  1. Thank you ! Took a year's worth of video for the completion but we feel it was well worth the effort .
  2. Finally finished . Color is Arturo's Fire . Revell kit . Detail Master fittings and wire used throughout build . Steel tubing supplied by Machined Aluminum Specialties . Wheels are produced by JDS Racing . Blower scoop , grill , and push bar were machined by Bob Dudek .
  3. No secrets here . Two choices for you . Obtain a copy of Model Car Magazine's January 2013 issue . Virgil Suarez and I did an article together covering the subject . Second choice would be to purchase a copy of Virgil's book on weathering . Either or teaches a step by step procedure , however , the book offers a much more in depth instruction on several other methods .
  4. Mike , We decided to go in a different direction . We started a learning channel at Patreon .com instead . $ 4 per week . Two ongoing projects , one is a work table to show table build . The other is a start to finish weathered piece . I realized that I can go far further into detail this way and I am not limited , time wise as I would with a DVD . In between the project segments which are once a week , we fill in with how to's videos . Thanks for your interest , my friend !
  5. Gary , I believe these are from Replicas & Minatures of Maryland . I used gas caps from Detail Masters for the centers .
  6. Thank ya'll for the compliments , they are greatly appreciated !
  7. Revell '57 Ford wagon . Custom mix of Testors enamels followed by Pearl X laden clear top coat . Detail Master wire and fittings . M.A.D. Distributor . M.A.S . Stainless steel tubing . Modelhaus wire wheels .
  8. First test fit .......
  9. Dave , Carbs are from an old Johan Sox & Martin ' Cuda. The kit carbs just don't cut it when it comes to being detailed.
  10. Well on it's way , but still have more than a few hours of work to do .
  11. Thank ya'll for your kind remarks ! David , the next wagon will put a smile on your face Tom , I scratched the glass lightly with sand paper and then streaked it with a slime colored acrylic chalk .
  12. Far more than what has been accomplished in the past few years .....
  13. Brake lines are installed . Since these photos were taken , the tail lights have been installed .....
  14. AMT kit . Arturo's Flame . Custom mix of Testors enamels , overshot with Pearl X laden clear coats . Bob Dudek machined aluminum valve covers , blower scoop , & push bar . Detail Master wire & fittings . Terry Kinnear 's M.A.S. Stainless steel tubing . Numerous kit bashed parts added ( as usual ) !
  15. Thank Ya'll for the compliments , I greatly appreciate it .
  16. It is separate .....
  17. Revell Kit, Bob Dudek valve covers , Detail Masters wire & fittings . Parts by Park air cleaner . M. A.S. Tubing . Wheels & tires are from Replicas & Minatures of Maryland . Slixx decals . Color is a custom mix of Testors enamels with Pearl X laden Testors clear top coat .
  18. It is a shame that these situations even exist ... Modelers wonder why their favorite aftermarket suppliers close their doors and shut down the business ? This is the very reason ! Greed , lack of integrity , honor , call it whatever you will , these individuals should be ashamed of themselves . Unfortunately , in most cases , they are not ! Dirk , do not think for five seconds that this " kid " does not know what he is doing . I am quite sure he knows exactly what he is doing and simply does not care whether it is right or wrong . Regardless of his age , nail him by legal means . It's the only way that this is going to stop . This is the very reason that Lone Wolf Custom Painting has not released a new DVD in almost nine years . Piracy , burned copies , unauthorized uploads to the Internet , etc , you name it , they found a way to steal it . So .... Every chance that the after market has the chance to bring charges and have the thieves prosecuted , it should do so ........ We have lost quite a few talented companies for the very reasons stated here , it's time to put a stop to it before we lose more . The Community itself needs to step up and refuse to purchase the knockoffs once they have been identified as such ........ Donn Yost Lone Wold Custom Painting
  19. James , Very nice start on your project . I found a photo of this same car on the Internet 2 weeks ago and tucked it into the roundtoit file . Stick to your vision of your build as you see fit . After all is said and done , it's your build , and that is what this hobby is all about .......
  20. Thanks for the kudos , ya'll ! I greatly appreciate it ! Too much business , not enough pleasure these days , so I decided to do something for myself for a change . I set the commission work aside and worked on one of my own projects . I still have 5 or 6 sitting off to the side that are well on their way to being finished and I intend to do just that ! Gotta find a balance to this craziness ..... Lol !
  21. The Webers are from one of Harold Bradford's Historic Racing Minatures engine kits . Decals are from Slixx . Velocity stacks are from Joey Cardoza's JDS Racing . The aforementioned are some of my go to favorites , their products are all of a superior quality and provide a realistic appearance each and every time . Chris , thank you ! I guess it got knocked loose during final assembly and I missed it . I appreciate the heads up !
  22. Revell kit . Front suspension from the '57 Ford gasser wagon , shot with Alclad . Wheels & tires from the '62 Vette gasser kit . Shabo dry transfers on the tires from my dwindling supply ( Whimper ) . Paint was base coated with Testors enamel and then clear coated with Pearl X laden Testors Clear Top Coat enamel .
  23. Lol ! Since the photos were taken , the driveshaft was installed as were the battery cables and the ignition box . As for the tranny , it now has a manual , the boys in the shop got fed up with the promises of sponsor money that never came to fruitation and tore the automatic out . The dimbulb builder lent no credence to the rear splash pan having to be cut to accommodate the riser blocks for the rear end to allow the rear tires clearance . It had to be cut after the paint work was completed which added a few more white hairs but was accomplished with little or no fuss ...........
