures of a prior post, the model has a great gloss. Next step I will show the chassis and interior build up. The model it's more advanced than what you guys see here. Simón P. Rivera Torres
  16. No!, this are not some underexposure shoots, if not, it's that I like the look of the gloss of the car in the dark at my modeling room. It can be seen better that in the perfect lighting setting. The same shots with unaltered room light. I will add soon the front suspension and interior section. I hope you guys like this pictures. See you then! Simón
  17. A picture of the final work at the rear of the model. Some overviews of how everything look so far. Abody that has been buffed, detailed, and waxed! Side views Mid section closeup Front section closeup The front half aready done. The wiper also received some Alcad II treatment. to be continued... Simón P.Rivera Torres
  18. After being some time living in LAZYTOWN, I'm finally back to finish this project. There's has been a lot of work on it after my last time post, so, there will be more updates soon. Last time I ddi all the paint work on just the body, here you guys can see all the parts that I have to paint on this 200+ Fujimi kit parts. These doesn't cover the parts that will make the engine. The bumpers has a chorme trim, but over it, it wears a rubber moulding that I though to paint flat or semi-flat black, but, instead, I place a piece of the Pactra tape. I comes in several lenghts and it give th part the correct look. Some thing that I would like to correct for some time on my models are those out of scale license plates that in real life will be around a whole inch, could you guys imagine an inch width license plate? Instead use the one that came with the kit, I used a real thinn plastic sheet of evergreen where I placed the decals. A tiny bolt head completed the bumper and license plate assembling. Like the bumper guards you guys saw in over the bumpers, some other parts received the Alclad II blessing. Here can be seing the mirrors and the tail lights bases. Thanks a lot to Armando from Dragon Models USA who provided me with the replacement parts. The kit didn't came with those tail light bases and I messed up the license plates and the decals trying to dry'em with a hair drier. I mixed some Badger flat black acrylic paint and a Gunze Sangyo 01 black fine tip marker in order to replicate the trim that goes under the rear signal lights and the side mirrors. Here are the results. to be continued! Simón P.Rivera Torres
  19. Some updates soon! Simón
  20. Hey Brian, awesome job so far on this classic! I'm following his one closelly. A question: where you got the goldFirestone decals on the tires? do they comes with thekit? Simón P. Rivera Torres
  21. Although it doesn't have to do anything with modeling, I would like to share with you guys this two videos that I placed on Youtube. 1-On this one I'm playing a solo with the synphony orchestra that I put together on the shcool I teach. This is the '70's big hit ballad "Feelings". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiMgH9gTF4c 2-On this one, I'm conducting the orchestra with the big latin ballad star singer, Danny Rivera performing the song "Tantos Deseos de Ella". I hope you like 'em. Simón P. Rivera Torres

  23. Oh yes!, nothing like a perfect lay down paint job. Simón P. Rivera Torres
  24. Well bro, I think it's time to pass the page and move to another alternative. One that I can recommend this time and that I had use on my most recent model, it's the Auto Clear from Finisher's. Seeing how well you're painting, after you give this the 3200-4000 polishing pads, plus a final buff with the Tamiya fine polishing compound you will say; "Dios mio"(oh my god!). Try it, you won't go back. Simón P. Rivera Torres
  25. Hi Paul & Mark, I'll be there! Simón P. Rivera Torres
